Reading these posts is fairly obvious 90% plus of posters are retired, lucky buggers!!
We aren't retired but hope for 5 days in Gloucestershire in May, main holiday Dorset & New forest end of June & 5 days in Anglesey in August.
Hopefully a couple of weekenders as well.

Far too early for us.. We're thinking about Austria sometime in spring (flight & hotel), but nothing else planned.
We rarely know where we're going until we return.

Why disconnect, LewisJack? I can see no point and have never known anyone do this.
The fridge will only run from the car battery when the engine is running.
Turning the gas off is a must and ferry staff will probably remind you.

Looks like your post was Deleted User LJ. I assumed you had done it.
I can see no photo at all in your avatar or profile but they have a mind of their own these days.

Right...here goes with my original post of 10 minutes ago.
Wife and I are booked with our 'van on overnight ferry Portsmouth to Bilbao 9th May for a 25 x night tour of south west France (Aquitaine & Midi Pyrenees). We've pre-booked our 4 x preferred sites. Return by same route on 5th June. All stops en route to & from our Helensburgh home are also booked and I believe I have gathered together all necessary safety/legal accessories for travelling on French & Spanish AutoRoute's.
As relative newcomers to this exciting way of life, I do however have one query. Should I disconnect towing electrics once embarked and reconnect before disembarking? No perishables will be carried in fridge during the crossing.
Tinwheeler - many thanks for your earlier answer. Appreciate your explanation. Regards, Lew & Irene JACK
