Travelling out of season

We are travelling to France next Monday and stopping around Troyes. We have the ACSI card and are wondering whether we just turn up or book in advance?

From my experience French sites are much quieter after the main summer holidays than before so there should be no need to book at all. As David says ACSI is designed as a means encouraging customers on what would be almost empty sites out of season. I don't know how long you are going for but one thing to watch as you go through September is that some sites start to close from around the third week of the month. Having said that there are still lots that remain open into October. Enjoy your trip.

You will probable know already that many site's receptions close at lunch, so I always phone to check if I think we will arrive before 1500hrs

HI All, thanks for all the valuable contributions... It is our first time in Europe so we weren't sure but will take the overwhelming advice and just turn up, rather than book in advance (which was expensive, when we checked). Mike
