Yes, Oneputt. That's us. We're packing up ready to go as we need to be off by 12 noon having reached the end of our stay here at Baltic Wharf.

We're not sure yet which route we'll be using today but the aim is to get to the services on the westbound carriageway between junction 17 and junction 18 of the M4 for an overnight stop before reaching Chipping Sodbury Caravans by 8 a.m. tomorrow.

We might proceed to junction 18 of the M5 and then on towards the M4 interchange. Then head eastbound carriageway of the M4, get off at junction 17, around the roundabout to the exit leading on to the westbound carriageway and then proceed to arrive at the services to pay overnight fee.

As there is a lot of air about, I thought I might put some of it into the MH tyres as I get nagging messages on the dash.

I would have thought in this weather it would have been safer to stay another night and leave early for Chipping Sodbury in the morning, and better than spending a night among the lorries.

Take care  Malcolm, we know M4/M5 interchange as "Death Alley", so all the best for trip homewards on this less than perfect travelling day.

Indeed.  Le Delamere to Chipping Sodbury 20 mins, as already hitched up and ready to go. From BW (M5/M4) or across Bristol much longer, plus hitching up, opening and closing site gates. Probably at least 1 hour plus. Sounds a good idea, just be careful out there.

As "one" needs to arrive at Chipping Sodbury tomorrow a 45 min journey and an overnight stop on the motorway might just about do it.....wink

Oops I have strayed off my intended path...

It's windy here still, the decorations need sorting, things to do. smile

Not much wind here, but plenty of rain, and strangely even a few blinks of sun.

Expecting 3 parcels to arrive, plus have a cot bed to repair for DD and some little feet to make for the shelf unit as she has discovered it will have to stand on the floor under a desk.

Cough and cold slightly better, but now OH has the sore throat and cough.

Same here brue, we had a very early dog walk round reservoir, way too windy here for a woodland walk. Now tackling some of the Xmas decor. Much nicer done in stages, still enjoying a few bits of greenery and lights. There's still a lot of cake left, and some Florentines, other stuff has been date coded and stored for trips out!laughing

No wind here either today, chilly but we also have bits of blue sky in between the clouds.

Bit of shopping required today for fresh fruit, Gdaughter loves fruit and snacks on it rather than sweets so happy with that.

Took delivery of 3 parcels too, they are Companion Cats. Therapy cats for folk that have Dementia/Alzheimer type issues. They are robotic, move and purr like a cat when its sat on your knee. There are sensors in certain parts of the head and body. We saw it on a programme a few weeks ago and thought it might be a nice thing for Mum when she gets a bit upset and agitated. We managed to track down the Admiral nurse that was in the programme and had a long talk with him about them, we have bought 3 of them 1 for Mum, 1 for the home and 1 for a local well being project that OH is involved with.

That's a lovely gesture TG. Hope your Mum gets some comfort from the cats. Nice to think of others as well.

1 parcel arrived, via Royal Mail, no sign of the other 2, which are also supposed to be coming via Royal Mail.

I suppose there is still time.

Hope you are all keeping safe with storm Eleanor doing the rounds.  It's not been too bad during the day today, but it has done it's best to re-landscape part of the outside with the contents of overturned bins on bin-day.

Having my last chill day today before choir practices start up again tomorrow.

I love the Companion Cats tammygirl. Such a wonderful idea and a lovely gesture of yours to donate 2. I would love one when I get too old to care for a real live cat.😊

Glad you are home safe and sound tricky.

Enjoy your last day /evening of 'chilling' David.

We have had wall to wall grandchildren for 2 days as parents back at work and they don't go back to school until tomorrow. They are back home now and I have just opened a bottle of wine 😁

I hope everyone who is feeling poorly are recovering.

I had to look up the "cats" and thought it was a lovely gesture too.

Can't say we are feeling too good just yet and I'm glad we had the fridge and freezers full to capacity over Christmas as we don't feel like shopping for food at all. Best wishes to fellow sufferers.

Millie, have a relaxing evening, enjoy your wine! laughing

Beet you're glad that you didn't need to take the van out in those winds.

We had them through the night with one blast that rocked the van, although we are pretty well sheltered. More rain this evening but at least the winds have died down at the moment. Looks like another damp final walkout with Flyte.yell

We left Baltic Wharf just before 12 noon. We had no problem towing the caravan to Westbound Leigh Delamere Services betweem Junction 17 and 18 of the M4. We came via the M32. There wasn't much traffic so an easy trip. The Shogun is a brilliant towcar and towed effortlessly in the windy conditions. We didn't feel a thing!

I used the paybyphone app to pay the overnight services charge. It was such a long time since I last used it that I'd forgotten the password, so I had to reset it. So got there in the end!

We plan to leave here by 07:30 a.m. so hopefully, we'll get to Chipping Sodbury by 8:00 a.m.

Later on in the afternoon, I got a phone call from Lancing Fruit Farm who said that the field was waterlogged due to heavy rain, so could we postpone our stay there to a later date. They'll phone us when the site is usable again.

I tried Gatwick but found that they were fully booked this weekend so chose Alderstead Heath in Redhill and have booked there for 21 nights from 4th January. Hopefully, Lancing Fruit Farm will be available by then.

I've just found a fault message on the Alde Control panel. It says 'Overheat red fail Low battery.' Any ideas on this?

I think the battery may be low because the 12 volt lights have been dimming but what does overheat red fail mean?

The problem with Brighton is that the roads get very congested at the time when I would need to travel. Also the site fees are more expensive. It takes about an hour from Redhill.

No idea what version of Alde you have but download the relevant PDF manual.

For 3020 I think it suggests low fluid or low battery
