Still no broadband so I'm limping along with my mobile hot spot.

We had some great pictures in WhatsApp from my eldest daughter and family who are holidaying in America at the moment.cool They are visiting quite a few well known locations. They spent yesterday looking around Universal Studios and rode on the Hogwarts Express, the grand-kids loved it.laughing

People working beyond 65, oh yes plenty do it.

One of our neighbours is 78 has a heart condition, is a diabetic but still works 5 days a week, not going out to work but helping other people, cutting hedges, grass, building sheds anything he can do he will.

Another friend is 79 he still gets calls from garages asking him to deliver cars, caravans and MH's all over the country.

While on holiday we met up again with 2 sisters who holiday there every year, one is 77 and still helps out in the office of her sons business. Her sister is a very young 83 and still works (supervisor) at her hospital, hours vary but usually 4 days of about 5 hours, she walks both in and out to work, in fact she walks everywhere as she doesn't drive.

My BIL is 74 and still works on a Saturday morning for 5 hours cleaning windows, he started doing this about 5 years ago to help his friend out who had broken his ankle, at that time he was working 4 days a week, now down to just the saturday.

Its all about how you feel, neither of us fancies going out to work again but are both busy with other kinds of things.

OH is busy with his lunch club and he's the Chairman of the village development trust + of course all the DIY I keep asking him to do.

Me I guess I'm a bit like Malcolms wife, I'm always busy doing things around the house and the garden when its dry enough to do so. I clean all my own windows (bungalow) paint all the fences and sometimes I even wash my own car wink I've never been known to have a sleep in the morning and or the afternoon though, I rarely go to bed before 23.30 and I'm just a little younger than Malcolm, while OH is a couple of months older smile

Oh brue, how sad but how lovely that he managed to live long enough to work on some projects that he loved.  Every moment of life is precious.

Sounds like a grand weekend, Francis. Glad that you're having no problems with the new van, long may that continue. You've been away on more trips than us this year, this is only our second but we have been away for than 60 nights so far.wink. Home for us in a couple day and then off again in about 3 weeks for a good long trip of perhaps 10 weeks.

Lovely sunny day up on Yorkshire. Moved on to Cl at Clapham for our last few nights this trip. OH did a clothes wash before we left the site and we had it out drying by 1:00. All dried by the time we came back from our afternoon walk, now ironed and away, Saves one washer load when we get home.laughing

Sorry to hear about your niece, OP. Hope that the radiotherapy works for her.

Good Morning, Looks like another lovely day. Yesterday was bright and sunny and the temperature reached double figures, cold in the shade though.

Getting the caravan ready, and planning to be away by end of the week,  staying on CL's in Cardiganshire. We have no plans or timescale, just glad to be out in the caravan again, it has been a long time between health and weather.

Hope everyone has a good day.

At the moment, it seems not! Hopefully, the doctor will become more aware now that I have attended diabetic clinic. The nurse said that I could be blood tested for haemoglobin in the next visit on 3rd April.

The weekend has wizzed by, we had lovely weather yesterday so we went to Charlecote Park, enjoyed a walk round the park and looked round the kitchens, carriages, and laundry rooms, didn't venture inside the main house, the weather was too good to be inside this time.

Managed to get to Aldi for the caravan bargains, so now all stocked up,  even bought a couple of bags for the aquaroll.

Have been for a last walk round the field this morning with the dog, all trees and bushes cleared,  😲 😢 the contractors arrived as we came away to put up the fences ready I suppose for the building work to start. Will have to change our dog walking route.

Oh so envious 😉. Still not thought about trips this year 😢. We have checked our motorhome in storage and all appears well 😃.  Almost finished house and garden catch up so will be booking his MOT very soon and then we can plan or be impulsive!

    Enjoy your day folks.

Not such a nice day in the Cotswolds , it clouded over early but still dry and much colder than yesterday,

went to the, it seems, much vaunted Cotswold water park the bits we saw were still to wet to do much walking and also in much need of "looking after"

Unfortunately yes  Bakers2.  It's been planned for a while, we have had an extra few years. There is supposed to be a path/cycleway along the canal but I doubt we will have access while they are building.

Lovely sunny morning here in Worthing too!

We plan to go for a walk up Highdown Hill, have a picnic lunch using the picnic benches provided there and visit Highdown Gardens.

It's an easy walk from the CMC site here at Northbrook Farm. You just turn right out of the site entrance, cross over the road, Titnore Way and then follow the footpath to the right of the housing estate next to Titnore Lane. When you reach the opening gate on to Titnore Lane, cross over and walk up the path next to the house opposite with all its solar panels on the roof! It's more like a driveway than path at that stage. Eventually, you come to the footpath that goes up Highdown Hill. You can walk past the gardens further up the hill on to the National Trust land up there. From there, you can get magnificent views of the coastline and you can see the Isle of Wight across the sea.

No need,H&T. Plenty of sunshine right here! After our walk up Highdown Hill, we plan to drive down to the coast at Ferring and walk along the sea front between Ferring and Goring with its open views across agricultural land with the hills in the background.

Bright and sunny with not a cloud in the sky when I got up this morning, hard frost though on the grass and cars.

OH not so good this morning, in a lot of pain and the site of the Op very hot, pulse quite fast so call to Dr needed. Great service at our practice come straight down we were told, he checked him out and sent him up to hospital for the ortho's to look see. Again great service straight through the clinic (sorry folks waiting) saw registrar there, quick check of OH's operation notes, nodding of head yes you will be very sore. Seems it was a nasty Op as he had 2 things going on, so lots of pain to be expected, explains why fast pulse. However the consultant came and looked at it as well and happy that there is no infection, wound nice dry and clean. Warned OH it might swell up a bit more and heat is normal after so much prodding and poking around. Suggested ice packs to help with the heat and inflammation (Oh can't take anti inflammatories) keep taking the pain killers and try to move the arm often as this will help. Do come back if its no better or gets worse by the end of the week. Like Oneputt OH has had great service from NHS no complaints from us.

Might get out in the garden for an hour later on, sky has clouded over a bit so will have to wait and see after lunch. Catching up on admin and other tasks.

Good  Luck  with your  decision  making  HD,  just  don't  throw  that  alarm  clock  away  too  soon !!  You  might  not  need  to  set  it  for 5:00  am  you know  surprised,  but  you  might  need  it  to  take  you  from  some  tasks**  on  the  m/home  and  to  remind  you  to watch  the  "  Find  a Pitch  Charge "  on  which  ever  Honey pot  site  you're  using  innocentlaughing.

But  if  you  DO  retire,  Will  I  have  to  call  you  Husky  Dog  instead  of  Husky  Pup  ??

(  **  tasks  like  ==>  making  that  extra  cup  of  coffee,  or  thinking  of  who  to  ring  for  a Pizza,  or  fluffing  up  those  cushions  on  your  relaxer  innocent  )

Just back from my Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm scan and the results look good. Apparently they start to worry if your aorta is more than 3cm and mine is a healthy 1.7cm. So no need for further checks or to go back for the nurse to rub more gel into my abdomen! (My blood pressure was slightly higher after that!) wink

Good luck with your planning, HD. My only advice would be, having made the decision stick with it. No point looking back. It was the best decision I ever made, much though I loved the job I was doing. smile
