Is the CAMC moving into the 21st Century?
I see the CAMC is advertising for a cleaner at one of their sites to clean the glamping accommodation and toilets. If successful is this a blueprint for the future?

It makes sense where additional cleaning is needed for glamping tents and pods. The wardens can’t do it all.
Blueprint? That’s rather an odd way of raising a question.

Tinners, The cleaner is not only cleaning but the toilets as well so this would be a break with tradition. I could have use the word "new plan" but I thought you would understand the phrase blueprint just as well.

Can't see it being rolled out universally, unless all sites get Glamping pods. However, with up to 10 pods, possibly all needing cleaning / bedding changing on the same day, it would be difficult for the wardens to do it. It would make sense for it also to include the toilet facilities, otherwise at slack times with only a few pods to service they might not be fully employed.

I think you maybe making too much of a pie about this Swifty.

The cleaner will be employed to clean. Obviously he/she will not have a contract specifying they will only clean glamping accommodation as they might be needed to clesn the toilets, the office, the information room..... The bottom line is that extra facilities mean extra cleaning work. It's common sense really and anyone who has ever drafted a job advert will understand the wording which you are reading in the way it suits you in an effort to imply ways may be changing. Jumping the gun there, methinks.
Blueprint - see JV's comment and we know he knows.

The CMC is definitely moving into the 21st century by providing Static accommodation for hire to encourage families and those who don't own a Caravan for whatever reason.
Employing extra staff to clean those units seems a bit excessive. By good time management, the existing on-site staff should be capable of completing that task.

By time management you mean the poor old Warden working 60 hours a week instead of 50 hours as is the norm now for 40 hours pay, the club have been using outside contract cleaners for years now on some sites I can think of three that have used these people most with usually a negative outcome IMHO (not as good as the Warden).

Perhaps you can provide an insight into the day of a warden? As a warden I know what little time we have on this site......

The sort of comments that come from non members as is Kennine, are just posted to try as usual to make without any success as usual ,discord on most posts without any real idea of what they are trying to say as they have no real up to date knowledge of the subject

Phil I agree wholeheartedly, which is, of course, why cleaners should clean, gardeners should 'garden', handymen/technical staff should deal with the infrastructure maintenance, office reception staff should 'receive/officiate' and wardens should 'warden'.....without distraction
while this model works very well in 'other places' it's not something the club seems interested in.....so it's 60 hours (and more) for the foreseeable, I'm afraid.....

Kennine, please let us all know what us camc staff who work on site actually do, it would be most enlightening.
Do you actually stay on club sites seeing as you are a non member?
if not how do you know what we do day to day?
Good dat to you

I was thinking the same.
Sorry, Gents, but you fell for that hook, line and sinker.
Never fear, us members know your worth. 👍🏻

...yes, getting 60 hrs work for 40 hrs pay seems well worth it
I thought the Feudal System died out centuries ago....

I think over 30 years of CC/CMC membership until last year gives a wonderful insight into the CMC sites management from a customer's point of view. After all who are the most important people on a campsite ? The customers of course. --------The on-site staff are there to ensure that their customers receive the best service possible. Which includes ensuring that the site and all the infostructure is kept clean and tidy.
Anybody disagree with that

I'm just wondering if you had so many happy years on club sites (must have been happy or why keep joining) that you took a secondment from both CT and club sites?

Good way of dragging the lurkers out K. Funny how it seems that the wind up non members on here provoke that sort of reaction, others try but the OP and K beat them hands down
I'll disagree with you K. I'll not elaborate as I don't need to.

Your silence is deafening Kennine, or have you become shy all of a sudden.
Im still waiting with bated breath your knowledge of what we do on a day to day basis for you to conclude we would have plenty of time to do other jobs on top of what we already do if we just time managed better.
Or perhaps you don’t know!!

As I read through this thread I think there is an error in the title. It should read "20th Century".
