Same here Vivien, get well and get out again as soon as you can. smile

Well, waiting for the weather change now, lets hope it won't be too bad...surprised have abandoned clearing up leaves as I think we will be inundated tomorrow. Just asked OH to look at the guttering as the leaves keep blocking the downpipes, which causes a Niagara Falls effect over our front door....

Our visitors from earlier in the week are now up in the air flying the long route south, they managed to see Stonehenge and the Churchill War Rooms (in London) after seeing us. I have never visited these rooms but they look interesting.

Same with ours, which is a bit of a nuisance. You would think that they could manufacture the stable doors with enough room to leave the top open and still be able to close the fly screen. I suppose the reason is that they insist in putting those useless waste baskets on the lower section of the door. The last two we had broke in no time at all, so we do without then now, and use a small waste basket in the toilet compartment.

Can't remember the last time that we had a van with a one piece door.

Same from me too Viv. Get well soon so you can get out in the van again.

Hope that the winds are not too bad down in Cornwall, H&T, as then it mightn't be as wild up here in Dorset either. We too move on Sunday, but it's only a short run up to Yeovil for us. Have a safe trip home.

Local Academy? (Comprehensive)school started their half term break two days early by having "inset" days yesterday and today, noticed that staff car park has also been empty on both days

We wondered why we were seen kids out with their parents both yesterday and today knowing that the half term holidays are supposed to start on Monday, and that explains it. Thanks JVB of solving that mystery,

Hope the storm passes soon Helen, it reaches here around 2pm although it's blustery enough now.

Stay safe HelenandTrevor. Obviously a good choice of pitch 😉.

Stay safe everyone as the storm comes through.

To my amazement we have woken, late 😲, to a glorious blue sky and our local forecast not predicting rain until 7pm. So I've just popped some washing in. Maybe we'll get to give mum's grass one last cut today?

Whatever you're plans enjoy your day.

Vivien wish you an improvement in your health very soon.

Ours has a stable door which can't be used with the fly screen. It has a waste bin on the lower part. Perhaps the answer would be a two piece fly screen.

For us the fly screen is never used. Probably 4 days on one site in 700 nights.

Ventured out and about as the sun came out mid morning,  huge waves surprised some brave surfers still out in the water. Could hardly walk along  the seafront , had to take refuge in the pub laughing

There a few more vans on site today, it's been like staying on a CL all week. Holiday has come to an end and it's back home in the morning, hopefully the wind will have dropped a bit by then.undecided

It is here!! laughing  Horrendous winds, huge waves which we can see from the house usually but the windows are covered in salt!  laughing  The tide is due back in in a couple of hours and then our garden will be covered in foam from the sea as if it has been snowing!  Ah well......surprised laughing

You've  got  a  steady  supply  of  Sea  Salt  for  your  cooking,  and  still  you  malign  little ol'  Brian.   Can't  do  right  for  doing  wrong  somedays   Sniffle  Snivel  ( embarassed )

And  you'll  be  able  to  get  your  Christmas  fotos  done,  using  the  foam  as  a  snow  substitute   !

It blew a bit through the night, and I got a bit of a soaking on our first dog walk this morning. We decided to see out the morning in the van before going out in the car, and I managed a dry 2ml walk before 11:00, getting back to the van just before another downpour. We drove over to Barton Bradstock and had an exhilarating walk along the beach and the cliff path before again getting back just before another squall. The sea was hammering onto the shore and the foam was flying, although rough I didn't think that the waves were very high. The van has been rocking a bit but the wind does seem to be dying down somewhat at the moment. Hopefully it will be a good bit less windy tomorrow when we head onto our next site.

Man oh Man! that was a three bounce landing at Gatwick this morning.

Thought the pilot was trying to do something fancy.

7 days solid sunshine in Turkish Cyprus and find that it is rainbows, rain and high winds on my return.

Should have stayed out there for longer!

Wish we had a no like button - for the landing part.

Hope you had a lovely holiday but please don't boast about successional days of sunshine, an hour or so is all we get if we're really lucky lately!

Brian not too bad here. Very blustery and gusty with the odd squall of rain. We ventured out to see The Flying Scotsman. It broke down nearby a couple of days ago and has been taken to Nene Valley Railway for repair. You can go and see it for the price of a platform ticket so of course we had to go. What a great opportunity to see it. We also saw the lovely little Thomas the Tank Engine. We finished the day by going to Stamford Arts Cinema to see Victoria and Abdul. What a wonderful film. Judi Dench was fantastic. She should definitely get an Oscar for such a brilliant performance.

Safe travelling Helen and Trevor and also Nellie. Take care.

Hope you enjoy your last outing this year  robsail.
