Rubbish, isn't it. What have CLs to do with anyone wanting to book a club site? You'll just have to rely on the site directory, at least that's available 24/7/365.wink

I know what you mean, Brue.

I'm not defending the present system in any way but the same old whinging every year gets a bit much.

Perhaps it’ll be best to avoid CT for a few days or, at least, certain threads.yell

I didn't intend my comment to regard anyone who is disappointed on booking day as a whinger. I sincerely hope the club improves the booking system.

Can't get into the booking system. The "Book Now" button does not work and trying to get through on the phone is a joke. Oh well perhaps next year 😉

Book now button appears not to work but keep pressing it and eventually you get a timed slot. Worn my finger out but managed some bookings.

I've not booked anything on D day for quite a few years,  but wanted a couple of specific weekends next year, found the system worked well, and now all booked.smile  Mind you they weren't "Honeypot sites"  or BH's.wink

I've looked and we cant get one single weekend away at Rowntree Park for the whole of 2018.

I repeat block bookers who book multiple weekends and then cancel when it suits make me PUKE

Why blame the mythical block bookers. If you could not get a weekend then why assume that others have booked multiple weekends?

You tried to advance book as did many others for Rowntree. As the song goes 'Some were lucky, some where not, just be grateful for what you got'.

I'm complaining yes......... I logged on at 8am & couldn't get on to make a booking. Continued trying until 8:30am when I let the dog out came back at 8:40am & every single weekend at RP had been taken by block bookers. I only wanted one weekend & the rest of my tours I am happy to book as and when.

The club really really need to do something about these block bookers who book whatever  & then cancel when it suits, I play by the rules and only book what I know I'll need, perhaps I'm the one that needs to change.

People booked a weekend. You tried as well. What makes them block bookers and you not a wanabee block booker? As far as I am aware you had the same chances as others so do not see why you should complain. Can't stand a bad looser. smile

Made 9 bookings in 20 minutes this morning. This year is so much better, no system hanging, well done.

EsayT, I can assure you I am not a bad loser & all I wanted is one weekend with my family at RP, is that too much to ask? But I can't because inconsiderate block bookers have taken what they want but will cancel when it suits them.

I still cannot follow your logic Fatbelly. You had the same opportunity and could not book a pitch. Why did others have more success? Do you think that they cheated?

No idea why you were unable to get on when others were.

Did anyone else try to book Beechwood Grange at York and find it closed until September?

I booked Roundtree Park instead, got a non awning pitch and no, I didn't block book it as I planned to book Beechwood originally

No one cheated, i couldn't get onto book which is just my bad luck & that I accept. What I find hard to stomach is block bookers who got on(fair dos to them for that) but then block book every weekend they could knowing that they will cancel when it suits. Leaving genuine people like myself who play by the rules with nothing.

Oh by the way not only am I not a "bad loser" I also not a "wannabe block booker".

C'mon fatbelly, where is your proof they were block bookers. They may have been genuine one weekenders like you but more successful, just like trying to get a Doctors appointment on the day. .

Neither can I ET, and that’s probably because there is no logic to follow. All this nonsense about block bookers.

System worked fine for me - got my first slot at about 8.20 and went on to make 9 easy bookings, each time going back to the start, just as it says on the tin.

Absolutely fair for all, like it or not.

Some may have managed several if they were not to fussed about the most popular weekends.

I don't agree with frenzy day but if you can't beat them join them.  I got into the office early and it worked extremely well for me. Booked 7 stays at a honeypot site (mixture of weeks and weekends) and our main summer holiday as this year we wanted a service pitch and there are only a small number at the site we wanted.

All booked - total of 41 nights- and by 8.15. Only one of the weekends was speculative in that we may not use it.

I think every one who wanted a w/end in York next year (always something going on)had already noted that as a posted on the cc website, Beachwood Grange was closed for major rebuild until Sep 2018 so went for the only other cc site at York just shows how it pays to Plan in advance, there will soon be a post complaint that they were not told about Beachwood

Ps was not going to do any bookings today but found it so easy when I just looked have done all our "needed?" bookings and did two on one access

Sorry you didn't get the time away with your family SM1 that you wanted neither did I yell

I blame inconsiderate block bookers who book multiple weekends knowing that they'll cancel 3 days before they were due to travel. I also blame the Club for letting these people get away with their inconsiderate selfish ways. The Club really should clamp down on these people.
