Finally catching up with the forum after a few days away in the MH and a visit to the NEC. Manage to spend four hundred quid on bits and bobs and I still haven't got any silver screens yet. All payout at the moment.

A day to chill out at home in our caravan. I'm not due back at work until Friday, so today is the first of three days off. Friday is payday. Of course, we'll need to give the Shogun a run to keep the battery charged so that may mean a trip to WWT Arundel either today or tomorrow.

Just back from Ikea with a car load of kitchen units, not looking forward to the unloading!

It is only base and wall units for a 1.6 metre space, hate to think what a whole kitchen would be!

It might be a good idea to invest in a battery charger, that way you could   charge it once a week rather than having to take it for a drive.  Also handy if it does go flat again.

Did the social diary for our friendship group for the coming month. Spent some time removing a shelving framework out of the caravan for re-use. Also made a start on sorting the garage. Tip tomorrow!!

They had intended to stay for 2 or 3 years however his old firm have been asking him to go back with promotion and more money of course, that and the schools in Malta which are not good they say kind of made them think again. They have had a good time and enjoyed the experience though.

Arrived home at 03.30 after delays at Glasgow airport passport control, felt sorry for the families with small children.

Shopping done, then visit to Mum. Bags emptied and first load in machine. OH going up to Aberdeen tomorrow to collect van which has been in getting it habitation service, all good and no damp, phew!

New ebikes getting delivered some time tomorrow, smile decided to spend some more of the kids inheritance winklaughing

Dentist for me today and then our holiday terrier arrived for two nights.

It was lovely at Abbotsbury last night, the illuminations really were enchanting! Unfortunately I knocked the settings on my camera in the dark so my photos aren't very good but here's a taste. smile

Lovely photos Brue. Saw a photo in the i newspaper today of the woods around Brampton near Carlisle illuminated by lights to remember a friend or relative who has passed on. A nice thought.

Visit to dentist for us as well. Mrs WN had her broken tooth extracted so is much happier. Proper food tonight!

Flu vaccinations today! Had to collect son as he needs one as well as ourselves. Big fire resulting in one of the main roads being closed, nearby roadworks on two of the roads heading to the GPs. eventually got parked, filled in the forms for all of us, sat down and got called through to the nurse, arms at the ready, jabs done! Oh by the way we need to take  your blood pressure! Surprise Surprise it was slightly up!

I then had to negotiate my way back to my son's day centre and home!

Managed to get all the stuff in from the car  without  too much hassle.

OH was talking to DD, who said to go carefully and not overdo things.

So we have survived that, now to figure out how they all fit together!

Thanks Millie. Yes the illuminations usually take place every year, last two weeks of October finishing with Halloween specials at the end. I see that RHS Rosemoor gardens in Devon are being lit up in November. I expect that will be worth seeing. smile

    Really like the photos Brue.

We're in Cornwall for a few days, visiting our daughter who is at Falmouth Uni.  We're using our usual site, Globe Vale, just outside Redruth.  Off home tomorrow.

We went to WWT Arundel in the afternoon. Despite the weather, it was quite busy there because of half term. The halloween theme was well displayed with pumpkins and skeletons along the walks between the hides.

We went on the boat safari and saw a Kingfisher. The boat got quite close to it before it flew off.

brue.  Anglesey Abbey do their Winter Lights in December which are spectacular.  We usually have a family pre Christmas outing to see them but didn't get our act together in time this year and they were booked up by the end of August!!

David hope you are enjoying Cornwall we were there last week. Might have been windy but it was very mild. Safe trip home tomorrow.

It's a lovely sunny morning, washing is pegged out hoping it will dry.

Spent a nice day with eldest son yesterday, enjoyed catching up with all his news. Got to go shopping before work cupboards and freezer are almost empty.😯

The sky was very grey and overcast when we got up this morning. We plan to go to Worthing town centre to do some shopping using the Smart car this time. The Shogun is too tall to fit into the multi-storey car parks. With the roof box it needs a height limit of 7 ft. 6 ins. Most multi storey car parks have a height limit of 6 ft. to 6ft. 6 ins.

Sunny with a good breeze today, 3rd load of washing just about to finish. Bedrooms, bathroom and hall cleaned and hoovered. Just grabbing a break with cuppa before i start on the living room, dining room and the dreaded kitchen.

OH away picking up the mh from Aberdeen, with a nice sunny day he will have a good drive hopefully.  If he's back in time we can clear the front bedroom of all the mh bits and pieces that had to come out for service. Will need to clear it as the Malta lot are flying home tomorrow, only staying for 1 night to reclaim his car he left with us a year ago, then its back down to Sheffield  to his company to collect the keys to the company apartment. They have the use of it until they get settled into their house (got to find one yet) busy time ahead for them again.

Washing finished, cuppa drunk time to go back to work, who said retirement was easylaughing

Glorious here in Essex AT LAST 😆. 18c and the sun's out, been very warm and mild for a good week now but thick thick grey cloud. Most successful day on several fronts 😂. Saw a game for granddaughters in toy shop sale yesterday, photographed it and sent over, yes acceptable so went to buy today and another £1 off so instead of 50% it was 60% off 😆😆.

Remembered about a game daughter asked about last year as only able to buy wholesale in NZ, they had that in the shop too, so questioned getting it, that was sorted by someone going over from UK but asking what other games the company do. So checked them out and sent details through, expecting a shipping order tomorrow 😂 as there's another 11 really good educational games. Since she's an early years teacher I expect it may be a couple of each! Still the more of that stuff the less for clothing etc 😉.

Also secured a red cardigan for my mother - you have no idea how hard such a minor task can be 😢. And a sample from Lush of henna hair stuff as she wants to brighten her hair, she was very Strawberry blonde and has little grey, wash out hair dyes are all unsubtle so we'll see what this does. She's 87 and can't believe it when I say that's it unless she want permanent vibrant colours......... she doesn't do shopping these days just has a personal shopper who is generally praised but not for hair freshen up 😲.

Also bought 2 plants for son's finance Christmas box and a miniature pieris  for Christmas. So almost all shopping for Christmas presents sorted. That's early even by my standards! Son off to Las Vegas in April and wants to do helicopter flight so asking for money towards that 😆 OH and I have airport lounge for flight out so really getting there. Daughter has sorted NZ stuff just awaiting final total Even got OH birthday gift today too 😆😆.

Had lunch in the garden and having catch up on here.

Having a bit of trouble with bunion, started in June/July whilst away in motorhome and doing lots of walking. Thought it would recover but podiatrist says no recommended a surgeon for consultation,  got GP appointment to see if I can be referred if not I'll have to see privately 😲. As throwing whole leg out and foot swelling despite splint.

I too broke a tooth last week, dentist and I had suspected been cracked for a long time, limped along for a good couple of years! Back next Monday for repair, think he called it ceriric but not sure, keeps remaining tooth, photographs and builds up again.  An hour in the chair and half price as I'm Denplan 😲😲. Reckons better than crown and grinding down remaining tooth.

Good to catch up on everyone's news.

He didn't say 'Ceramic' did he Bakers 2?  The cost you pay when on Denplan is the Lab charge, the dental work is included in the insurance.

Got more paint from B&Q this morning and have just finished the second coat in the study at DD's house, now she needs to organise the new units.......another trip to Ikea soon.

She also has a problem with a toilet cistern, so need to look at that before we go home.

If he did he didn't pronounce it clearly, neither did his receptionist 😲. But when I Google it I could only come up with ceramic. As far as I know no lab fees at all, no impressions and he'll take the photo. I expect that'll be the lab fee to pay for the equipment! He said better and only one visit and no impression. I'll discuss it will him when I go on Monday or if I walk past in next couple of days I'll go in and ask receptionist haha. I'm almost of the opinion that if it doesn't hurt when he does it and it lasts I don't care. OH had 2 crowns recently and lab fees £534 😲😲, mines less than half that but didn't think to ask cost of Crown!

Bakers, I'm  on Denplan and my last crown cost me the princely sum of £100, which was the lab fee. Interested  in new procedure you are having will follow with interest.

New pedelec bikes arrived this morning smile OH  decided he would like the 26" rather than the 28" they sent 1 of each to try. Had a wee trial on it but lots of settings to sort out and book to read before we can give it a real test ride and of course now need to wait until they collect and deliver another 26" one.

Sun now going down and it getting chilly.

ABM, I've had plenty of 'practice' over the years I'm now professional standard wink
