Back home now after our recent sojourn. We enjoyed Somerset, but the weather could have been kinder. Stopped off at Malvern for a couple of nights on the way home. Nice CL and owner. Only one on site with a wonderful view of the hills.
Opening post. Funny how I only get mail now from the banks or utility companies.Oh and a club magazine.

We have recently bought 2 new ebikes from 50 cycles, these ones are full sized pedelecs.
The ones we had before were Prorider folding bikes, 20 in wheels. We've had them coming on 5 years now and been happy with them, 6 gears and 3 levels of assist. Still got them but OH wanted to get full pedelecs as we were getting lazy(he says) also much more miles from the battery between charges.

Glad that you've had a good trip, WN, however we've all had very similar weather so you've not missed anything special in that respect by being "darn sarff".
Guess all the post went straight into the bin, then.

We thought the CAMC magazine was a total waste of time. Such a shame as we used to enjoy it. Some of the letters made you want to weep, especially the debate about the size and price of outfits. I hope we never meet any of these people on a site.

Enjoyed a sojourn to Taranaki visited gardens by day and one lit up at night. Boat trip on an old lifeboat built in 1952 in Cowes IoW, lots of seals all in the water because of the heat a few baby ones on the rocks - no dolphins or orca 😢. Too hot until Wednesday to walk on hard surfaces heat bouncing back up 😲. But swum in rivers 😆 West coast, Tasman sea, tends to be rather strong. Had view of sea from motel room and watch 4 ships arrive and anchor off shore remains of cyclone Fhei came through. Lots of damage in the South Island and bottom of North Island. Managed to see the full moon but not witness the red here at 2am. Drove back up on the forgotten highway, including 12km of unsealed road in rain often heavy with wind 😲, 4 hours on the forgotten highway including stops and 3 on 'proper' roads. Heavy rain here and thunder watch, terrific overnight storm. Thermometer not reaching 20 at present, air coming from south Antarctic 😲😲 so feeling jolly chilly to recently. Natives wearing long sleeves I'm still sleeveless but thinking about a cardigan.
Stay warm folks

Lovely day here at Southport today, quiet warm at times.
Drove down to Liverpool this afternoon for a look around the dock area. Had photo taken with the fab four
we will need more visits and more nice weather for a good look around Liverpool, not enough time on this trip. Think next time we will try the Wirrel site, not been there yet.
Off to see youngest son and family tomorrow for a couple of nights. OH fancies going over Woodhead, he's not driven it before but I remember doing it years ago with my parents, before we moved to Scotland, wonder if its changed much since 1965
Have a good weekend folks.

Very grey here today but not quite so cold, big contrast to yesterday which was the sunniest day of the year so far.
I have been working on making a "cot top changing unit" for the expected new arrival, my last task meantime, hope to have it completed by tomorrow.
Only just over 4 weeks till he should be here!

Following yesterdays abortive visit to Halfords, I found a pair of Carrera Crosscity E-bikes on Gumtree and fairly local to me. Guy had swapped from a Majestic 115 MH to a Sterling 480 caravan. So I managed to get two higher spec bikes with carry bags for less than I would have paid for the Coyote's that I had been looking at. The bikes are only six months old so a profitable day even if the weather has been thoroughly miserable.

Sounds painful JVB. Hope it heals quickly. Guess there's no trips away for a while. BTW was Rosa hurt?

So sorry to hear of your fall JVB. I hope you didn't have any trips planned in the near future. Take care and get well soon.

A similar thing happened to me last year when I fractured my wrists. I was off work for 6 weeks. However, you might find some recovery after two weeks, even though they say six weeks. I could do some short distance driving after about two weeks.

Oh dear JVB, very painful for you. Take it steady, do as you've been told, and you will be back out there and touring again soon. All the best for a swift recovery.

Yesterday was a big clean of the caravan inside, after trip last week, outside clean will have to wait until just before next trip.
Visited local pet shop for dog food it's about £10 cheaper a bag than local pet superstore.
also needed replacement bird water dish for feeder which had cracked. Cleaned and restocked feeders too, at least I keep the local pigeon's happy and well fed.
This morning watched next door neighbours trying to get their car off the grass where they had parked it, managed to bury wheels and make a real mess before finally pushing it off. Best bit though went off, came back and parked it back on the grass!
Thought I might check a couple of sites for next trip but website not working, or perhaps it's just me!
Got some sunshine today, so off for a walk with the dog instead.

Excellent idea, JVB66. Mine is an auto, so much easier in traffic with no clutch.
