How's your footy team doing?

What a start to a season. Very good win against Port Vale in some cup match with a strange name, but any win is good all players ran for the ball and defended each other if things got a bit fractious.MOT

I believe that you meant that sincerely Steve and I wish your lot a good season too. I've just read today that Burnley are bidding for Chris Wood so I hope you've got another goal scorer up your sleeves.
Spriddler the Terriers had a far easier first game than the Seagulls so I wouldn't be too disheartened.
I'm looking forward to our first home game on Sunday against the Toon. The stadium is sold out and all the work required to meet Premier League and Sky TV conditions should be completed. All the best for the new season your club and supporters are always well respected up here in't North.

Yes papgeno, they're finding it tough. Our hitherto dependable defence is struggling with the speed and reactions of Premier strikers and wing-backs.
Even so, last season in t' Championship they had an average gate of 28,000 at home which was more than 7 teams in the Premiership. Poor Bournemouth had only 10,000 at home yesterday (about their average gate) and Burnley only 19k. Still, in t' Premiership it's T.V. and sponsorship deals that bring in the dosh, not punters' gate money.
Your Terriers were also averaging over 20k last season which was more than 5 of the Premiership teams. Good luck this afternoon against Toon!

Our gate yesterday was one person short of the record which was set last season in the cup against Man City.
The place was buzzing and I've never heard so much noise in the ground. Unfortunately some of the bar code readers which are used to scan tickets weren't working and some of those that worked were slower than this forum, yes that slow! So some pretty big queues built up particularly with those who always leave it to the last minute.
The match was tight and settled by a cracking goal.
Rotherham on Wednesday and Southampton on Saturday, can't wait.

Phew, I can come out of hiding at last!
After a bit of a dodgy start, Rovers have finally found their feet with 3 good wins in 8 days, including away at Fulham in whatever the League Cup is called these days. Looks like Darrell has made some good additions to the squad over summer so things are looking good at the moment ( possibly until Tuesday anyway!)

My team, Man City have 7 points now, but performances have been underwhelming to say the least.
Liverpool next game, always a tough one, then Feyenoord away. We're hoping to get tickets for that one, already booked the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam and camp site at Delftse for 5 nights, might as well make the most of it 😊

Cracking match today. Town could have gone in at halftime 4 up and Southampton could have won late on. As Herr Wagner would say we seem to be a competitor at the moment. It's early days but 7 points and 3 clean sheets is a great start.

Great match, and a great result for City at Feyenoord last night.
What a place! Didn't get back to the 'van till after midnight, but didn't care.
Will try to post a photo, taken with the phone, and we were behind netting, so not very good.

I think the Alex start is similar :--
7 clean sheets ( attacking wise ) and 3 games earning the odd point or two .
All together now -- # Happy days are here again #
Up the Alex { well they couldn't get much lower }
{ TO grossly mis-quote Morcambe & Wise -- they are the same numbers, just not in the same order }

Well, Just suffered the coverage of the England match on TV with Radio Commentary ( I DETEST Tyldesly & Hoddle ) so now I remember why I follow the results of Poor old Crewe Alex -- at least they try to go forward. Now i'm hoping the Russians make a real "Tra la la" of the tournament so it get's cancelled & I've got no excuse to give in and start watching/listening.

Well, Hells Bells & little Fishy Fairies what a surprise at Gresty Rd
The Alex scored a deserved win by whipping Stevenage for the whole of the match & scraped a jammy goal after 90 mins + 4.
Bet Moulesy is happy too, yet another hard fought win for Bristol R !!

Sounds like a cracking holiday, meanwhile my missus has booked a weekend in the lakes when we play Stoke and a week in Scotland when we play Burnley and Wolves sad times.

Not seen much of Stoke this year tbh, i know you lost Arnautovic this year and he always impressed me and Berahino is having a mare, Leslie always gets his team well organised when facing us though.

As far as I can ascertain, Stoke are still trying to get thro' the road works on the M6 heading North . I am ever so reliably informed, you actually played the M60 road repairers pot-hole fillers second team -- they'll do ( almost ) anything to avoid having to get the pies in on a Saturday !
B
Not my team by the way, just the butt of jokes as we prepare for the panto season !!
