What are you all up to

Please take care DSB, all you can do at this stage is build your strength back up, get that mobility back, so best to take it steady and relax a little. Post operative stress is quite common, but with rest and doing what you are told, when you are told, things will improve. Wishing you all the best.
We are weather watching brue, will delay our departure if we need to, no point in taking risks.

I can only repeat what Millie has said, David. All my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

WN, just a thought could you put the BG thing in MIL name and claim the new customer discount, then the next time put it back in your name or OH 's name. This practice is common with some firms.
We have a similar policy through WB and D&G, no where near what you are paying. Appreciate you have reasons to stay with BG.

Good morning CT👍🏻😊, out early to find the temp 19c, it’s almost the middle of October, ideal weather for testing a new ripsaw. Now (08:00hrs) it’s 20c. I’ll take it mind, with thanks. Enjoy your day.

Good morning R2B. Lovely to hear from you. The weather here is very warm, cloudy and breezy. Enjoy your day with your ripsaw.

Thanks for the thought Tammy but the terms and conditions quite clearly state that their definition of "you" extends to include anyone living at the same address, so they've already thought of that one. I did consider it for a while, even to putting contract in MIL's name but she has the same address as me so again that's a non starter.
Will end up actually paying less than last year but with an excess, but still £100+ more than if I was a new customer.

I'm glad some people are enjoying good weather. Here in North Wales it has been tipping down all night and is only just beginning to relent a little now.
I'll be having lunch and then transporting Mil to her new quarters for the next week. Amazing, we come home and she disappears. One would think I've almost arranged things.

Had a running race with the grandtwins after school yesterday. I was a long way ahead when I pulled a muscle in the back of my leg. It was like the hedgehog and the rabbit, I got thrashed and am now in pain! Note to self - Act your age🚶♂️🏃♂️🤪

I sympathise Oneputt, I've been on a lot of playground equipment this summer, not always with the best results...
Just waiting for the removal men to come and give an estimate to remove son and family's belongings to the NE early November. Of course son isn't here yet having stayed with friends last night....

Thanks Mills, I love the smell of cut wood to start my day👍🏻😂

That looks a great piece of kit R2B.
OP. OH has found that it is not a good idea to play football with the grandchildren as they get older either.
0 -
Ah but you were acting your age, OP. Just acting your mental age as opposed to your body age! Great that you still want to play with GKs. They'll soon reach the age where they won't want to race Gramps.
Took MIL to see her brother in hospital. She's very upset but now staying with SIL in hotel nearby.
It's actually stopped raining. Hooray.

Another lovely day here, took awhile to clear the skies but its been warm and pleasant this afternoon. Bit of shopping this morning and a bit of clothes washing.
After lunch we went on another cycle ride around the nearby lakes, lots of birds there, according to the noticeboard they are getting ready to migrate. Bit further round another lake we found a lovely beach. Still much to see and do in the area so another visit will be required
Rain forecast for early morning then on and off most of the day. Leaving here late lunch for an easy drive up to Caen, must remember to give Riva Bella a call in the morning to find out when they open after lunch.
Ferry then 8.30 am Monday, hope all the wind and rain has passed through by then. We've been watching it on the news Wales seems to have taken a battering and OH saw something on his fb page about Kendal site being awash. Hope all are safe.

Is that a new fable, OP, or did you just select to be the hedgehog as you're prickly because the managed to beat you?

Got up this morning to pounding rain we normally get great views here at Berwick C&MC but was only mist this morning no view. We went up to Kelso for a walk around nice little town. After we came back I went to The Red Lion in Spittal for a pint which was enjoyable but got soaked walking back to the van. Now back at the van nice and cosey. Hope it clears up tomorrow

Another day of wind and rain, but we did manage to get a couple of dry but blustery walks in this morning, firstly at Porthtowan, where we nearly got blown off the top, and then up at Towan Cross. It is less windy tonight, but we're still having rain showers. Hope tomorrow is drier.

Thanks you all so much for your kind comments. I'm managing pretty well around the house without crutches now - except for one crutch up and down stairs. Hopefully that will help with my hands....
People have been really supportive both here and elsewhere. It is really appreciated.

David, good to hear you are getting around a bit better. BTW just a silly question but do you have to sleep on your back for a period after the op like you usually do with a hip operation? Obviously with a hip its to stop possible dislocation not sure if that can happen with a new knee?
Strange day here weather wise. Surprisingly warm, I was sitting in the garden at 7.00pm tonight in the dark but with a warm wind blowing. I think its due to change over the next few days. Trust us we put the winter duvet on about 10 days as it was getting quite cold at night now we throw it back during the night as its too warm!!!

We are just home from a lovely 9 night break. We were at Beechwood Grange C&MC site which is very nice now after the redevelopment the new toilet block is vety nice lovely site and very handy for York and the surrounding area we even got lovely weather considering it is October we managed to cook dinner on the Cadac a couple of times. We then moved up to Berwick C&MC for 3 nights very relaxing sote its wonderful to sit and look out to sea from the comfort of your van. We got home today after an easy 3 hour drive home even the road around Edinburgh was quiet for a change. When we arrived home today the van was filthy so I spent an hour cleaning it before putting it back in its space in the drive. Got a wedding to attend next weekend so wont be away in the van again for a couple of weeks

Spent a couple of hours in the garden pruning (cutting back) the wisteria and sundry other shrubs. Picked runner beans for supper, been an excellent crop this year, been picking them since mid July.🌞
Been dull most of the day but started to drizzle about 3pm☔️

Last day in France on this trip
Left La Fleche just before noon in lovely sunshine, OH still in shorts and T shirt, I've moved to crops
Arrived at Riva Bella around 3pm, easy slow drive up, roads clear as its Sunday. Stopped at a nice picnic aire for lunch (1.30).
There are a dozen or so African migrants outside the site, most of the area has been fenced off either side of the road but looks like they have squeezed through a gap. No trouble from them that we have witnessed.
As to Riva Bella, its been a few years since we have been here, didn't like it before but have to say the improved sanfacs and the work they are doing is making the place better. That and the 17€ price now they are in Acsi is more appealing. We don't really like this crossing but this time we will use it as it puts us where we want to be so we can go to visit No 1 son and family for a few days.
Early start tomorrow
I'm not a lover of early starts.
