The normal over 60s discount is 25%.

OH also got the e mail, but none of the sites we have booked are included in the offer.

I think that the 10% was an addition to existing discount but I only skim read.

I reckon they'll have done that already. We all know that the very few of us old codgers on CT are in no way representative of the membership as a whole.

And the difference is maybe choosing another holiday option.

    a) the evidence doesn't seem to support that

    b) good, demand exceeds supply as it is

    c) what about safety?

I suppose once upon a time people couldn’t understand, maybe the previous generation to you, the need for electric hook ups, hard standings and a laundry room to wash and dry clothes etc, but it seems to me most people on here like some of these ‘luxuries’, and possibly would choose other holiday options if they weren’t available.

So the young family that does not have a caravan decide to buy one instead of an 'all inclusive summer holiday because they can get a Tesco delivery? I think not.

They need EHU because that is the way there caravans are set up and gas is dear.

What makes me laugh is that there are some posters on here who would like certain changes, able to book hard standing, is one example. They are quite happy to encourage that to be made available to the users, because it suits them, but someone else asks for something they want and it’s instantly attacked as a needless, undesirable and bad idea. 😂

Many, young and old would prefer hardstanding but that does not seem to put them off using CC sites.

If the club allows shopping deliveries, then surely the people who don’t want it don’t have to use it, and as some people are so fond of saying on here, if they don’t like the resultant affects on sites, they are free to leave.

You seem certain that 'young families' want food deliveries. Maybe they do but I have no evidence of a great desire for much of their caravanning time. Have you? Or are you thinking that they would rather than knowing? Are you as guilty as you seem top infer others are of 'knowing what is best and what everybody should have'?

Third paragraph, I think you might find it wasn't about change but more to do with their accounting and failure to pay the bills?foot-in-mouthyell

We are as it goes trying to find a way forward with deliveries when we get back next week. It will obviously be site specific as access is the key issue in trying to maintain a safe environment.

Does that mean the club intend to increase traffic on narrow country roads? Are they pandering to the big supermarkets rather than local businesses?

It's always good to hear what really happens from people who actually stay on club sites? Rather than what should happen by people who don't?

Post edit, sorry was supposed to be one post above but user errorsmile

It's another 'No' from me too.

Imagine the comments on here from people whose shopping arrived late, or not all? Wouldn't all deliveries have to take place after the sites' earliest arrival times?

Do you mean that deliveries would be allowed at all sites but arrangements would be site specific. Or that deliveries would only be allowed at certain sites.

If the later, would this not lead to confusion, with folk just going ahead and ordering, because they had on the last site.

Folk surely are not that dim and confused, knowing that a phonecall to the site would instantly give them the answer before they arrive, or enquire at the desk on arrival.

I'm not sure Steve, it's this leading to confusion that will be the decider I think. Our input will be down to finding a safe area to park and deliver if possible, or not. The powers that be make the decisions don't forget, not us at the sharp endundecidedfrown

My personal opinion from my experience is " go and support local businesses"

yes so exactly the same as over here then!

But that's not what you said:

I see the CAMC sites as tidy and respectable dormitories for the older generation but for a family holiday I cant think of anything less like an "adventure"

Are you saying your kids did all that swimming and walking and 'adventures' while you did the chores?

PS we never prepared picnics and everyone washed up and helped.

What are you saying 'JK', we as customers can't think straight and are easily confused when traveling to different sites. I might not be the brightest compared to 30 years ago, but even I can think of ways to ensure I can get an answer on deliveries to site before making that call to Tesco, or wherever.

Just don't allow delivery drivers on site, what happens outside is not the Wardens concern. Just make sure the sign is clearer than the CL ones.

So your saying that delivery vans will not be allowed on site roads, just at a specific area?
