Arrived safe and well, but did run into a heavy shower on the way up M6. Site was rather wet under foot but we've on a large H/S pitch. Not as smart as the one you're on but at £10pn, with a toilet, we can't complain. Have a good week away.

Thanks, Mh, Kj and Bakers. I know what you mean Bakers2 about the antibiotics, if its viral they will do no good at all, just has to run its course. I think I'm probably just a bit edgy after having had pneumonia at the end of last year. Silly I know as its more than likely just a rotten cold need to give myself a kick up the you know what.

Get well soon TG.
It's getting to that time of year again when the colds/flu/chest infections etc will start to go around. I hate any sort of illness but I especially hate head/ throat/ chest type cold with a vengeance. I'd rather put up with my knee and hip pain than have a cold. 😀

So how are you getting on with the motorhome? Has it lived up to expectations?

It's probably best to watch it on BBC1. That way, you can stay warm and dry!

Yes thanks, DK. Very pleased so far. There absence of the fiddle of hitching, unhitching and getting the caravan on and off the drive is a delight. Not sure that the drive is as enjoyable although a couple of mis-interpretation of the SatNav's instructions made the U-turns easier.

Happy Birthday Triky Pete, have a good weekend and good food!
Keep warm TG and get well soon, hope the trip to the sun helps.
Have just been looking ahead at some ideas for early travel next year (due to just coming back from a nice break and attempting to feel better if something is in the pipeline.) Found some spaces at York, so that's good, no doubt it will fill up soon...debating whether to add an extra night but it's all quite pricey!

I was reading some posts on a forum that I helped OH to set up. There was a discussion about what foods folk did not like. Somebody said that they did not like mayo but liked Heinz salad cream. That reminded me ......
The first time I went for a meal at my wife's parents when we started seeing each other it was a salad. My future M-I-L asked if there was anything I wanted. There was mayo on the table which I would normally have chosen but I asked if there was any salad cream. Just fancied some for a change. There was none.
Next time that I was there for a salad there was mayo and salad cream on the table. I chose mayo. Sue and I often stayed over at each others house of a weekend as we lived 14 miles apart and so often ate with each others folk. More often at Sue's place as I had a motorbike and was more mobile. Whenever we had a salad both jars were present.
20 years later, after my lovely second mum had died, Sue and I went to help her dad sort out clothes. In one of her clothes drawers was an envelope with £5 notes and it had my name on. Also in the wall units, in the kitchen, was the same jar of salad cream - unopened. [smile1]
The cash must have been in the drawer for 15 years. Sue and I were married and had a daughter and a mobile home 18 months before I finished college. My mum in law would look after our daughter usually on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and my wife would stay there after work; I would pick Samantha up on Friday afternoon after an hour and a half drive from college. There was always a fiver for me to help out with petrol!

Millie this is the first time we have been on the route. They are a great team, the bit that went out live on the in show was very staged. They had arrived earlier and the rickshaw was hidden in the entrance to the bank then ridden out on cue.

It was a trip to the tip this morning with the old bathroom suite etc, our local recycling centre are now charging for non household waste, it cost £6 for them to take it 😲 I can see lots more fly tipping happening now. Called into to check caravan on the way home, all looks ok, really would like a weekend away, but got to find a "spare" one first.
Happy Birthday Triky 🎂
Tammygirl hope you feel better soon, keep warm lots of fluids.☺
Hope all those away and at home have a lovely weekend, KjellNN don't work too hard.😉

Unexpected visitor to our garden a few minutes ago. Not all that big, probably a this years baby. I had been videoing it on my phone. Naturally taking the photo made it pop it's head away 😢. It'll be mealworm in the morning for the birds and evening for this baby. Usually our hedgehogs are not seen in the flesh but leave their calling cards 😉 and fend for themselves.

I'll be working 18:30 to 21:30 this evening and then day off tomorrow.

Early phone call this morning from grandaughter, hockey match is off due to the pitch being frozen. So didn't have to disappoint her by not going (OH was going to go though)
Felt much better this morning, went to get some bits of shopping then tackled the packing of our bags for up coming holiday.
OH fixed my tumbler after my disaster earlier in the week when one a piece of my underwear got its wire caught up in the fluff filter unknown my me until I went out to the utility room to check if it had finished. The wire had buckled the filter, caused all the other washing to get tangled up behind it, which broke the belt that drives the drum round.
Now feeling rubbish again so going to have a break and a cuppa.

I've had a strange cold bug for a couple of weeks TG, feel better then get a sore throat etc again. Hope some nice warm sun will prove to be the cure for you! Sounds very chilly where you are, it's dull and gloomy here.
Glad your OH fixed the tumbler...I'm in trouble for scraping the wheel of our new car but I was trying to get as near as I could for an elderly neighbour to get in, can't repeat the expletives heard when OH spotted the damage!

Oh dear brue, seems we are both in the bad books
Agree, hope the warm weather shakes this bug off, no sore throat surprisingly just bunged up sinuses and hacking cough, which now seems to be easing thankfully. I have now stopped taking decongestants as they are not helping, a couple of good nights sleep will do me the world of good.
Weather today here has been lovely, cold and sunny with lovely blue skies. Had a drive up the A9 towards Dunkeld after shopping this morning, could have just kept going. The hills were looking great with just a sprinkling of snow on the tops and the sun glinting off them. Hopefully you should get some clear skies over the next couple of days.
Malcolm, can't watch 'it' on tv as the parade and service I refereed to is at our eldest grandaughters boarding school. Not the one at the Cenotaph, which we will watch once we return home (recorded)

Lovely day here today, chilly but lots of sun.
Loaded up all our Ikea cardboard packaging and dropped it off at the tip on our way to DD's.
Moved the light switch in her utility room in preparation for continuing the tiling.
DD and OH went off to Ikea for the missing door after lunch while I got on with the tiling. SIL was doing marking for school.
Shoppers were away ages, eventually returned.....without the door! Our Ikea is undergoing a re-organisation and they could not find where the doors had been put! They have now arranged to deliver a door, will be interesting to see if it arrives undamaged.
OH did find some worktop lights, so we will try them out, look OK on first inspection.
Back to DD's tomorrow for more tiling.

So glad you are feeling a bit better tammygirl. I hope you manage to see your grand-daughter tomorrow and have a lovely Spanish holiday.
I have had a great day out in MK with daughter today having a catch up and making a start on the Christmas shopping. We got a free lunch at Pizza Express!! We waited 40 minutes after placing our order and then enquired what had happened. They checked and came back full of apologies saying that our order had not been placed. They then said we could have not only our main courses free but desserts as well. We only had to pay for our drinks. Good for them. We thought it was a very generous gesture.

I thought that might be the case Helen. But good for them anyway. They are a very inspirational team of young people.

I finished work at 21:30 last night. I also got my rota for next week. Day off today and tomorrow. Working Tuesday evening, then day off Wednesday and Thursday. Working Friday evening to Sunday evening. Total of 15.5 hours to work next week.
On Tuesday morning, we have an appointment with my wife's visa solicitor to submit her visa application and to submit her new English language certificate plus payment of £993 visa fee.

Brue, just refer the OH to Lewis Hamilton. If a world champion can get it wrong, he should cut you some slack.

Sunshine here at last! We've just finished breakfast. My wife decided that it's ideal weather for drying the washing, sunshine plus a breeze! So she's got it all hung out on the rotary airer.

It's been cold out here today too but not a cloud in the sky. Finished the little bedroom this afternoon, the GS came to help, well it is his room when he comes to sleep over.
On to the dining room starting tomorrow. When will it all end😫😫

Tiling finished on the main wall, really cold outside using the electric tile saw, too messy to use inside.
Will go back on Thursday to hopefully finish the 2 small areas left. Those involve fitting tile trim, so not quick to do.
Meantime we have plenty to do at home.

Lovely day out with GD, she was very smart in her uniform and her marching is coming on well. Grandad was very pleased with her progress all the children worked very hard and the parade went well, the pipe band was as ever excellent.
Its been 20+ years since our boys were at the school but it felt just like last week that we had stood there in the freezing cold watching them on parade. We never thought we would be back watching our first grandchild doing the same. The wind was as ever freezing cold and the sun shone brightly, everyone present had a good day.
Off tomorrow to somewhere nice and warm so hopefully will shake of this blasted cold (OH now starting with it so i'm not popular) not an early start tomorrow but snow has been forecast on our route to the airport so we won't hang about just in case.

Glad you had a good day, Tammygirl, despite the cold!
For us, although it was cold outside, it got nice and warm in the awning during the morning with the sun coming through the front window. We watched the Remembrance Day parade on BBC1 on the caravan tv from 10:20 to 12:30 whilst having lunch.
In the afternoon we went to the Tesco Extra in Durrington to do some shopping, after which we went to swap over cars so that the Shogun could get a run. Then we drove the Shogun back to our site before having our evening meal.
Today, we plan to return to Worthing to swap over the cars again, as we need to use the Smart car for our trip to Brighton tomorrow morning. The Shogun is too tall to fit into the NCP there, which has a six foot height limit. Also, I'm working tomorrow evening and will need the Smart car for that too!

Just renewed my car insurance for the Shogun for £561.71 for the whole year. Paid by Tesco credit card which has earned me another 70 points! I got the quote through comparethemarket.com and this was the cheapest quote through esure. That's over £700 saving compared to last years premium paid.
