It's started raining here now, although, thankfully, none of the thunder and lightening storms were were forecast.  We'll see what tomorrow brings.  Time for bed at 1.30am!

So what made you decide not to? You surely need it during these increasingly hotter summers! It's not just the heat but the humidity as well, especially if you are near the coast like we are!

I don't know about that, Mr. Route but I certainly got a right telling off by KjellNN and he got nine likes for that which means 10 people opposed to me altogether! So I better disappear again!

We visited Osborne House last year and like yourself, we thought it was brilliant. We also walked down to the private beach and sat on the bench there overlooking the Solent. We got free entry through English Heritage membership.

I think perhaps an aircon maybe a little more efficient at climate control than that, Trellis, plus the convenience of being able to operate it by remote control!

Yes but when you take into account the time spent on commuting plus extra time spent at work when they ask me to stay later during busy periods, those six hours can easily become 8 to 10 hours, cariadon! Then I like to have a couple of hours to wind down after I get home and before going to bed! Also I'm working evenings which is very different from daytime work! So it's not the aircon that does it! I would feel even more lethargic without it!

They try asking other drivers to stay later but they keep refusing. Someone has to do it and if no-one else is available, it has to be me!

As far as aircon is concerned, I'd rather compromise on weight and fuel economy than be killed by heat stroke, cariadon!

Nowadays, I spend very little on diesel for the Shogun to tow the caravan because I only move once every 21 days and then only 7 miles down the road to Littlehampton Club site. So we live very economically!

Sorry about so many consecutive posts but it is early in the morning and everybody else seems to be still asleep. So lets hope this is not interpreted as dominating the forum or trolling as is sometimes said on here! After all, you don't want me to become conspicuous in my absence, do you?

Good morning all, It is still raining here, a fine drizzle now, which will keep the farmers and gardeners happy. The temperature is a lot cooler.

I'm glad you enjoyed in New Quay and Ceredigion Helen. I love the area.

Happy holidays to those away, and hope those who have made large purchases recently will be happy with them.

I'm getting itchy feet, so time to plan another short break, the joys of being able to just go when we want to. Hopefully Husky you will be able to do the same next year when the shop is sold.

Oh dear, I just realised that that could be interpreted as jesting on my part, brue. I've been told that jesting is against the Community Guidelines because jokes can be misunderstood or misinterpreted! More reason for me to shut upsealed.

Good morning to you too, cariadon! Good luck with your holiday plans! No holiday plans for me, just work delivering pizzas! If I'm lucky, I might get next weeks rota this evening and there might be a couple of days off!

    Tempting fate?

Lovely day in East Norfolk, clear blue sky's and plenty of sunshine.  The predicted rain didn't put in an appearance last night, so no rain here since we returned from Germany on 6th June!

Finished dog proofing parts of the garden this morning.  Bird feeders and baths filled.  Saw a butterfly (large white) drinking from a bath yesterday.

    Let the invasion beginlaughing

Not so😢, but it would be if they were👍🏻😊 I’ve had to buy some chemical additive for the tap water so I can feed all my acid lovers.

Serious question M. What would they do if you said no, as you have every right to do. Would a manager deliver the pizzas?

If so few want to work later there has to be scope for negotiating a higher rate of pay, for say after 11pm. Worth a try, they can only say no, as can yourself to staying on later.

    We wish!

We did get a glimpse so things smelt a bit fresher but we're back to hot sunshine now. Good for all the families starting their holidays, often this part of July is wet as they start arriving in the south west.

I am sure you would like the CL Brue, handy for motorhomers as 2 small shops and a pub in the village, together with bus service only 5 minutes walk away.

Started off lovely and blue here at Brid. However, it has now greyed over. Temperature about 19C but no rain forecast. Perhaps a walk down to the coast later. Yesterday we caught the bus into Brid then the train to Filey and walked round the bay and as the tide was right out onto the Brigg, a narrow rocky promontory.

Having heard all the reports about the state of trains, new time tables and delays, we were pleasantly surprised that it was on time to the minute in both directions and the rolling stock was of very good quality.

We had some rain at Aberbran last night too, but it was very warm. Enjoyed a lovely walk along the river yesterday afternoon before the rain arrived.

This morning the sun is back, its our last day of this holiday, which we have really enjoyed, even the problem with the windscreen wipers has been fixed. Collected a new switch which OH bought off EBay at Sainsbury in Lampeter, slightly cheaper at £29 instead of £150+ that the landrover dealer quoted.smile

Will catch up with all posts at home, but hope all holidays and holiday planning are going well. Have a great weekend everyone.smile

+1. We had some moisture but not enough to wet the concrete or tarmac.

Could those with full waterbutts share please?
