My recently adopted team, Tiverton Town are in FA Cup action this afternoon and in their division they're one of six teams at the top on the same number of points.

Come on you Tivvies and UTT⚽️

Doomed  Doomed  the  Alex  are  Doomed  !

Pretty  Standard  Season  so  far,  &  not  appearing  to  shew  the  slightest  hope  of  improvement,  Sorry  is  a  regular  state  of  affairs  at  Gresty Road,  always  excepting  the  Chippy  across  the  road  from  the ground,  naturally  a  great  source  of  vinegar  !

Just  read  the  fixtures  for  Tuesday { Midtable  Swindon  @  Gresty  Road }  a  rehearsal  for  next  Saturday  [  Lincoln  away  --  Table  toppers  ]

Always  knew  there  was  a  very  good  reason  for  not  buying / reading  the  Sunday  rags  --  they  can  ruin  a  whole  bloomin'  week  just  like  that  !!  And  now  it's  started  raining.  cryfrownyell

All  this  after  WN  moaned  about  those  beloved  Steam  Engine  Thingies  ( WN's  term )

Well City managed to get a late win against Hoffenheim. I know, no one has heard of Hoffenheim!

Anyway, we were at the match and really enjoyed it.

We're staying 5 nights in Heidelberg (not in the 'van), fly home tomorrow.

Away at Liverpool at the weekend, not going to that one. Much as I like Anfield, we always get walloped there.

Will try to post a photo of Hoffenheim.....

My team may not be doing very well on the grass but off the field it's a different story. Today we're away at Burnley and the chairman his wife and 200 other fans are walking the 26 and a bit miles from the JSS to Turf Moor to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society in memory of Ray Wilson MBE. They set off at 3.00 am!

Ray was suffering from Alzheimer's disease at the time of his death earlier this year.

Last week the Town Foundation opened its 31st breakfast club and this year passed the milestone of one million breakfasts served to school children who would otherwise have gone to school without a proper breakfast.

The other big fund raising feat has seen money raised for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance for the ninth consecutive year this year.

Hopefully the team will soon turn the corner and start to match that effort on the grass.

    UTT Rog

Win  one  lose  two  or  so  seems  to  be  the  basic  way  of  existence  in  the  beam  ends  of  the  Football  League  and  we're  getting  used  to  that  now  after  five  years  of  grim  times.

Doomed Doomed  we're  all  DOOMED  I  SAY    MWaaaaah cry !

I'd take any win at the moment but coming back from one down on Saturday is a good sign that better things might be round the corner . Then along comes another damned international break and the momentum is lost. Grrr

Your team may not be doing too well on the field, but off it - Wow! What brilliant community spirit!! Many teams work hard with local communities and charities and to pass  one million breakfasts for schoolchildren, in my book, puts you top of the league!

    Long may it continue 👍😀

Stanley went down 1-0 to Shrewsbury after their keeper was red carded 16 minutes into the game for a 'collision' on the edge of the box!?!

Good result really playing with 10 men 😀

Well now I'm really down in the dumps. The Tivvies lost in extra time to the London bobbies last night so they'll just have to concentrate on the league.

Not  sure  how  I  feel  about  footie  tonight  undecided.

Poor  old  Alex  had  the  worst  of  todays  game  at  Gresty  Road  but  scored  first  then,  justifiably  conceded  to  let  Bury  escape  with  a  deserved  point  __  BUT  I  was sitting  here  typing  away  &  listening  to  the  Port  Vale  V  Lincoln  game  and  could  not  stop  laughing    P V just  scraped  a  lucky  but  deserved  THRASHING  at  Burslem..

To  Hell  with  sad  thoughts  __  Come  on  Lincoln,  Lincoln  come  on  !!

Round  'uns,  allegedly  pork,  contained  in  pastry  but  I'd  recommend  those  from  the  local  chippy --  their  pie  cases  taste  less  like  football  leather,  and  the  meats  fresher  --  twas  running  round  the  training  ground  this  morning  !!  smile  The  tea  is  detectable  by  the  smaller  labels  {  less  letters  than  coffee  of  course !! }sealed

You and lots of Stokies laughing into their oatcakes!

Meanwhile Stanley's remarkable run continues with a 3-1 home win in front of their largest home gate, so far this season, 3346 (Sadly, there isn't a digit missing)

Just back from the game this evening against Liverpool. Although we lost 1-0 that was a really good performance from Town and with a bit more luck we would have had a point against last seaon's Champions League finalists.

A cracking shot comes back off the post when an inch the other way it would have gone in: a goal ruled out for inches offside: and a penalty ,that you've seen given , denied.

Anyone like to sell Rovers a goal? It's been over 9 hours now since we've managed to persuade the ball that the back of the net is the place to be. That great striking duo we bought from Shrewsbury in the close season are about as much use as Batman & Robin (that'll be the Delboy and Rodney version of the dynamic duo!) yell

Well, now I'm esconced in my bunker {& fully kitted out in body armour},  I'm  quite happy for a change. It's only cost me a small fortune checking  out the sports news, the TV news, some far away friends and three Saturday sports papers  as  well  as  the TV  MOTD on Saturday evening and Sunday morning  and  all to verify  the fact that "The Alex Won Away " yesterday !!surprised

Well their group of non English players do seem to be much better than the other top clubs' groups of non English players, K. But nothing to give much encouragement to any true  "Englanders"!  wink
