...but as in ypur earlier post, the other side of the coin certainly is.....walking into reception after paying for one day and looking to extend......when full...because you didn't book the whole period.

The problem with this 'late cancellation' facility, which IMHO should be 5 or 7 days not 3, is that as increasingly people find they are unable to get the pitch they want will book further ahead, just in case, as has been outlined, and the issue is likely to get worse rather than better.

I have just released my booking for Southport August 16-20 if anyone wants it
Was that the Southport Flower Show weekend Jonray? I just had a look at 2019 availability and I see that awning pitches are already fully booked for the Friday of the 2019 Flower Show and less than 5 pitches on the Saturday. Not surprised.

I can't plan that far ahead. I don't even buy green bananas.

I keep saying, use the booking system to its full, you can always amend or cancel,I would say ten days notice before cancellation would be better this might allow any weather fronts moving about not to influence the decision, I notice Tewksbury fully booked on July 13 good job I got in early.

Some (maybe most) of us don't get many full weeks off work.
One of the reasons we bought a caravan was to enable some weekends away.
There are plenty of non-CCC places that will only let you book for a full week. So, please enjoy the unique flexibility that the club membership provides.
Conversely, it could be argued that we should ONLY be booking a few days at a time, rather than full weeks. We're all running touring outfits after all !
...Why not build up a touring holiday using 3 or 4 days at each site ?

What about Tourers ? Minimum booking of 2/3/4 nights, means that genuine 'en route' caravanners/motorhomers would be unable to be sure of an overnight stay.
Rather than setting pitches aside for weekenders, how about a few set aside for non- booking at all, or a max of 1 week in advance. Would help tourers and perhaps weekenders too ?
Instead of ALL pitches booked months in advance....just an idea.
