What a lovely morning we have walked round the village, met just about everyone with the same sunny thoughts so all out for a stroll with their dogs etc. Tried our new dog buggy, terrier happy sniffing the air, neighbours have called in, made some coffees. Now for a spot of cleaning as we have grandson overnight tomorrow whilst his parents work elsewhere.

Hope you all have a good day.

Doesn't work in our house either.

Beautiful morning here too. Life is so much easier with blue skies 😃 and rain overnight would make it perfect too. I expect we'd get bored with it 😉.

Brue you've made me feel guilty we were going to blitz the house, about time too 😲, but after a late start, glorious weather and generally aching from heavy gardening yesterday I'm postponing it until tomorrow 😃. Checked in the clubs great savings guide - nearest saving to us RHS Hyde Hall so once we're dressed 😲😲😲 yes that late a start 😲 that's our destination. A decent day for a nice summer frock too 😉.

    Enjoy your day folks

That does not work well here either, I just get an ear bashing, and then a lecture on how it should be done!

Sometimes I do get it right, but I have plenty of things to keep me busy so I am happy to leave the DW loading to OH.

Her complaint now is that I leave her with the unloading too.....must try harder!

Pretty dull here all day, bit still warm.  Yesterday was very hot and sunny, I was out all day at a local agricultural show where our woodturning club was entertaining the public by showing how we make various simple things.

Unfortunately we were in the big marquee with all the other entertainment......including a lot of very loud music.  My ears were really suffering!    It was also very warm in the marquee, which is not good when you are wearing a helmet and face shield and a thick overall.

OH agrees with you brue, knives go with blades down for safety, though they do of course come clean more easily with blades up.

Apparently a child was badly injured when they tripped and fell over the dishwasher door as the machine was being loaded, with the lower basket containing the cutlery holder being in the pulled out position.

Even the prongs of a fork can do a lot of damage if that happens.

Not so great weather this morning, some rain but still warm. Then this afternoon we had glorious sunshine again and managed another bike ride. Everything all packed up ready for our move tomorrow, will have to load the bikes in the morning but that's all.

There has been rumbles of thunder going round for the last 2 hours, we have watched the sky turn inky black but it has past over without a drop of rain on the site and no lightening.

MillieH, we are at camping Campeole Clairefontaine, wasn't sure when we arrived but we have really enjoyed it. We were going to a site at St Georges de Didonne, tried one didn't like it went to another, it was closed for lunch and didn't open for another 90 mins. OH is not for sitting and waiting so we decided to try Royan. Glad we did as we have cycled both directions to St Georges and to Palais sur Mer. Heading for Ill de Oleron tomorrow, have been to Re so thought we would have a look at Oleron to compare them. Haven't been to Talmont but we are back in September again so maybe then.

My dishwasher is a small narrow one ideal for 2 but I can manage up to a 6 place setting when family comes. This one was put in when we did the kitchen about 10 years ago. Previously we had a full sized one that lasted about 15 years, we gave it away when we had the new kitchen done, it was still working fine.

Sky is still black inland and still rumbles of thunder.

Sounds good Helen. We're on a site in Germany and there are several trees nearby which each have a Long Eared Owl chick in it. Suggest you Google their call and you'll see why we may not be so lucky with sleeping.

Weather still wonderful. Moved today to a site just north of Wurzburg on the river Main. Plenty of cycling, walking, wine tasting and pretty villages to explore for the next week.

Its been a scorcher of a day, smile Firstly we watched the cows amble down the field to be milked this morning. Went for a gentle stroll around the lanes before it got too warm, found the local pub at lunchtime. Then had a rather lazy afternoon embarassed

Took the dog for a run along the beach tonight, it was much cooler. Now sitting watching the swifts and a few Gold Finches while sun setting behind the trees. I could get used to this!!! laughing

Wherenext  ours are only Tawny Owls thank goodness wink,.

Tammygirl, we stayed a Bois Soleil (next to the beach) at St. Georges de Didonne many times over the years we were in that area and loved it.  The first time we went we tried the site the other side of the road first and I wouldn't even get out of the motorhome as I didn't like the 'feel' of it. Thunderstorms in that area are a sight to behold as they rumble around the bay for hours!! Glad you liked the area.  It is one of our favourites in France. Safe onward journey (as they say on an aircraft laughing)

With regards to domestic chores I have found the answer to be to develop a very bad memory (Altzheimerish) and after saying 'oops I forgot' that is usually the last I hear of anything.

Eventually, of course, the chores do get done but at my own pace and not hers!

Some of the new ones seem to use a very small amount of water. I would also suggest (probably get shot down in flames for saying this) more hygienic!!!!

Another lovely start to the day here with temperature at 20C.  Really busy morning ahead as we will be packing up, last minute shopping, tanking the car up before setting off at midday for this evenings ferry to Harwich.  Will use a non motorway route from here to well inside Holland which I prefer to tramping up the autobahns.

I’ve had a waste disposal unit for around 20 years and wouldn’t be without it, as you say no food waste and the associated smells. The only thing that it isn’t used for is large bones (leg of lamb size) and celery which just turns to string and clogs it up.

Actually  I'll be  at  the  Lister-Tynedale  Steam  rally  at  North  Nibley,  Dursley,  Glocs.  not  a  long  toot n hoot  from  Slimbridge  where  Sir  Peter  Scott  did  so  many  of  his  paintings  and  discovered that  the  beak ( or  bill )  markings  of  the  over-wintering  Bewick  swans  were  the  surest  way  of  identifying  individuals.

Well, I was lying in bed last night wondering how I was going to get to sleep with the racket that nature was providing when all of a sudden it was 3.30 am, and the Owl chicks were still begging for food. That was me done sleeping so guess I'll be tired tonight.

Lovely hot day. Went for a walk this morning and had a smashing time. Lazed this afternoon, seeking shade. Will go a late stroll later.

Couldn't agree more Tricky re the weather, grey overcast and odd damp drip, so glad we did Hyde Hall gardens yesterday - glorious sunshine. Today much more suited to the task of the day blitzing the housework 😲. Still all done now 😇😇.

Just put our fire on too milliehull 😲.  Glad you had a nice day out with grandchildren.

Had another visit from the Hotpoint engineer who fitted another fan to our oven. That's the 2nd in 6 months - glad I availed myself of their insurance!

Just had lovely chat to our son, I'd asked what he wanted for his birthday shocked to learn custom made driver 😲😲😲. Have said we'll make a contribution towards!
