Why not abroad?

But you do read lots of comments on here from people who have been to York/Bath/Bristol again. Even those visiting Yorkshire for a 2nd consecutive year will probably revisit some of the coastal towns again - yes they are very nice but so is the rest of the world.

Again, all down to personal choice, swiftly.
When we were both working our holiday time was valuable so we wanted to be pretty sure that we'd get the best out of our time away and so we might revisit places we knew we'd enjoy.
But I do agree with your earlier post in that now we're retired we want to travel further afield and see different parts of the world. So the same site or hotel year after year would not be for us.

But so what! If people enjoy doing that then who are you to say they are wrong. Get of your preaching box and accept everyone is different and enjoy their lives in the direction they choose.
You keep coming back under a new registration and stir the s***, again and again.

And like a dog with a bone just can’t let it go.

Oh, David, you've just made my day. I’ve not laughed so much for ages.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Swifty2018, may I ask what difference it makes to you where everyone goes? Why do you choose to tour in a caravan not a motorhome? Why do you choose to support foreign economies over our own by going abroad? Do I actually care about the answer to either of my last 2 questions? (No). Its all about personal choice isn't it? We all come to this for different reasons and we all take something different away from it, which for me personally is part of the beauty and appeal of it. Isn't this forum supposed to be about being a community of campers? I think its sad when that forum is then used to go from general curiosity to trying to alienate elements of that community. Can't we just embrace our differences and accept that if we all wanted the same thing life would be very boring? Just my humble offering to your debate.
Happy camping all, wherever your travels may take you.

Daisy, why do you take such offence to a simple question. I just like to ask. If I asked you what your towcar was would you be just as aggressive?

Love it, I have been waiting for you to make a fool of yourself
Oh you poor boy, you kept making references to it and all this time you thought you had something bigger than the Wikileaks scandal.
So sorry but I couldn't phone you as I didn't have your number, I am still registered under my own name, but Rowena kindly arranged my username change as the old one related to my previous car, so I have a more generic one now.
I did start a thread <HERE> in introductions for all to see at the time, but as you don't frequent that thread to invite newcomers, you obviously missed it.
Hope this has cleared it up now, and so sorry to have spoilt your day
I might even report you for defamation or I could accept an apology

Daisy, be aware that this thread is a total wind up.

Why, though, assume there was something underhand going on? I fear that says a lot about you, David.
It's not been your best time, has it? Firstly missing clues about one poster who is an imposter and then falsely accusing an innocent member.
2 -
Yes, sure.
It tells me that you seem to assume the worst of people and don’t stop to consider that you may not be correct before jumping in and casting apersions on someone's character.
Well, you did ask, David.

That’s your job, Husky

Well one thing is for sure, Swifty must be well pleased with this thread.
Plenty of handbags at dawn thrown in for good measure.
It beats the tv anytime.

Oh, you edited. "Goodbye" has become "Bye for now".
See you later, then.

Assuming swifty is a new poster on the forum (), I hope he/she will have learnt at least that when posing a question it is not a good idea to immediately give your own (arguably offensive) answers and certainly not to then rule out a possibly quite reasonable answer.
The question "why do some people choose not to tour abroad?" on its own would probably have brought about a more reasoned debate and avoided the answers to the alternative question "why do some people choose to tour abroad"
Hopefully swifty will have realised this now.

Moulsey, I take on board all your points and I did realise very soon that it was a rushed and clumsy post. However even if it had been worded better it would probably still have resulted in the entrenched views .
I have never been to Costa Rica but I would never say I won't ever go but it is just not currently at the top of our list.
