Great atmosphere at City yesterday, what a difference a week makes!
And congrats to Mo Salah on winning the player of the year award, well deserved.

Accy Stanley's 15 game unbeaten run ended at Newport 🤨
The Champions spot will hopefully come on Saturday at home to Lincoln 😀🏆🏆
Talking of Champions- well done to Liverpool last night. I sincerely hope they thrash Roma in the return leg, particularly in light of the idiots who turned up to cause trouble.

Great times at New York Stadium following last year's calamitous season in the Championship. In League 1 play-offs already and hosting European U17's Championship matches including the final during May. Well done Manager Paul Warne & his backroom staff for proving so many supporters' (including me) wrong. Doubting Thomas' that we were! Up the Millers!

Well that's Championship football for us next season then. Two lessons Town should have learned by now:
1 if you're pressing high and you give the ball away in a dangerous position you'll get punished result 1-0;
2 if you don't clear your lines you'll get punished result 2-0.
The BBC pundit I heard on the way home reckons we need 3 points from the last three games, that's Man City away, Chelsea away and Aresenal at home in what could be Wenger's last match
Iike that's going to happen 😩

Keep the faith, anything can happen in football, and usually does!
Went to the Burnley v Brighton game yesterday. £20 pensioners ticket and travelled there on the bus, pretty good value for a Premier League game!
And did Gaetan Bong get some stick....😱

Thanks Pliers - much appreciated. Many of us 'oldies' remember Frank Casper, fbeing sold from our super side of the '60s , to Burnley. Our current problem in the play-offs could be we don't convert the numerous 'chances' that we often create. We have been winning games 1 - 0 when it should have been 3 or 4 many times. One on one with the goalkeeper is a major concern, but heigh -ho as Alan Shearer often says, "create chances & some are bound to go in". Further good news from NYS this week is we have just won the best ground in League 1 award. After tonight's results it looks like 'Scunny' in the play-offs. UTM

sadly I'm a Sunderland fan going down to the third tier for only the second time in the club's history. On the bright side our absentee American owner has done the decent thing by paying off our debt and "selling" (actually giving it away) to a pretty promising new consortium. Now we wait to see who our new manager will be (I vote Mccarthy) and how much money he'll be given to rebuild the squad. Fingers crossed!

I was hoping that Arsenal would get through last night, that would have given them a chance to rest the first team against us and save themselves for the final three days later. Sadly it's not to be and they'll really be up for it in what will be Arsene Wengers last match.

Well what do I know? When Southampton beat Swansea last night I thought we would have to get the point we needed to be safe against Arsenal in the last match or rely on relegated Stoke beating Swansea.
But we've done on our own. Unbelievable, the only team to keep a clean sheet at the Etihad this season and getting a draw at the Bridge, leading on 50 minutes, pegged back on 62 and those added 6 were the longest.
Well done Town 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Also congratulations to City and to Brighton

Not many people gave Huddersfield a chance a few weeks back, particularly looking at their remaining fixtures, so Yes! Huge Congratulations to them.
Cheerio Swansea (Surely the Saints won't concede 10 vs City???) but who will join Wolves & Cardiff next year in the Premiership?

Well done Town, but wheww, don't they put you through it, who'd be a footy fan 😱
Been a brilliant season for City, last game away at Southampton on Sunday. We have tickets and are taking the 'van down to Hunters Moon for a week. I'm very good at justifying a weeks holiday out of an away game!
Any CT people off to watch the World Cup?

Congratulations to all Champions, Promoted Sides and ( Yet To Be Decided ) winners of the Play offs.
Commiserations to all demoted/relegated sides -- there is a special challenge for next season .
May all those 'released' players & managers find a new home as befits their talents.
Special thoughts go out to all those Footy Fans about to suffer from the greatest, incurable illness known to mankind -- Withdrawal Symptons
And, Finally, may all those much maligned officials, the Referees & Their Assistants swiftly grow another, thicker, layer of skin !!

Not being single team man, those that I watch for most have either been promoted .... Blackburn Rovers & Tranmere Rovers, or survived .... Newcastle United, Barrow, and East Fife. So not a bad season all round.
