Clearly lots of people who post on CT have or will attend the show. I would encourage them all to collar someone from the Club and mention the forum. I think there is a lack of understanding amongst senior management of how important Club Together is to members. Clearly from the Chairman's comment that he thought not so many people were using CT that could be a common thought in senior management so we have to make the case when we get the opportunity, either at shows or via Club events around the country.

Tried replying last night David but the site went into Maintenance Mode !!
I only saw One senior looking chappie in Club Attire altho lots of keen youngsters.
The Chappie, late fifties, grey hair, portlyish, who I spoke to said he new of CT, when I asked if there were any CTers around, just said " It's MY team that runs that" then he turned and walked away. Obviously CT & I were too insignificant for such as Him to fret about. And that was on 'Club Day ' too.

At least you made the effort. If a few more do it might just start to register.

Was there yesterday, mentioned CT but as said in previous post...not much interest from above. I get the feeling it will be left to continue as is and die a natural death...Also tried to discuss RP and the massive variation in cost/terms between other readily available products eg C&CC. No joy there !!!!..

Sorry to hear of your problems with numbness in your feet....I too was tested for Diabetes when i suddenly noticed numbness in my toes. Test came back clear with a good result. Like yourself the doc referred me a neurologist who ordered an MRI. Turns out a my brain had suffered a small 'hit' and diagnosed me with Ataxia...Neuropathy (numbness) is part of that. Only mention because numbness in feet/hands can be attributed to many other factors than Diabetes. Good luck.

Hi guys,
Me and the wife are going tomorrow, but I haven't booked tickets yet! Do we get a discount for being club members as it does not seem to offer that on the NEC website?

I was there today and was very encouraged with the response I got...
1) met the new Lunar Customer Service dept, name of Kirsten - a one-girl band atm but promised more recruits coming soon, who has promised to chase up my repair and call me tomorrow (friday) then...
2) got two very good trade in offers for our van regardless of the waiting repair which was very reassuring.
3) I like a slow day, which wednesday often is I believe, what with Club days and being midweek for workers, the dealers are much more likely to give you their undivided attention - we had three free coffees and others offered which we turned down .
Had lunch at the Club Stand and saw several Execs including a VC, I was wearing my CT gilet but no-one I didn't already know approached me. But then like most members I didn't go to promote CT just to look at vans and speak to the dealers. Yes there was a CT presence a few years ago but that was when it was launched, for the staff that run it the week days are office hours hence Rowena going at the weekend now I suppose. Any forum is an on-line thing I don't think it really needs promoting at a show so much now, after all it has enough members, and if we have questions we ask them here, the Club stand is for those who want to ask in person and maybe don't go online at all.
All in all an excellent day out if a very long one

My point about bringing it to the attention of Club Staff, as I did with the Chairman, was to raise awareness so that people don't get the impression it is half a dozen of the same people using it so there is no need to bother. I am pretty sure that this version of the forum is a lost cause anyway and we won't see anything beyond essential work to keep it going. This website, bookings/reviews/forum has 400000 signed up members and whilst I appreciate the forum is probably the least used part of the website there are sufficient users for it not to be ignored. Hopefully the Club will eventually be forced into using some off the shelf software at some point in the future but I understand there are a couple of big mainstream projects in the offing that will take up a lot of resources and money so I don't expect many changes in CT any time soon.

Glad you had a good and productive day out, Alison.
Sadly I'm going to disagree with you w r t the Forum -- It might not need promoting so much now but alas as far as CT goes it's slowly reducing in numbers for one reason or another and for that reason, if nothing else, A little Presence and Publicity not requiring lots of staff Or cash could be profitable in terms of numbers and smiles on here.

I too am having trouble with numbness in my toes and my foot has a mind of it's own. Unable to lift toes or foot and walking like a Thunderbird puppet! Tested for diabetes, nothing, had MRI on back, nothing, had MRI on knee area (as had arthroscopy last year), awaiting results, awaiting 'urgent' nerve conductions tests 8 weeks and counting! Partial diagnosis of 'drop foot' but trying to find cause - possible damaged nerve in knee area following steroid injection to knee. Whatever it is, it's worrying that at only 50, I appear to have lost the full use of my foot. Seriously worried about loss of feeling, possible no recovery and possible eventual amputation - very scary stuff!
But back to the show - visited today, went to look at Coachman centre washroom, end fixed bed. Didn't like them in the flesh, saw a Challenger 530 same layout as current van, deal done with Leisure World, caravan bought - eeeekkk! Now to pay for it!

Try not to worry too much...Amputation is linked mainly to diabetes...I had the hit on my brain when i was 50 and took a further year to fully diagnose...like yourself with nerve conduction tests etc etc.. Now 25 yrs later I can report that the 'slow progression' as the consultant put it...has been extremely slow and has only slightly affected my lifestyle even after self decision to come off medication 10 yrs ago........good luck.

We visited the NEC show on club day, and arrived about 9.45am and were surprised at the amount of people already there, we never change, always early to get the best pitch,. When we were at last years show we were very interested in the Knaus Starclass range of vans, so this time we have taken the plunge and brought a Knaus Starclass 565 that is going to be shipped over from Germany in a few weeks time. Has any of you made a big spend on a van or motorhome or awnings.

£21 of finest Welsh Cheese, the most I've EVER spent on that stuff in one go.
As for more serious purchases -- alas, no -- I just start & use these threads as light relief, away from the Daily Grind ! { And That's not my choice of newspaper either }
