Bright start almost hot clouding over now. Breakfasted outside usual chores and once washing pegged out its garden tidying. Plenty of deadheading required. No plans for anything exciting 😦. Nice catch up with cousin yesterday, shes lost 8.5 stone and beginning to look much more like her old self, so glad to see a change for her but lots of issues to sort as well.
Safe journeys to all those travelling today.

Dull wet start here in the Pennines but it's brightened up into a grand day now. The old weather saying in these parts "rain before seven dry by eleven" held good on this occasion.
just got back from a long walk and my manky toe is a bit sore😫

Cloudy but very warm and humid today, been trying to remove a stain from the bottom of the curtains, proving to be rather stubborn
Going to have to fight OH for the telly remote, whose idea was it to have the men's finals at Wimbledon and the British GP on the same day!
The Red Arrows have just flown over on their way to Silverstone.

We left Chapel Lane at 9.30 and got here at 12.45 so not bad abd there were no hold ups on the M5 for once

Busy day again, gave the new door frame its first coat of primer this morning. Then on to the front garden, one half is a gravel bed where the plants have got a bit big and untidy so I've been cutting down bushes that are ok to do so, dug up a redhot poker that is really just a hotel for snails need OH's muscles to dig up and remove a bush that has had its day, everything is looking better for it so far. Still somethings to be moved but not just now, later on in the season.
OH has been busy removing tar from the motorhome after the council managed to spray it last week, the cars were not too bad to do but the motorhome is going to take much longer I fear.
Weather today has been dry with the odd bit of sunshine fairly cool with the ever present blustery wind. Looking at Countryfile I think Monday/Tuesday we might get summer

The Red Arrows along with the Amercian Display Team have been on show at the Royal International Airshow at Fairford this weekend. So a short flight by their standards to Silverstone.
Even so with some of the amazing planes on show,I got the goosebumps when the 4 Spitfires and Lancaster flew overhead in formation.

Today turned out better than we thought, rain never arrived.
Got to son's house just after 12, had a nice lunch, played with grandchildren, and with new puppy, which is mega cute! And really small.
She is a Cava Poo, so will always be small as parents were small. Very nice temperament, and doing really well with her training. Really friendly.
Discussed changes to house with son, they are planning to do away with bedroom 5 and enlarge bedrooms 3 and 4 plus make a new shower room. With only 2 children, they only need 3 bedrooms plus a guest room. Lots of work needed!

We had a day out visiting the NT Knole in Sevenoaks. We saw plenty of deer when walking from the car park to the house. We visited the showrooms and also had a picnic lunch in the picnic area.
After that, we went on to visit Rochester and drove to the beach at Grain before heading back to Worthing.

On the contrary K. All my insurances are on automatic renewal. I still recieve the quotes and can act on them and check elsewhere. Also I have a period after renewall when I can cancel and just pay pro-rata without additional charges. I do pay in one lump however. It simply means that if life gets in the way of my renewing I,at least, still have cover.

We've just got up to a sunny morning here in Worthing in contrast to yesterday morning when it was cloudy and overcast. Nevertheless, the weather did start to change by the time we got to Knole and we had sunny weather the rest of the day.
I've got another day off from work today.

Automatic renewal as opposed to direct debit can be a real pain in the rear end, particularly when wanting to cancel.
Back on topic, bright sunny day and still day on the East coast. Will be preparing the van for our forthcoming trip commencing Thursday. Yippee

I find it's best to select the option of automatic renewal. It's easy to forget to renew as happened to me once with Green Flag and had to pay for a callout.

It's not as hot as it has been though, BB. When we visited Knole yesterday, the heat was just about bearable.
We're planning to visit Highdown Gardens today provided it stays cool enough. If not, it will be back to the caravan air-conditioning and that's heaven compared to sweating in the hot kitchen at Pizza Hut!

Back home now from our Pembrokeshire holiday. The journey was straightforward with no hold ups on the motorways. We were struck by how many caravans overtook us even though we were doing a steady 65-70 (without the caravan). I even saw a caravan travelling on the opposite carriageway with 2 roof vents wide open.. We had a brilliant holiday with the family from N. Ireland but are now missing them terribly as it will be another 2 - 3 months before we see them again.
Hope all those away are having the same lovely weather as we have got here.

Yes, it does remove the risk of forgetting or not being in the position to renew something vital, but you are checking you are getting a good deal.
However, Malcolm wrote........
"My caravan insurance automatically renews. I pay monthly by direct debit for 5Cs insurance through the Caravan Club. If you did the same, KjellNN, it would be one less job for you to do. "
This suggests to me that he did not bother to check that he was still getting the best deal as he reckons it means I would not have needed to do anything at all, which is not good advice!

Good afternoon all !!
Now fully awake after short break trying ( and failing ) to educate them thar northerners on the Yorks / Lancs border areas !
Bit damp & mizzley on Saturday morn, but after an hour at Masham most definitely warming up ! A good show that I've not visited for a fair few years, but it has taken me to a Club Site, { Wharfedale } that I've never, ever used
Nice enough site altho' surprisingly full even when I arrived on Wednesday. Must say that all seemed to be just what I wanted with just the one, obligatory, grouse. Lovely new MVSP designed for all from micro campers up to DGB American sized Mobiles but why o why plant it right outside the amenities block!! So many folks going off site need a 'comfort break' just before hitting the road and there's a motorvan disgorging a fair few gallons of grey water in the one spot they can reasonably pull up.
Still I won't, and didn't, complain 'cos the general effect was of a nice clean, well presented site, even down to having an inordinately large number, to my mind, of caravanning cats
If I have no more complaints over the next 3 months I reckon I, and the CAMC, will have done very well indeed.
Hope you lot have as much fun / pleasure as I've just had.
Off for a fresh pot of tea,, tara Kids

One other point, which we all should be aware of is that with the Club policy, if you have added equipment cover to the caravan sum insured, thus making the sum insured significantly higher than the cost of a replacement caravan, you will need to review the sum insured every year.
The Club will tell you the new caravan replacement cost, but if your sum insured is still higher than that, they will not automatically increase the total sum insured.
You need to recalculate the total amount of cover you need yourself, and ring them to amend the sum insured.
Malcolm, you have a few extras on your van......air con, mover, awning.....plus you will also presumably be covering your battery, gas bottles, Aquaroll etc, so your sum insured, like ours, will be quite a bit more than just the cost of a replacement van. So like us, you will need to review the amount every year.
