Its been a very mild day here so I have been out and washed both the Volvo and the caravan as they got filthy on our trip out last weekend to Loch Lomond. We are taking the van over to Edinburgh next week for 3 nights and my sister and her family are joining us with their caravan too also we will take the oportunity to visit my brother who stays over that way. Looking forward to that. Hope everyone else is having a good day.

Fruit and Veg shopping at Tescos this morning.
Manager of F & V not a happy bunny. 5 minutes after opening up a chef came in and bought all of his lettuces (lettuci?) Not a single one left. Boy is he getting some earache. Fortunately salad is off the menu at Chez WN this weekend.

Got everything I'm likely to need {
I think } when I took aged sis into town on Thursday. Anything missing I can manage without unless it's super-urgent then I'll pop into Macolls , corner shop ! Peace on earth, good will to all men -- excepting always the poor staff who have to man the place on Christmas Day from 09:30 to 16:30. There are times when I doubt the sanity of this World

I'm not sure about our Tesco now but they used to have a maximum purchase after having similar issues.
Our Lidl certainly does.
What happened to the daily fresh produce being delivered to the catering trade and greengrocers ? Oh I forgot supermarkets knocked them out of business. The market stall I use, a family concern, comes from Suffolk but they use their own buyers at Covent Garden daily with their own transport. Always good quality. Samples of the satsmas on offer this morning delicious sweet and juicy, unlike a recent purchase from a supermarket. Very stupid purchase!

I did! She's off on a "design your own perfume" day whenever the mood takes her. Small voucher in a small envelope in a whacking great big box, all neatly wrapped and labelled and hidden away ( though I suspect she's seen the box and is hoping for a new hoover!

Malcolm, that would be mad. There are two Tesco extras, both with filling stations about 4 miles away. You will actually pass the one at Eastville as you zoom along the M32. Or are more probably stuck, especially coming back. There is a motorway exit. However, if you are determined to use Tesco the one at Brislington is probably easier to get too. A37 Wells road out of Bristol then left onto ring road A4174.
If you use the one at Eastville, Ikea is right alongside. Good cafe, great value lunch especially if you like meatballs.

I think I’ve got in all in hand. Last night we went for a Birthday meal at our favourite small restaurant - The Three Hares at Sedbergh. It was wonderful. The best I’ve had there.
Then this morning we went to our local Booths for fruit and veg - and normal stuff for everyday meals. It was busy, but not manic.
The turkey will be delivered tomorrow and I’ve written a timeplan.
What can go wrong?

OH has braved the shops alone, and survived, though she was away quite a while!
She said the Tesco car park was full, cars going round and round looking for a space, so after once round she left and went over to the public car park in the village, where she got a space immediately.
You would not think there are still 2 shopping days to go! I wonder if it will be even worse tomorrow?
After going to the bank and the chemist, she went into M&S instead for a few things on her list, then, after a visit to set heating at the Guide Hall, went along to the nearby new Aldi where she got all the other stuff on the list, and more, so that is us sorted until at least the 29th.
The list was short as we are going to our son's house for Christmas, but we are having our daughter and her husband to dinner on the 24th.
I stayed home and have been working on the last bits to be done in the kitchen. This is all at floor level, so my knees are suffering now.

Goldie, interesting menu at the Three Hares.
My Nephew who is in the military came over today and as he hadn’t seen the grand twins our daughter brought them over so fun type chaos reigned.
Food and drink shopping done and dusted. Time to relax now.

Goldie, interesting menu at the Three Hares.
I should have taken photos. The written menu doesn't do it justice. And it changes almost daily. It's seasonal and as local as possible.
I had Cod Cheeks, Crab, Cauliflower, Curry as a starter.
It was not a curry as such. The cod was on the left of the plate and the rest in a line on the right, with a subtle curry hint, small crisp slices of cucumber and white crab meat.
Then the Brill as a main. Equally stunning.
After two courses I was full - but my husband manages a pudding (just)

Foggy start to the day then sun came out and burned it off, very heavy frost this morning.
After tidying up the front bedroom (all sort been dumped in there) and the utility room (decorating stuff) the house is starting to look rather nice once again.
Early afternoon we braved the shops, Aldi car park was very busy but the shop not so much. All our shopping done now for the festive season, won't go again until the 27th. Eldest son and family coming up on the 28th for a week, its his birthday on the 29th
MillieH, hope you get away ok and have a great time, hope Mr MH feels better soon.
Bakers2, not long now
hope the suitcase packing goes well and you can actually get some clothes in.

If that's the case we won't be getting in, unfortunately, as we will be leaving before it opens again. We were hoping it would be open over the weekend. We'll just have to wait till our next visit.
