We are heading to Roses at the end of May. Any recommendations for campsites please.

We have been to Camping Aquarius in Sant Pere Pescador 3 times and loved it but the last time was over 12 years ago - it may well have changed. As Deleted User User said, there is plenty of choice and much depends what you want out of a site.

Well, you can buy them a part of a ferry package from the Caravan and Motorhome Club if you add on cheques at the same time as booking a ferry. Usually you can buy as a stand-alone purchase from Camping Travel Club, but at the moment their website hasn't been updated and people have been reporting problems in buying. So if you've already arranged your ferry I would adopt a 'wait and see' tactic at the moment, until things become clearer.

We like camping Joncar Mar as it's in the town of Roses just a couple of hundred metres from the long promenade, which stretches all the way to the harbour and the headland. The site is 'compact' and in the shade of an hotel, but small and friendly. By May the weather wiil be warm but not yet too hot.
Here's a photo taken in January.

Mas Nou do special deals for longer stays in low season. They have 10Amp hook-up, toilet cleaning all through day, free wifi on pitch, all for approx 13 euro/night if you stay 3 weeks or more.
Also 3 supermarkets within walking distance

Thanks for your help. We will wait and see once the Camping Travel Club update their website. We’ve managed to get a cabin where our dog can stay with us to Santander with Brittany Ferries. We intend coming back via St.Malo end June but haven’t booked anything as yet. It’s good to think about holidays in this snowy weather. Kind regards.

Would also agree with L'Amfora, its a great site and a good price if using camping cheques. The last time we were there however it was very busy at the end of May with a huge queue at the reception. They require you to walk the site to choose a pitch first, then back to reception to indicate which one you would like (pick 2 or 3) just in case others are picking the same pitches. Once this is sorted then you just drive in and park up. The facilities blocks are some of the finest we hae seen anywhere.
The site just down the road Aquarius is also very nice they take Acsi, both sites have direct access to a massive beach and lots of cycling/walking tracks into town and along the coast.

We've managed to stay at L'Amfora, Aquarius and Salata over the last 10 years and I would say that you should have a decent stay at any one that you choose. This depends on what you want by way of nearby facilities such as a town and close supermarkets (Salata) or beach (other 2), there is San Pere Pescador nearby but it is not of the same size as Rosas, although a new small supermarket has recently opened there.
If you want to stay at Salata or L'Amfora then they used to offer an age discount. Aquarius take ACSI, which as you are travelling back through France would be a great discount card to have with you.
Enjoy yourself whichever one you stay at.

I have used Amfora a couple of times. As has been said, the facilities are excellent, especially the new toilet block.
The only thing I don't like, is that many pitches are 'through' doubles, with no hedged rear marker. I've seen quite a few examples of outfits 'encroaching' the other campers pitch.
Its a great beach site, especially for watching kite surfers, but conversly, its often too windy for comfort

As already mentioned L'Amfora is a good option. It has great reviews on the Club website.

Tried Salata May 2017 and left after one night! Too many mulberries on the pitch for us...but the site was v.busy. We used Camping Rodas just 500 mtrs away - much quieter, even if one of the toilet blocks was not quite as good. Plus a supermarket across the road! Still walkable or cyclable into town.
