Well tonight is our last night on the one of the very best CLs that we've experienced, and we've used a few in our time!! Thanks Dean & Sharon for a really pleasant stay, it's just a pity that you couldn't organise better weather. wink So it's goodbye to Woody Kiln Farm....we will be back!

We've got up to another grey and wet morning and it looks set to rain on and off all day today. The ground is very soggy outside with lots of muddy patches from vehicles trying to move and getting stuck.

We've just finished breakfast and watched the news on Sky News sunrise. No plans to go out anywhere today. I've still got plenty to read from yesterdays newspaper.

Overcast here in North Norfolk although there is weak sun trying to break through. Wind has moderated although there is an occasional gust.

Sat in van watching geese flying by and a red kite looking for breakfast.  Off to Cley this morning to see what's about and to sample their cakes.

A brisk wind up here, but nice and sunny! Shopping beckons for me.....bargains and a few treats hopefully. Then possibly an hour in garden, bit of clearing and Winter prep. Enjoy your day, and keep safe everyone!

Grey,  windy  &  threatening  in  South  Cheshire  This  morning,  but I  managed  to  get the final ( for  this  week   !! )  bit  of  tittivation  done  on  the   workshop ( Shed )  to  try  &  get  it  thro  the  winter  without  tooooo  much  rot  or  water  ingress.  Now  I've  got  to  try  reaching  one  of  my  lucky  mates  who  has  flown  to  Spain,  yesterday  I  am  lead  to believe  for  a  birthday  celebration.  I  teased  him  about  flying  with  Ryanair,  "No  blooming  fear",  he  said,  "We're  flying  with  MONARCH"

Better  the  devil  you  know   as  the  saying  goes  WOT  ?!?!?

Nearly  choked  on  my  porage  when  I  heard  the  news,  so  very  glad  Old  Brian  stays  ere  in  GB  winkinnocent

Yes ABM.  There will be a lot of very unhappy and angry people around what with Ryan Air cancelling flights and now Monarch going bust.  Worrying times.

Half term is the last week of the month for most schools ABM and I expect quite a few people will have booked already so a big disappointment and possibly a loss of quite a lot of money as well.  We have booked flights to see our family in N.Ireland but luckily with neither of those airlines.  Fingers crossed.

OH wants to take middle daughter to see a friend of ours in Germany, only half term is available for our daughter and I'm wondering just how difficult or expensive it's going to be even if they find a flight. He says he will hire a car the other end, last time our friend met us he drove us at 120mph on the autobahn in the dark and rain.....surprised

Feeling really sorry for those booked with Ryanair and Monarch. That extends to those who've lost their jobs with Monarch.

Milliehull fingers crossed for your flights.

Brue I'm sure you can get to Germany, for a price. I think hiring a vehicle is extremely sensible 😲.

I was alarmed to read of engine falling off of an Air France A380 - it's a plane we use for NZ trips, different airline. Here's hoping 😲. Our flight home has been changed, few extra hours with the family as a result and second half will be on the new A350.

Terrible events in Las Vegas is it sensible or safe to even leave your house?

Perhaps  I  have  a  perverted  view  of  this  ol'  world  undecided  BUT

I'm  wondering,  over  a  cuppa  of  course,  If  B A L P A  the  pilots  Union  have  started  negotiating  with  Ryanair  for  short  (  &  expensivemoney-mouth )  term  contracts  for  them  to  take  on  the  now  jobless  Monarch  pilots,  might  help  both  sides  as  well  as  the  passengers   !wink

Terrible  thing  to  be  around,  MrR  not  helped  by the  quote  on  TV  News  from  the  N R A ,  I  think,  that  the  best  way  of  avoiding  such  happenings  is  for  even  more  of  the  population  to  have  &  carry  weapons.

I  just  hope  that  the  pleasures  you  recall  from  your  lives  together  are  sufficient  to  swamp  the  horrors  of  the  last  few  hours.

Thanks for your kind thoughts virgin hols phoned to check we are OK and if we wanted to go home. We have been here many times and have many wonderful memories and friends, we have decided to stay. It would appear from local news that this was a lone nutter and not a terrorist attack. There are lots of police and security people around both inside and outside hotel

Yesterday my wife had an appointment at the surgery in the morning to get the results of he blood test. She was happy to be told that the results were good.

After that, we went to WWT Arundel to give the Shogun a run. It started ok so no problem with the battery. We went to the Discovey Hide first and then on to the boat safari. By that time it was 16:30 so we were just in time for the last boat. There was a bit of light rain whilst on the boat but not for long, just a passing shower.

Following the baot trip, wee had a walk around and stopped for a little while at the Reedbed Hide before returning to the Visitor Centre. We finally left at 17:20, ten minutes before closing.

We've got up to a nice bright, sunny morning this morning. There's not a single cloud in the sky as I type this.

Well ,my dad had his operation yesterday (12 hours long) ,they removed all the affected jaw bone and rebuilt a new one with a bone from his forearm , they have put him an induced coma for another 24 hours ,so they control him waking up ,then about 9months of rehabilitation and speech therapy and liquid food . At least we're in the home straight. Off now to cheer up a tearful mum..........
