I think I would have been tempted to keep your big car for next few days Malcolm, if snow is as bad as it sounds down there. Keep safe tonight...

OH has joined me up in the MSE Credit Club, this gives you access to your monthly Experian credit report FREE, so I was just reading what is on mine and what MSE say is good or bad, it was quite interesting as I have never read it before.

Everything looked correct, so that is OK.  Not planning on applying for any new credit cards or loans anyway.

It appears I am using 19% of my available credit at present as I have an interest free purchase card that we are using to keep the money earning 5% interest in the bank meantime.

What I found particularly interesting was that your so called  credit score does not depend on your income, but MSE comment was that if you have unsecured debt (credit cards and personal loans) you should worry if that comes to more than 50% of your income.

The other interesting comment was that banks are more likely give you a credit card if they think they will be able to make money out of you!

So if your credit report shows that you repay everything every month, or repay your interest free card at the end of the term, they are less likely to give you a new credit card.

Very little snow here so far, and fairly sunny.

OH has been busy washing the baby clothes we stored in the loft etc, ready to pass to DD.

Between gifts and hand-me-downs, this  baby will have more clothes than he can possibly wear, and his parents will not need to buy anything other than nappies for at least the first year!

Having a few days at Broadway, have had lots of snow showers through the day, at the moment it has gone very dark and quite a blizzard blown up, can barely see the vans across the site road. Good to see the railway extension almost finished, trains are due to start running into Broadway station mid March. Watched the permanent way gang finishing off track ballasting earlier on this afternoon whilst taking the dog for a walk in the small dog area, she wasn't very happy with the large diesel loco. As I type it's suddenly stopped snowing again. We will make a decision tomorrow whether to leave in the afternoon as we don't like the look of what is forecast for Thursday, particularly back home.

Acts of God do not feature in Insurance these days, any exclusions are clearly listed.  As ET said, only if your property is in a poor state of repair are you likely to find your claim reduced or refused.

That's fine. I have more than enough of those. Had two in the last couple of years and not paid interest on any for 20 years laughing

I have suggested several times that people, by replying, encourage the posting to continue.

Perhaps those that respond have some interest in those posts and therefore ignore your suggestion David.

We were due to have a two night stop over at Broadway travelling down from Yorks, I think we will just keep going and head for home. Difficult to judge the situation just now, good luck with your onward journey.

Malcolm has been posting and getting responses since 1 am this morning, it would be good for others to chat at some point?

There is plenty of opportunity for anybody to post Brue. I and others have done so without hindrance.

Back home now, log burner lit and all cosy, ready for the next flurry of bad weather.

On the way home spotted a rough legged buzzard🦅

Put our old mattress out for council to collect and was duly collected for the reasonable sum of £12

The fact is Brue that Malcolm's posts seem to generate more interest than yours or mine regardless of what DK or WN may say

Spoke too soon, we now have snow, fairly big flakes, but it is -0.7 degrees so the snow is lying.  Only a little so far.  Only intermittent.

Malc, did you even ask about it. Lots of folk over 65 are still working.

Another couple of heavy snow flurries but its not laying on the roads just on the grass and roofs, long may it last.

Went into town and filled up the car with fuel, popped into sister to give her the spare key and her orders on what plants need looking after.laughing

OH has started sorting his clothes out now so when he's done I'll go though and change it all laughing the morning after we get back he is due in hospital for his Op so it will be an early rise that day as he has to be there by 7.45 having phoned first to check there is a bed for him.

Imagine how disappointed we are! Week in a lovely cottage high up on NY Moors, not a snowflake! We were forced to play in fords in our Jeep. Home 48 hours, and now the whole area we were holidaying in is under lots of snow! We've only had an inch or so here. Timing is all.......frown

Having said that, keep safe everyone!laughing

There is apparently a minimum income needed before you can claim SSP,Malcolm may well be below that.

Hope you get to the airport OK TG, the forecast is for bad weather all of tomorrow in the central belt.

Having escaped most of the snow since we arrived on Sunday, we are due to leave Poolsbrook CAMC site tomorrow, we've had snow this evening and it has stuck.  We're not too far from the Motorway, so I guess I'll be checking out the roads between the site and the M1 before setting out.  If I can make it to the Motorway, I reckon I'll be fine...

We had about 2" or so of snow overnight, although it's been sunny on and off during the day with a few flurries, this evening it's started to snow again. The site's roads had cleared during the day but are now white again. We wandered down to Asda this morning and then round part of the nature reserve adjacent to the site. Flyte loved it, running free and rolling in the snow. After lunch we walked along the Teeside path one side of the river to Newton Bridge and back along the the other side to the barrage. Have cancelled our next site, up on the N.Y.Moors above Whitby and instead are stopping here till Sunday. Very fine damp snow on a strongish wind now, Yuck!frown
