We are not long home from a nice weekend at Ayr Craigie C&MC site. We had tried to get booked early last week but the site was showing full and even a call direct to the site didnt work as the wardens said the site was fully booked for the eeekend. We kept an eye on the website and luckily on Friday morning spotted a cancellation so quickly packed the van and made our way down there for 12pm (only 35 min drive). The site was indeed very busy and the weather was great lots of people sitting out enjoying the sun. Arrived home today and got the car and caravan all washed. Away on our main summer holiday in 11 days so will need to get the van all cleaned out inside and  packed ready for our 17 night break can't wait.

Beautiful DK. Did you know that the pollen stems on lilies are deadly to cats by the way? A lot of folks who grow lilies have to remove the anthers if they have cats as well. Bit of trivia.....laughing

I think most cars have air con these days, so we can all sit in an airconditioned car when it's hot. Will your EV have it.

My house is lovely and cool, no need for expensive aircon which is bad for people with respiratory problems. It's an old house which is cool in summer, and hot in winter.

To those that have posted pictures, they are wonderful to see, so glad that at last it can be done.

Well our early morning rain didn't last long and we seem to have avoided all the threatened thunderstorms. In fact, if anything it feels hotter and more humid than ever now. We changed the route of our walk from the coast path to inland so that there was plenty of shade for Lady (and us!). Back after a very pleasant lunch and relaxing with a cool Peroni watching the football ( well one of us anyway!) wink

Are you down in Cornwall again, M? We are hoping to get down a bit later in year. We don't half miss it.

Our trip to Skomer has been cancelled and rebooked for 9 July, gutted as Mrs One won’t make the new date.

Had a great walk on some of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Walk today, just got back to the car as it started to rain.  First rain ☔️ I’ve seen in nearly a month.

Yes, came down on Thursday for a week and a bit. Like the rest of the country we've been having a superb spell of weather for once (the standing joke down here on site is that we always bring wet weather with us!)

Let's us know if you do get down later on - must try to arrange that long overdue meet up! smile

Sorry to hear it's cancelled. Date not good if people have to travel and book to stay again. We haven't seen rain for about a month, hope your stay haven't jinxed our good weather. smile

Yes, it would be nice to say a proper hello. We have no set dates, in fact we are going to "wing" a SW tour if we can, try and  get three weeks away, something that has been impossible for last six years. After the fortnight deluge of S Wales last year, we shall look at weather forecast and head elsewhere if it isn't good. Hence not booking anything until we set off. I am putting together a list of possible stops, made up of no ehu CLs to anything with a swimming pool!

There you go you learn something every day! We don't have cats although I am sure a few pass through the front garden although they are usually en route elsewhere.

Finished the repair to the minor ding on the door sill whilst in France yesterday. Applied the final coat of lacquer and, would you believe it, I got a small run. yellyell

At least this hot weather will help harden it up so that I can try some judicious treatment with some 1200 grade W&D.

Awoke to another glorious morning 😃.  Walk to the dunes with the grand-dog about 6.30am still made the mistake of being overdressed 😲. Yesterday I popped a sweat zip up iver a top, this morning a thin bloke over sleeveless t shirt,  removed before I'd left the sight 😃. Fabulous sunrise I'll see if the photo is OK 😉, larks singing up high and the terns (nest area cordoned off) up and feeding. Stood in the dunes whilst dog had a pause and the larks were landing very close!

Great meal at the Crue last evening, thanks for the recommendation Oneputt.  I have posted on the other thread in case it's of use to others.

Brue we didn't get to pick up the bill either - DIL2B treat, she did lunch yesterday too! But we picked up boat hire and sites fees 😂😂

Sobs actual birthday today, banners and balloons out when I got back from walk. Then we went to Wroxham and onto Wroxham Barns as son is golf fanatic and they have a mini golf course. Website said opened at 10am and dog friendly golf opened at 11 not an issue but no dogs so we dog sat and watched.  DIL2B won by 1 stroke, he said it was really good as lots of ridges and bumps made it tricky 😂😂. We had tea and cake oh WOW, poppy seed and lemon deep deep sponge and almond bakewell tart with the best homemade jam I've tasted deep sponge and plenty of almonds.

They've left now, he's desperate to try out his custom made driver 😲😲 were all reeling from our contribution towards it 😂😂. All in all a fabulous weekend that went in a flash.

We've actually booked an extra couple of nights as the weather is so lovely.  Hard to believe we needed the heating on Friday to warm ourselves are the horse racing 😂. Need to sweep out all the dry grass from the motorhome! And contemplate a few stopovers including a visit to Sandringham.

    Cyberyacht shame about the run!

Oneputt shame about your boat trip. We did the Farne islands a couple of years back beautiful, wonderful and magic.

    Enjoy your day/evening folks

Last one really shows how dry it is here!

Hope you enjoyed the football! We've been up and down the M5 to see my Mum, just a short spell of rain on the way back, no sign of anything at home, so more watering to do. I hear Devon had the most rain. We had to leave the motorway on the way up due to a sad incident happening on a bridge which we saw being resolved thankfully (fast police actions and help) and on our way back there were rolling road blocks for those heading north. So much traffic in the good weather!

It's warm here now and we have an early start with the builders tomorrow.

Glad to hear the Bakers2 family had a good weekend.

Sorry about the cancellation OP, decisions, decisions...

I think the Lily growing looks very successful for DK. I bought a variety pack of different colours this year, planted them up and they all appear to be white!

Hope you have a good time on the IOW Francis, the weather continues to look good. smile

Of course ET. Belle Vue Fm, Guilden Sutton....No.78 in Site Directory. New to us but has been recommended. We've used a few around the city and a couple of commercial sited a bit further away, which I can recommend.

Where are you at the moment. How did your Scottish trip go?

Just thought I'd pop along to say a quick hello.  We're out in the van at the moment in Cornwall, enjoying the wonderful weather.  Making good use of the Cadac  although we did succumb to a pasty this evening.  Not bad with a glass of Prosecco - however unconventional.  😀

Your family weekend sounds lovely, B2 glad that you're having a great time.

Sorry to hear about the postponement of your trip to Skomer, OP. Hope that you are able to make it for next week.

Glad that the rain didn't last, M, and that you managed a good walk. More forecast for tomorrow for down there I think, but we could do with it up here, especially over the Lancashire moors.

Enjoy your stay down in Cornwall, David.

Hope that your builders turn up, brue. Next door to us are having an extension built and other work done. It was supposed to take about a month or so, that was 14 weeks ago and I very much doubt that it will be finished by the time we're back from our next trip. They seem to be doing a couple of days at a time and then disappear for a few, obviously to work somewhere else. I can't see how they get any money in!!

Thats looks like such a wonderful weekend Bakers2. Weren't you lucky with the weather. I love your grand-dog. What a cutie. The last photo looks like our lawn at the moment.frown. I hope you enjoy Sandringham if you go there. It is one of our favourites. Lovely walk to the house and also great walks around the estate. There is a good bus service from outside the gate of the site to Kings Lynn one way and Hunstanton the other. An excellent pizza oven van visits the site some evenings as well.

so sorry to hear that your Skomer trip has been postponed OP. How disappointing. A diificult decision for you.

We will have a look at the Stilton CL sometime nth.
