Today was a travel day, arrived at Knaresborough Site about 12. 30. Sunshine all the way 🌞
We walked through the Nidd gorge into Knaresborough which is actually quite a long walk although lovely. Have now found a friendly traditional ale house so it seemed a good place to stop and sample a few local ales 😉 may have to get the bus back 😄😄
We met a couple in Whitby last night who lived in Coventry, it amazes me how when over 200 miles from home we manage to bump into people who live half an hour from us at home.

Gorgeous day here down in Cornwall. T-shirt’s and shorts, although it dropped cool later in afternoon. Boscastle and a walk up part of the SW coastal path for us today, now back on CL pondering on a dip in the hot tub..........

We have just watched a fiery sky here as well tonight, preceded by a big murmuration of starlings. Hope tomorrow is as nice!

Pleased to hear every out and about having a great time. Can't be jealous as we've not long been back and have had a wonderful season, albeit a bit frenetic. Not quite finished hopefully.
Another day another gardening stint. Aches gradually eased as I warmed up. Mrs WN hurt her neck hesterday so only light duties today.
We pick the MIL up tomorrow from her weekly stint at hospital. Her brother is being transferred to a place nearer home early next week.
Mkre gravel being delivered tomorrow so Sundays already planned out.

Waved grandson off this morning as son was going to pick him up early from school and then drive for a holiday in Yorks. Son came back, packed final boxes for removal men to collect ahead of move in November. Waved son off on holiday as he went to pick grandson up. Son and grandson returned, couldn't get through Bath to head north so came home for nearest M5 route here. Waved son and grandson off....you get the picture? But they did go, rather late, waiting to hear if they made it and have met up with daughter in law somewhere in the dark and very very late by now I think....?
Meanwhile OH and self are left surrounded by boxes, lego mountain, trees in pots, bikes, old lawn mowers, guitars etc etc till Monday or maybe Tuesday or whenever we are informed we are on duty to wave all this stuff off too.

I’m afraid they blame everyone rather than accept their responsibilities to the local environment & visual amenity☹️

brue.........I think you are very tolerant! OH says that is way more tolerant than she would have been.
We do have a deal of DD's stuff here, but only 4 boxes, a few odds and ends, a coffee table, a sofa and 2 sofa beds. She is also to get a leather swivel chair and 2 matching stools of ours.
We will be glad when they all go!

KjellNN. Earlier in the year much of their stuff went into storage, after three months the storage costs rose. They had intended to move locally but DIL got a permanent contract for her research work in the NE so things changed. They sold quite a bit of their bigger furniture but it was surprising how much arrived! Sometimes you have to be tolerant to help the family out, we won't be doing DIY for them or anything like that so have helped them as best we can. Not quite what we were expecting due to other things happening too but then life is never predictable.

A glorious good morning from Yorkshire’s East Coast. Mists & Autumn photo bombing Woodpigeon. Post sunrise. Enjoy your day👍🏻😊
Apologies to John Keats😨

If any of ours needed some storage here it would not be possible unless used garage and left car on the road?,as the only spare room we have is loaded with things from years of LV changes that were a "good idea at the time" we must get it sorted
maybe?, as we also may need something sometime

Currently sat in the sunshine, looking at the sea over Tintagel. Having a lazy morning on site. Slight disturbance as odd MH and caravan passes by, it’s booting out time at Trewethett Farm! Birds chirruping, ravens kronking, buzzards crying, horses mooching. Trying to decide whether or not to go for a swim............
All for £12. And no ferry fees.

Deep joy, caravans and MHs going other way now, refilling TFarm! Some are gazing wistfully at us in splendid isolation!

Sounds lovely TDA, the weather is really beautiful today. Have you done the St Nectan's Glen walk? We missed it last time. LINK (for others to take a peek from their armchairs...
)
We have our visiting dog for the weekend so just took him out on a nice walk, half way a long a big dog fox stepped out in front of us. Visiting terrier came alive to the idea too late but picked up the scent further along.

A rather tiring day. I've finally got around to running a feed from the solar panel array to the engine battery. The way the electrics are configured, it was only charged by the alternator. I managed to find a route that didn't require any additional holes in the underside. Mind you limbo dancing under the van to run the cable has taken its toll on my decrepit frame. By the time I've sat down to watch F1 qualifying, I'll probably be locked into position.
Gave the MH a quick wash over as well. The recent southerly winds from the Sahara might be warm but they don't half dump some dust.
Just have to load up for a few days in Devizes and the weather looks reasonable too.

Another lovely day, can't believe how lucky we have been on this trip.
Today we did a few more of the many cycle routes through the National forest, which is easily reached from the C&CC Conkers site. Very nice site and popular, certainly at the weekend, although its not full.
Tomorrow we will pop up to Penistone to see No 2 son and family, we only have the 1 night as the CL we use was full for Saturday night. Still its not long since we last saw them.
Then Monday we head up the road, with an overnight at Jedburgh, that way we will arrive home at lunchtime on Tuesday, rather than late afternoon on Monday. We prefer to do that as it means we can get the van and car unloaded in daylight.

Our 3 children have all used our garage for storage on many occasions. We think they had worked out a rota between them
. We also many years ago stored our parents belongings in there when we had to clear their various abodes
. We have always been more than happy to help them.
We had 2 of the grandchildren today while daughter and SIL had a day in London. We had an excellent day. We watched grand-daughter and her team win their football match this morning and then went to watch the new Johnny English film this afternoon when 2 more grandsons joined us and then we went for a meal at Frankie and Bennys. They have now been collected and all is quiet.
So glad that all who are away are having such good weather.

Storage costs do seem to be high these days, we had stuff in storage for a year about 30 years back and it was relatively reasonable then.
More recently, OH enquired about storage for one item of furniture of her mother's that our daughter wanted kept for her, and was shocked at the cost. Daughter had to find room for said item in her flat!
Living very near DD, we are well into the DIY at the moment, and it is turning out to be a much bigger job than first envisaged. They will probably have to move in in about 2 weeks, but looks like they will have to use one of the living rooms as a bedroom, and will only have the use of one shower room.
Busy painting at the moment, the ceilings are high so there is a lot of wall!
Hope the move goes well.

Hi brue, just had a look at your link. How long is the walk, and would it be suitable for our Lab who is arthritic but a stoic! We could meander slowly, and give him a rest when he needs one, but doesn’t look good for his chariot!
He’s chased the Site cat around twice today, so still full of beans! Thanks for the link, looks very interesting.

A beautiful virtually cloudless day today in Cornwall. After restocking at Aldi in Liaskeard we drove up to Tokenbury Corner and then walk over to Jope's Shaft, South Caradon Mine and round Caradon Hill, a grand day out. Yesterday we spent the day at Lanhydrock, walking in the estate and round the house. It's been a while since we last visited and they've altered the walking trails.

OH discovered the joys of Cornwall’s 1:3 hills on his bike, while I went for a swim!

We spotted that walk when we drove past after visiting Tintagel & doing the walk down the Rocky Valley. Will keep it in mind for another time. Thanks for the link.

Kj. Thanks for your good wishes for the move and I hope all your DIY efforts are a success!
TDA. Although I put on the link I couldn't get into the details so I'm not sure what it would be like for your lab. You might manage a short stroll?
Hope TrikyP isn't collapsed in a heap somewhere?
I am enjoying having a few quieter days to do various things at home, booked to see the gardener, Adam Frost on Monday, giving a talk at the Yeovil Literary Festival. We saw Monty Don't last year.

Glad to hear your reassurances about the weather, M. We are staying at the C&CC site for a few days. Planning on stopping off at Stonehenge on the way up as we are passing it. Haven't been there since I was a kid.
