This year a lot of schools don't break up until the afternoon of Maundy Thursday 29 March and return on 16 April.
In 2016 it was the same timing and the M5 was gridlocked Good Friday into Saturday. Not the best way to spend a BH. Fortunately we split the break into 2 locations, Cheddar CAMC (£32/night) and Ruda (£28/night inc facilities for families) at Croyde, travelling Good Friday morning and Easter Day morning, returning home on the Weds after Easter Monday due to leave availability.
Last year, Easter was later, but gridlock was the same.
A straw poll amongst other parents in our social circle indicates few will travel to that part of the country, and more and more families are avoiding BH weekends due to traffic gridlock and raised prices, be it camping or hotels or any type of holiday. We are not doing further BH trips where fees are raised after Easter. Easter will be forever to honour father in law by going to his grave, so we will pay the rate to be there.
Another factor this current academic year is the non ability to take children out of school, that in our locale is reducing families taking inflated price holidays.

Swifty, Cody said that he wouldn't pay those CMC prices so they aren't down by that much. If they reduced their price to the quoted competition then Cody may have given his money to CMC, ie at £21 per night. He also didn't actually say he would be staying for 14 nights just that CMC are charging the higher price for 14 days after Easter.
We have to take his word that he would have paid "a couple of hundred pounds".

Pitches 7, 10, 13, 23, 26, 36, 60, 99 and 101 are non awning this year. They may not all be open later in the season though.
Can't get involved with regard to pricing sorry.
If Gwithian farm is £21, be sure to check if you're bringing an awning and / or pets, it's the hidden extras you know. Also be sure to pack some cotton wool for your ears, trust me you'll need it, I've stayed there on some rest days, never again

Go for stay at Godrevey Park say mid to end of April and it's £17.10 per night v £21 at Gwithian Farm.
Go midweek and it's £15.15 v (still) £21 at the farm.
Oh dogs are £1 per night per dog at the farm, does anyone know the price for dogs at club sites

And the pitches are closer together than at Godrevy. It’s opposite a pub which can be a two edged sword. It’s very popular with the surfing community - that is, the ones who don’t wild camp on the cliff top.

Where did that price come from? Midweek £6:60 per person plus £3:90 per pitch (MWD) gives a total of £17:10, full price is £21:00. Peak is £29:90

still think the farm is a rip off though, using emotional blackmail with those who want to take their dogs along
My point is the prices are displayed clearly ( if unlike me you can read them properly of course) and openly for all to see and make up your own mind, a rip off as the OP seems to suggest some cover up or deception by the club, or the farm even.

I won't let my experience change your judgement or opinion of any site. I merely stated you might need some cotton wool for your ears as some campers like to enjoy their holiday further into the night than you may appreciate. As there is no "policing" of any rules you may follow what many campers that have stayed there and come to our site for some respite and relaxation!
For peace and harmony, I'll just say, other sites may have hardstandings to park on but does that really give you all you require for a fantastic holiday near the beach?

Its a fantastic site, the problem was the warden.
I stayed on it for several weeks in the August holidays about six years ago. Kids riding bikes in the dog walk, using the circular road as a race track, bored teenagers making noise late into the night outside peoples caravans by the top of the site, one idiot let his small child drive round the road anti clockwise in an electric car !
we had a few days of respite when relief wardens came on whom took control, totally different site, then back to the regular warden who just didn't want to know.

Oh how I agree with that- the warden is the key to a good holiday on a CC site and in the past I have found that a grumpy warden or a jolly warden makes such a difference on your outlook! but since I am now a non gridder- the problems of excessive charges, noisy sites, speeding cars, and even worse- a bad or idle warden, have all disappeared. Apart from the obvious cost savings, they are the other benefits that I hadn’t thought about. £8 a night whether it’s Easter or high season in Norfolk first then off to Wales with sea views and spanking countryside for £7 a night.

CCC have what seems a fairer system over the 2 week period:
30/3 - 7/4 - high season
8/4 - 14/4 - mid season
CCC members aged 60+ receive an Age Discount during mid and low seasons.
Even better value for those who are happy with a grass pitch with ehu - according to the ACSI Camping Card book a number of sites, including some in Cornwall, are offering the ACSI Camping Card price throughout all of the Easter holidays.

There's a CL at Gwithian. Set back off the road, away from busy site. Not sure when it opens though, or what facilities, but always looks a nice spot.
