I'm not sure how this works out in these days of instant international transactions because if you send a payment from UK to New Zealand by internet banking, what would the date of the payment be if it is sent just after 11 a.m. because in UK it will be 31st December 2017 whilst in New Zealand it would be 1st January 2018, not only different month but different year?
Crumbs, MM, if this what full-timing on the cheap in muddy fields does to a chap I'll give it a miss, thanks.
Don't concern yourself about time differences Malcolm, since with your self-induced financial complexities that is the last thing you need to worry about.
(Keep on posting, chum; I find the anxieties in your life a valuable reminder of the blessings in my content and secure lifestyle

It is very comforting to know that because , it seems, our past lives although not well off we, have our own house thanks to Mrs Thatcher (bought outrite no morgage)and should now give each of the children and their off spring a nice nest egg each, when we pop off, also our pensions and savings give us a living that also means any bills are not a problem, and enough, to do so far, what we want when we want,
We look on with gathering apprehension, of the developing amount of debt that is being accumulated, fuelled in some large part by the need of those that feel it essential to have the latest fads, that go out of vogue nearly as soon as they appear, without any thought ,it seems, of what are the real basics of what is essential for day to day life,
Sorry rant over, just been listening to the "woes"of couple of younger generation while in dish wash area ,that both have just got new motor caravans and were then complaining how much the cost of things in general are

Not the best start to the New Year.
Got a phone call early this morning from one of Mrs.WN's cousins saying his mother had just passed away earlier this morning. So it will be a funeral in the near future.
Nothing much else happening, been to the tip to get rid of my shredding bags. Bought bird food as they don't seem to stop this weather.
Have a good day folks.

Wet day today here, we've had a few snow flurries but nothing is going to stick as its too wet.
DIL and grandson now gone down the road to Wiltshire, didn't leave until 1pm so will be arriving in the dark and late. Never seen such lackadaisical way of packing, had to give them a shout to get up at 10.00, still sat in Pj's at 12.00 while son is trying to get bags sorted cat found (hiding soon as cat box comes out) get kids washed and dressed. Glad she has made it up with her Mum, not sure I could hold my tongue through another visit if they come to stay again. Son and granddaughter now sorted the mess left behind, at least there is no more arguing between siblings going on and my lounge now has a carpet that I can see.
son going for a run and granddaughter practicing doing makeup, now this I can cope with.
Bakers2, glad you have now arrived and have luggage, the journey sounds horrendous though I'm sure its easy forgotten once you see the family. Have a good time on Gparent duties.
Sky now clearing and looking much brighter think that's it for the snow.

Thanks, I have had a quick look and when we next see the moon I might give it a try. Generally more at home with my landscapes but you are never too old to learn.

Not a great day for me. Had a call from the hospital, they had a cancellation and could fit me in for a minor operation, unfortunately had to turn it down due to my hacking cough. A little later I had a tooth filling drop out so an unscheduled trip to the dentist on the cards

We've just completed getting our awning down ready for tomorrows departure!

Nice trip to the leisure club at lunch time. I don't think the new year fitness resolutions can have cut in yet, only two of us in the pool. It is really nice getting it more or less to yourself. Not sure what it will be like if we go tomorrow though. The high winds might mean more of the hotel guests make use of it, rather than go out somewhere.

Just had phone call another of our neighbours has died ,that is three from our road in a month,we have lost now five in a year,it brings home the age of most of the people ,who all moved in during the late fifties earl sixties, when large areas of London were being "upgraded",and the "new towns"being built some areas of our town have already, gone through the first "intakes"and now have a "young" population again, and of course most houses are now ,as ours owned, and at rediculas prices, apart from a one or two bed flat nothing is under £300,000

Well today we had to come home from our 11 Nights away at Cirencester. Absolutely terrible weather and you realise just how wet it is when you jack your twin axle and the jack sinks into the gravel ground in the storage compound. One hot bath later and home made curry on the hob and the rain and mud are a distant memory.

Good call JVB. Glad you are tucked up at Sandringham. Stay safe.

So glad to hear that your DIL and her Mum have sorted out their differences Tammygirl. Family fallouts are always upsetting and the longer it is left the more difficult it gets to resolve. I hope the hurt feelings subside in time.

No wind as yet here JVB. All very quiet. Just damp after rain most of the day.

Lovely to hear that you got to NZ safely Bakers2 and that you were eventually reunited with your luggage. I can just imagine the reunion with your family over there.
Have a wonderful time and keep in touch when you can.
Glad you and your OH managed to see your GP and got some medication brue. I hope the antibiotics kick in soon and that you begin to feel better. It is a nasty bug that is around at the moment.

We have just booked our "main" Summer break 2 weeks on The Isle Of Wight in July staying at Southlands CC. Its been almost 6 years since we were last on the IOW so looking forward to it. My sister and her family are joining us in their caravan so hopefully it will be a good holiday.

It was back to work today, but at least it's only 4 days this week.
Took my second iron back to Argos at lunchtime, hoping it will be third time lucky
at least Argos are very good when it comes to changing things.
Good to to hear you arrived safe and sound Bakers2 .
Really hope you feel better soon Brue.
Wet and windy weather seems to have arrived here, batten down the hatches and stay safe folks.

Sorry to hear that you're not well and have had to cancel your trip Barleywood. Perhaps it for the best, listening to the weather forecast. Hope that you get better soon and can than get away.

We were invited to dinner by an old school friend and his wife yesterday evening, in Royal York Crescent. We had to negotiate some narrow roads to get there but got there in the end! They have a top floor flat with magnificent views over the city. Getting back to the site was easier as it was after 10 p.m. and there was no traffic.
It was a nice evening out for us and an opportunity to chat and catch up with all the news.

Wind still gusting up to 50 mph here and forecast shows this will continue for the rest of the day. Birds seem to be enjoying a fun fair ride on the feeders. Won't be going far today. If anyone has to take their outfit on the road today, go carefully
