Duplicated Posts

Duplicate posts are a successful ploy by the IT staff to ensure that posts stay at a respectable rate!
They were trying for two duplicates on each post but sadly got the coding slightly wrong....still, they are not perfect.
Defending a cause can be stretched to indicate a 'Champion' but surely it can't be stretched far enough to include CC staff members?
Many do a very good job and often get thanked...and as a bonus they even get paid for it!

i have just caused a duplicate post (cycling info) and this is what happened....
i was typing but, before i finished, the post decided to 'post itself' (i dont think i touched the add thread button)....
so, as i hadnt finished, i edited the existing post to add the remainder of the post....i then updated this.
when i checked, we nlw had two posts exactly the same.
so, a clue for the IT chaps ......if theyre interested....

On both of them your-'use other post' request is there BB it could be a quiet thread. More info for cycling is a good idea mind

As the post seemed mainly about France I have moved to Overseas, as I thought it would be useful to people going to France. I noticed the small postscript at the bottom about Club sites which perhaps would be better posted as a separate thread?

David, the post was most definitely NOT about continental sites.
the point was that i wanted to get the reaction of those using uk sites and what information is available here (having given an example of the type of info that CAN be made a ailable if there is the will)....perhaps with a sustrans/club relationship.
we already know they do it right 'over there'....

DK, the post mentions France but elicits a response re the UK, turning the thread into a UK sites thread.

This site is still driving me up the wall.
I inadvertently started a new discussion in the CL section that was the subject of a recent discussion that had bypassed me when I was away on holiday. I immediately realised my mistake so Deleted User my post and now I can't access the original post as when I click on it it takes me to my own Deleted User post!
This is just stupid. After nearly a year of putting up with this forums foibles isn't it about time the iT staff sorted these basic errors out?
