Watching the City -Liverpool game on tv last night I was wondering what the dickens those extra pair of noddies do at Champions League games? You know, the ones that stand on the goal line to see incidents that the the Ref and his pal miss. These 2 extra plods seem to need guide dogs as they never make a single decision. Couldn't that guy see that the ball rebounded off Milner for the City's disallowed goal? OK maybe the ref wouldn't see it as there were 2 players with their backs turned to him and the assistant was standing in a straight line looking at them but why bother having these numpties doing absolutely nothing. I speak as someone who grew up watching Liverpool and travelling all over the country to do so, so I have no axe to grind. City's goal should have stood and then it really would have been an interesting game.
Don't watch much footie these days. My interest died the day Juventus fans were killed as a result of the actions of some barbarians masquerading as true Liverpool fans. No football match worth that.

They don't do anything, Wherenext. I've been to quite a few Champions' League games now, home and away but have never seen any of them do anything.
A bad week for City, lost all 3 games, but as a fan for more years than I'm admitting to, nothing really surprises me. Spurs away at the weekend 😱, anything could happen!
Good luck to Liverpool in the semifinals, could be their year. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

GET IN. 90 minutes of huff and puff and one moment of magic . I'd just said to the chap sitting next to me that we wouldn't score if we stayed till midnight and then one of our subs pops up and scores.
I've just got home and seen a replay and the assist is a nutmeg through their right back's legs that's poetic justice because he'd been fouling all afternoon.

Gather round me young and old
A tragic tale I will unfold
A tale that's known to you and me
A tale of Chesterfield FC.
For years it's been our one ambitionTo see them in a higher division
But now, alas, our hopes are low
They're at the bottom, and rightly so
For hours and hours in pouring rainWe watch and pray but all in vain
Same old story, same old tale
Open goals and shots that fail.
Oh, Chesterfield, give up the ghostPlough up the field, saw down the post
Take down the flags, pull down the Stand
And let us cultivate the land
Then let us all with one accordOn bended knees implore the Lord
Prepare the pitch up there in Heaven
And sacrifice the whole eleven.

So Sad a Tale, K & M !!
I remember those years in the 50's, before automatic relegation became the norm, when Crewe Alex went so very regularly, on bended knees to implore anybody who would listen that they were worthy of staying in the League, Division Three North !!
Re-election was, for Crewe & a few other sides, rather like the annual visit to Prestatyn by train, for a holiday in one of those chalet thingies modelled on up market WW 2 prison of war camps !! Oh yes I remember them well.
Just go thro the non-league tables & see those that never made it back, like Bradford PA, Southport etc etc.
But As Roger Papgeno keeps telling me -- " Have faith "

Fizz in the fridge, flag in the window!
Who'd have thought it!
And congrats to The Wolves on their promotion.
Think I'll take the flag down in the morning or the parish council will accuse me of lowering the tone of the village 😱

Who would have thought it? After denying their arch-rivals a week ago, United hand the title to City!
"Funny old game, Saint"
Congratulations to Man City, probably the most deserved winners of the Premiership ever.
Looking forward to seeing how Derek Dougan's old side get on next season too 🏆

And don't you take too much for granted JonRay !!
I think you've got Yeovil this week and, even tho' they are not doingtoo well, they did thrash Coventry by 6 and that was away as well.
"Uneasy Lies The Crown" well at least 'til the Trophy's in the display case

Well done to City. My OH, a City supporter only because the rest of her family are reds, stopped being really interested when player power allegedly got rid of Mancini.
I've enjoyed watching them on the Telly this season, I even enjoyed the match at our place, though not the result.
Hopefully we'll meet again next term, last night's result at the London Stadium was more or less what we needed now if Leicester can beat the Saints on Thursday we'll be another step nearer safety.🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

OH! My head hurts....please, no shouting!!
Brian, you could've called in and raised a glass with me (only 5 miles from Audlem)
After standing on the terraces (well before the roof was erected) and watching in all weathers, with gates of a couple of hundred, to see Stanley come marching through non-league and then eventually back into league football in 2006, has been more than a pleasurable experience!
To see 11 lads on the pitch on a Saturday afternoon, giving it their all, irrespective of their skill level, has made a refreshing change from watching mediocre and boring football in the Premiership (with the exception of Man City this season)
My most memorable night was seeing Stanley knock ex European Cup winners Notts Forest out of the League Cup - but then there have been so many. Long may it continue
Where's the paracetemol?
