Sun is shining in East Norfolk. Back from our trip to the Lakes and Scotland, van safely stored. Lawn mowed, some of the jungle cleared. More money going to leave my hands as just noticed one of the car fog-lights is smashed, they are a beast to replace so might have to get a garage to do it.

Great view of the Bristol balloon fiesta. Didn't need to move from the rally field 😆. Hope they go up tonight as they've not been able to any evening this year 😢
The Royal Navy balloon went high high high and released a powered paraglider and parachutist. Then land in a very controlled and gently in a very small field along side us campers. I hope the photo will be small enough to show as smallest I can get it 😆

I would think that that really cannot be good for you!
Sounds like you need to adjust your "clock" to fit in with your job, and adjust your meal times and types.so you are not going to bed right after eating a large meal.
Sleep longer in the morning, have a light breakfast about 10 am, make lunch your main meal, maybe around 2.30 pm, cuppa before work, and a light supper when you return home, then off to bed around 1.30am.
People who do shift work must have to adjust what they do with meals and sleeping, maybe some ideas on the web.

Nice photos Bakers. Even nicer to see them in the air. When we went last year they hardly managed any mass ascents due to the wind speed. They did light them up on the ground (tethered) one evening though.

It won't be a problem today because I finish work at 21:30 this evening!

Thanks for the photos B2, hope you had a good time, it's a really good event when the weather is OK. Better today I hope.!?
We were down at Abbotsbury sub tropical gardens again thanks to our Gardener's World card. Unfortunately there were delays en route near Beaminster, a car and boat trailer both turned over.
The gardens are looking wonderful just now.

there was AC in the room and restaurants/bars.
Also I'm starting to believe all the 'prices are cheaper over there'.
In the local market I bought a Fred Perry and Lacoste polo shirts, a Rolex and Breitling watch, two pairs of Ray-Bans, and a daughter bought a MK hand bag, all for 30 Euros. I can't understand why these things cost so much more over here

and a daughter bought a MK hand bag
What's so special about a Milton Keynes handbag?

Spotted a couple myself about 10:15 when out with Flyte but missed the full shower, and we've cloud cover tonight at Bromyard Downs.

Made my first loaf in my new oven yesterday, not a great success . The new oven has a dough proofing mode, the old one didn’t, the bread was edible but completely over proofen, I’ll try halving the proofing time next time. At least I’ll have freshly baked bread in almost half the time .

Today is the start of 3 days off from work. Hopefully, I'll get a reply this morning about whether the fridge can be fixed. Lovely sunny morning here.
It was busy yesterday evening at work so I was few minutes late finishing.

Sunny, calm start to the day here in East Norfolk, makes a change from recent weeks of travel Going to visit van and sort a few things out then off to the garden centre to see if we can get some spring cabbage plants. Will also visit BIL later who is now home after having a hip replacement after his fall.

Arrived home yesterday afternoon after a lovely weekend away at Stamford . We heard on the local radio that two steam trains were travelling over the viaduct at Harringworth on Saturday so went to watch not disappointed wonderful to see. Also a free exhibition in the village hall together with cream teas.
There must have been a steam train coming through our station last night too, we could hear it.
Back to normal service today, all washing now pegged out on the line and back to work.

We've just finished breakfast of reduced price chocolate croissants from Tesco.
Awaiting reply from Chipping Sodbury at the moment. If the reply is favourable, we will start taking the awning down and packing ready for travel. We can stay overnight at the services between junction 17 and 18 on the M4. Then we'll need to stay one more night somewhere else on the way back which will qualify us for another 21 nights on our seasonal pitch.
If they can't fit it in, we'll just stay here and use our newEnglish Heritage membership for days out.

It will be back to normal meal times for the next three days, KjellNN because of days off!

you now I said the exact same thing and my daughters rolled their eyes at me.
Actually I went back the next day and bought a large bright pink one that I'm going to use to store my awning pegs in! That should raise a few looks on site

I don't know if you noticed Malcolm but for when you go to Scotland again, your EH cards also get you in to Historic Scotland properties, such as Edinburgh and Stirling Castles, a vey big saving. You save 50% with your first card but 100% when you renew. Also works in Wales at Cadw properties like Conway Castle.
However, what was even better when we went to Edinburgh Castle, was the fact there was a desk for Scottish and other Heritage card holders, so straight in. 😀 There was about a 15 / 20 minute queue for tickets otherwise.☹️

also true for National Trust and National Trust for Scotland

Another pretty miserable day here, forecast said it would inprove around midday, which it did for an hour or two, but now raining again.
Got the fluid in the Alde changed yesterday, now I just need to persuade all the air to come out so I can top it up a bit more.
Never had any trouble with air in it last time.
Also put up the new front door light.
Today I was going to work on the car, but since it is wet I have instead been to the Guide Hall to fix a light that had stopped working.
Now, where did I put that list of jobs OH gave me.........?

We've been NTS members for years so have reduced fees due to the length of time and now concession rates. Too late to benefit from the concession rates offered by the NT. This year I paid £10 for the NT handbook and this was still less than joining full time. The NTS is better value for us. Prefer to support the UK efforts, Malta's record on bird/wildlife destruction is grim.
