Time for another photo? Here's Cath with the captain of her cruise ship on the Avon. (camera lens needed a clean hence the fuzziness!.)

I have just added some extra photos in a story I have just posted. I tried to get away with photos 700 pixels wide but I have noticed that they are a bit squashed so I think I will have to go back to 650 wide. BTW this is using Chas's method of photo insertion into the main body of text.

    Hi Rochelle

I am trying to add a profile picture which is the correct size (not too big), appears on my profile when opened but disappears once I try to update profile?

    Thanks

Are you using an Apple product? It seems people are having difficulty getting their profile picture accepted, I think a clash of systems. It would be interesting to know whether any progress on this problem. I will highlight to Rowena.

I had to click on adobe last time I changed my profile pic. It worked but took ages to appear. Not had to do this before.

Innovative/artistic/recycling use of an old tyre into a swing. There were 3 each slightly different.  1 swing  being used by a little girl as we passed.

Sunset here last week.  First uploaded to FB and then downloaded to phone.  If you do it that way around it's another way of achieving an acceptable size for CT.

On my android phone I resize to 800 pixels, this seems to work better than the 500 pixels I use on the laptop.

I should just stick with what works for you, Brue.  The trouble is, it's probably going to vary from phone to phone, according to the spec of the phone camera.

Hello Little Lamb. I'm so sorry you are having issues with this. First try and clear your cache. If this doesn't work there is a known defect and I'm chasing our IT team for a resolution to this issue. In the meantime I sincerely apologise for the problems you have experienced.

Normally when I post photos I already have them in the photo directory on my pad, so reduce their size in an app and then add them by using, the Add Photo button and selecting photo library.

However, the other day I didn't have the photo I wanted so thought I would use the other option, (available on the Add Photos button), of Take Photo or Video. When pressed this as expected access the camera and lets you take a photo, then automatically tries to add it to the post. However, as it does not resize it you of course get the message that the file size must be under 500kb. I am a little confused as to why this option is available. Are there any devices capable of running CT (I say this as it won't run on my ancient Android phone) that are going to take pictures with file sizes less than 500kb? I would have thought it unlikely.

ps.  It also did not save the photo anywhere, so there was nothing to resize, if that was what is intended when using the option.

No problem uploading pics from the PC or the Laptop.

The Android phone however is not playing ball with this forum software. Anybody with an Android phone been successful at uploading pics taken on the phone directly to here without the use of 3rd party software ?.

Any Android phone capable of running the CAMC site is likely to produce photos many times larger than can be loaded directly K. If you want to upload them you will have to use some sort of 3rd party software. The easiest is a specific resize app.

I use an iphone / pad, however the principle is the same. Import photo into app, resize to 500 x 375 pixels for landscape, 375 x 500 for portrait and save. Image is saved back into your picture directory. Then select the resized image using add photos.

I often put Android phone photos on here, they are not as good as camera photos. I don't use a third party but I edit first via "export" on the phone, not as small as required for a camera shot and I've experimented with larger sizing which works ok.. When I've edited the size I use the add image tab on here, go into documents on the phone and find the resized photo.

Hi brue, was playing with a new app to adjust pic sizes as the one I had used will not run in IOS 11. The new app is called Image Size, is free on the App Store and is easy to use-well I can use it so it must be!
