Dull grey and damp here in Essex, rain earlier.

Just returned from our last few nights away and our motorhome is now back in storage and winterised. Sadly no more trips until April next year in it 😢. So have quite a lot of extra stuff to put away now were indoors!

But we are off to spend lots of time with daughter and family in NZ 😆😆😆 so isn't doom and gloom.

I hope those of you away are enjoying your trip. Happy birthday to Mrs Moulsey. I trust she was given tea in bed and a day where she has chosen the activities 😉.

Received a yellow weather warning for strong winds on Saturday so please ensure you take this in account if you're travelling then.

Francis how exciting 😆 a new van. I hope it arrives on time and in perfect condition. Try not to get too excited 😉

Very pleasant day out today. We went to Padstow to do one of our favourite walks - ferry over to Rock, along the sand to Daymer Bay and back across the golf course past St Enedocs Church where John Betjeman is buried.

We couldn't work out why the place, which is normally quiet midweek at this time of year, was heaving until we realised that there was filming going on. Apparently it was for a German TV series - I asked one of the production team if, by any chance, it was called "Herr Doktor Maarten" - she didn't seem amused! No sense of humour these Germans. sealed

Hi Francis, the only problem we had with buying the new caravan was the wait, when we ordered it mid October last year we were told delivery would be April, but we didn't actually take delivery until mid June, most if the delay we discovered was due to the dealer. Very pleased with the van so far, only a couple of small design faults.

Hope you don't have to wait as long as we did, at least we did have the old van to use as it was to be traded in.

I believe they're  filming a Rosamund Pilcher book. Apparently Germans make up a huge proportion of the visitors in Cornwall for the last few years. In fact a report I watched recently said all her books had been converted into mini series in Germany and they're now on short stories 😲

We visited Marazion today, and walked across the causeway to St.Michaels Mount. At least it wasn't windy today laughing Couldn't take the dog into the castle so had to make do with a wonder round the harbour and then a lovely walk along the beach.

Had a really good fish and chip lunch in the Kings Arms at Marazion, can recommend. Had to do another beach walk then to work off a few calories! laughing

Glad you're enjoying Cornwall and nice to hear you met up with Moulesy and co. smile

Recovering from our visitors today so went to see Victoria and Abdul. We both enjoyed the film, good locations including Osborne House and one of my favourite places (off the tourist track) Glen Feshie. Only annoying thing, someone's muffled mobile ringing in a quiet bit...Mr Brue confessed later. laughing yell

It could well be that they were filming one of the Rosamunde Pilcher novels. Seemingly they are extremely popular in Germany, filmed in Cornwall but with a whole German cast and production team.

Pity we hadn't the same weather here in Dorset today, but we had low cloud and mist. We went to Athelhampton House, a very interesting place and well worth the visit.

Edit. Sorry B2 missed your post first time round.

Hi all, just a quick pop in on CT to catch up with things. Flight out from Glasgow went OK,  thought the storm might cause problems but we got away on time phew!

Malta is just the same, some new roads and buildings but sadly the rest is still a bit of a dump. It's such a shame as there are super sea views everywhere you look. We have a cracking view from our hotel balcony across the bay to Qawra. Went snorkeling this morning in a lovely bay near the top of the island water temperature is about 24c land temp today was 27c, just about perfect. Saw the kids yesterday but they had things to do today, off to see them again tomorrow afternoon picking the Gkids up from school.

Glad to hear you all got off lightly with the storm, loved the red sun photos, we never saw anything like that just really dark when we got up on Monday and it stayed like that until just before we took off then the sun came out.

Time to go and make a cuppa before bed wink

Wet here most of the day.

Trip to B&Q to buy paint and tile trim for DD, then to her place to paint a ceiling.  Tomorrow it will be the walls.

    My arms are worn out!

Feel a bit of a chump as on the way back from the NEC I have to take an avoidable 12 mile detour!!!! For those of you that know the M6 where it joins the M1 you have always had to get in the middle lane once past junction one on the M6. In recent years they have been making improvements to Catthorp Junction in order to improve the flow of traffic to the A14. Now you have to stay in the left hand lane for the M1 and the right hand lane for the A14. Unless you have a very upto date sat nav they are still directing you the old way!!! Hopefully won't make that mistake again. To cap it all there is no direct access to the M1 southbound from the A 14 so you have to return to junction one on the M6 and return on the other carriageway. Such fun. Either that or a bit like a bad dream where you can't escape from the motorway which ever way you go!!!

    David

The Catthorpe  A14 junction is now so much easier for us travellers to East Anglia.

Weather here is dry and very mild (15C) I will go to see if any rare migrants (birds) are arriving in the area whilst Mrs one is having lunch with ex work colleagues. laughing

Woken to a met office yellow weather warning on my phone for fog. They weren't wrong!  It's warm here 14.6 outside and 15.2 in the conservatory 😲.  So much for drying my large loads of washing. Watched the forecast,  national and local,  last night before deciding to do it - a bit of mist or fog was mentioned in passing 😤😭😤😭 .

Oneputt be prepared for fog the weather warning map covered all East Anglia and to the bottom of Leicestershire! However I hope you're lucky and spot plenty.

    Enjoy your day folks.

If you want a good beach cafe that welcomes dogs try Hive, NT car park and coastal walks to West Bay etc. Hope you're enjoying Dorset.

A bit damp and misty in the SW today. Off to get a new printer this morning, not very exciting!

Grafting  away  on  slides  (!!)  while  watching  the  rain  steadily  falling  frown.  Soon  for  lunch,  then  a  visit  to  a  friend --    only  a  day  or  three  before  they  decamp  to  Fuengerola  ( or  some  such  !! )  until  April.  So  it'll  be  'Hello  &  Goodbye'  I  reckon.

Hope  all  you  good  people  have  got  your  "Outdoor  Duties"  sorted  before  the  weekends  burst  of  wild,  wet  &  windy  strikes.

Trikey  might  find  a  use  for  all  that  mucky  oil  --  spread  it  on  Troubled  Waters  perhaps  undecided.

Mild and dull here, but at least it is not raining.

Another day painting, walls this time.  Almost done with the slow bits......all the edges and corners with the brush, though I still have to remove all the socket and switch plates to do round them.

The  roller bits will not take too long so hopefully all done by teatime.

Is the Cosmos a dealer special?

We looked at Motorhomes as well. Saw a couple that we liked (UK style) but decided caravan a better option for us.

We looked at a change in June. The PX offer then from Leisuresales was £1,500 better than two other dealers that we checked. Not checked since but PX dropped by £200 over the last 4 months and 6 weeks away and so we are happy enough.
