Charging electric cars on Club sites.

You need to be a member of the club to use a CL and these 5 van sites are in the Clubs site handbook and are therefore, part of the network of club sites. So the Club can determine rules, procedures or guidelines for the use of these. So similar to the Clubs policy, there is no reason for them to discriminate against EV users by imposing additional charges.

We have only ever used one CL, so there demise would not greatly affect us. However, many folk rely on them both because they prefer them to large sites, and/or as a lower priced alternative. Given the smaller margins that most operate on and that increased cost can only be shared by at most 5 vans, personally I would ask if charging an EV required an extra payment. Certainly in summer it is going to be extra consumption, over and above what the owner will have estimated. Although your particular EV may be charged in 6 hours, even a partial charge on those with larger batteries could take 12 hours and consume about £3.16 worth of electricity. Might not sound much but it will soon mount up.
