There you go AD, well done. Everyday is a school day. You're welcome

Whereas some make no attempt to disguise it.

If the cap fits, people who do not understand 12.00 are thick, people who still persist are selfish, which camp do you sit in😄Smiley added.

Blinking heck its 2 years since I started this topic, doesn't time fly.
We've just finished our main summer holiday at Godrevy Club site in Cornwall. As I always do, I again played by the rules and on the day I arrived at Godrevy at 11:50am and tentatively walked into reception and asked did they want me to wait until 12 before I booked in. The warden said no problem they'd all ready checked some vans in. Prior to leaving home I'd asked on this forum for any tips members had about best pitches etc. A poster was very helpful and gave us pitch numbers to aim for. So after booking in we went around and we were annoyed to see new arrivals (who had not played by the rules) setting up on the pitch numbers we had been given to look out for. On the day of our departure there were two vans outside reception at 9am waiting to be booked in (I have no idea if they were allowed in or not)
I really am done with playing by the rules & from now on if it suits me I'll arrive early park my rig outside reception & not move until they let me in.
I do want to make it clear that my rant is not against the Wardens at Godrevy who were great but the selfish members of whom I'm now one who ignore the rules but get rewarded by the club in getting the pitch they want. If the club allowed members to preselect pitches at the time of booking much of the problems caused by early arrivers would stop.

I’ll not applaud your decision to join the rule breakers, FB.
Many seem to think it’s 1200/1300 check-in and they can turn up whenever they like ahead of that and block the access while they wait. Godrevy has more space for arrivals than most but on many sites such behaviour causes havoc.😟

I think it's a shame that you've found yourself forced into this position FB. Like you, we always aim to arrive on site at the official arrival time. On our latest club site visit at Putts Corner we were running early so parked up in the layby on the main road just before the crossroads leading down to the site. It was rather frustrating to then watch a couple of units sail past and turn down to the site. Having said that, we don't spend an awful lot of time on site so pitch choice is not particularly important to us anyway.
It's hard I know, but I'd rather not get into the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" games. And at peak times when sites are likely to be busy I'd go for a CL just to avoid the frustration.

In truth TW I'll stick by the rules I always do
But Its annoying that others don't, I don't blame the wardens or even the early arrivers its the Club senior managers that should address the problem. Choice of pitch when booking would help greatly. All the airlines do it with seat allocation so it can be done tech wise.

Pitch choice when booking sounds easy enough, and if the club operated a Saturday to Saturday system that would be fine. (Airlines can do it easily because everyone on the flight is starting and finishing at exactly the same time.) But, as has been said before it would be impractical where folk are booking different lengths of stay starting and finishing on different days. Or at least, if not impractical, very inefficient. I think the only folk who might gain would be those who regularly use the same site very frequently and know the lay out.
(I await explanations of how it's eminently possible, in fact standard practice in other places etc etc! )

Journey times are not an exact science and, IMHO, a bit of leeway, say 10-15 minutes should perhaps be allowed rather than the precision of 12:00:01. Voyages of "Dawn Treaders" should, however, be discouraged although given my infrequent visits to club sites, I don't have a problem.

Good for them. I wish all did, either one way or the other then there would be no grumbles, but until then well done wardens.
What's to complain about?

I understand your frustration but another way to look at it is there are lots of people like me who never leave before 12 noon, so if I was on a good pitch and you arrived at 11.00am you would not get my pitch.
I think until the club allow you to reserve a certain pitch it will always cause problems
Then again reserving pitches would not work on all sites as it is often difficult to see on a site plan which are good or bad, we like lots of sunshine so don't like to be near trees but you can't see that on site plans and you can't be sure which way the sun is rising/setting
Not sure there is a suitable answer to please everyone
Think it does need addressing though when you look at the price for a club site it should be 5 star

"... you can't be sure which way the sun is rising/setting..."
The sun always rises in the east and sets in the west.
That's one of the points you can see if you look at the site plan as it will always give a compass point so you can check which pitches will give you varying degrees of sun according to whichever way your pitch faces.

The 1200/1300 arrival times were set to give a network wide time to enable sites to get ready for the next influx, as we all know some sites have only one couple and others up to three or four couples at peak times on very busy sites, so depending on how many staff are on duty (they do not all work 24/7)then it is quite possible that after,a responsible member? had called the site an earlier arrival may be able to be accomodated as has been noted by posters on here
