We've arrived at Poston Mill Caravan site today, for a few nights which will include a family wedding celebration.  Internet in the wilds of Herefordshire is next to none - at the moment we've popped into Hereford to do some shopping at Tescos.  It should be a quiet few days without the Internet.

Car is sounding a bit rough.  Why does this always seem to happen just before our main holiday (starting in 12 Days time)

    David

Today was the last day for Mrs M's sister, OH and Weimaraner so we joined them for the traditional last night fish & chips supper on the memorial bench (to the girls'parents who joined us for so many family holidays down here over the years) up at Droskyn Point. Managed to persuade a passing stranger to record the scene - dogs not particularly cooperative! - and here also is the view from the hench all the way along Perranporth beach.  smile

Globe Vale (Redruth, Cornwall) - 14 nights

Tredegar House CAMC site - 2 nights

Gowerton CAMC site - 4 nights

Windmill Hill (Pembroke) - 7 nights

then 4 nights - to be decided

Glenfield Caravan Park (nr Leeds) - 7 nights

That covers us until the end of August.  Car is sounding rough at the moment, so I guess it will be subject to the car getting us there!  Why is it that just before we go away for our summer jaunt, something goes wrong with the car?!!

Working through our list of "things to do".......caravan insurance renewed, 2 new outside lights for the house ordered, source of suitably sized railway sleepers to repair steps in garden found.

Next week I need to speak to our towbar fitter as the electrics are not 100% what  we thought we were getting on the Touareg, and speak to Truma as we may have a mover problem.  The caravan needs cleaned outside, so that takes care of another day, and OH is muttering about the house windows needing cleaned.  frown  Then there will be the new CH   clock to fit, and the new lights we have ordered.

This weekend we are going to our daughter's house as she has a few jobs for me, and to our son's house to meet their new puppy.......it's all go!

Mixed weather here today, but yesterday was pretty good until late afternoon, so our garden helper has power washed about 2/3 of the slabs.  He had another job on today, so will finish them tomorrow.

Been an uninteresting few days, not done much apart from work, and a bit of tennis watching. Gum is still a bit sore but it seems to be healing.

Reading all the posts about holidays and planned holidays, made me want a break, so booked a couple of nights at very local CL we used for new van test run. It's only about 3 miles from our storage, but very quiet and lovely views, just right for some R&R. Roll on next weekend.  smile

My caravan insurance automatically renews. I pay monthly by direct debit for 5Cs insurance through the Caravan Club. If you did the same, KjellNN, it would be one less job for you to do.

We've just finished breakfast of cereal followed by bacon and eggs on toast.

It's rather grey and overcast this morning but nice and cool. I always think the sun is nice in cooler seasons like Spring, Autumn and Winter. When the sun comes out in the Summer, it can get oppressively hot. Too hot to go out anywhere other than a beach or swimming pool. Todays grey sky feels a lot more comfortable to me! I'm sitting out in the awning in the relaxer right now. No need for aircon at the moment!

Day off from work tomorrow and just three hours to do tonight.

You should consider a move to the north Malcolm, lots of grey weather up here.

You don't know how lucky you are, up there, Natasha2! You can go out without feeling uncomfortable! However, I'll still have to work in hot Pizza Hut kitchens with no aircon up north!

Very little out of the routine going on here! Warm and grey again today, meeting a cousin who is coming up from Sussex  to visit her parents grave so be good to catch up. Caught up with friend and ex colleague yesterday, she lost her grandson 7 months ago - drug related 😢. She's doing well we had lovely walk, opening up is so much easier when you walk 😉 either side of lunch. Been taking it easy as afternoons are tennis watching times, nice to indulge without a hint of guilt 😇😇.

    Very bad advice Malcolm.........

    1.  Always shop around with insurances, never auto renew.

    2.  Paying monthly costs more, in fact it would have been an additional £25.50 in this case.  Most insurers charge extra for monthly payments.

Plus, it took me no time at all as OH takes care of all our finances!

    Multitasking.

Installing Windows 10 on my backup laptop (to bring it in line wither the desktop) and eating cherries.

Oh, and making dinner. (Chicken kebabs and vegetable rice).

Our caravan insurance is also through CC on direct debit too, it's still worth shopping around. I still have to phone to confirm renewal, I didn't think it renewed automatically. undecided

Well sold a bike and some Fiamma caravan water and waste containers on Gumtree this week, both sold within a day of putting the adivert on., well pleased.smile

Been looking at some old holiday photos this morning,  they have been bringing back lots of memories, especially the ones taken on last holiday with our sons.

Weather has turned cloudy and much cooler, good excuse to watch the tennis later. wink

The renewal gives a choice of continuous authority, or not, and monthly DD at extra cost or a single payment.

If you have a 0% credit card, that is ideal as you can put it on that, pay off so much per month, and thus get free credit.

Another dull and wet day here frown went to visit Mum this morning at the home, everything fine.

Just finished watching F1 qualifying now off to sand down the new door frame and start the painting process.

We never auto renew insurance as we like to shop around, always pay yearly.

They told me that I did not need to do anything and furthermore that the monthly premiums would be less because of no claims bonus. It must have renewed automatically because they are still collecting the monthly payments of a lesser amount than last year.

Went to Bristol, the M5 was jammed in several places including an overturned caravan earlier in the day. So travelled the back way which doubled the journey time. Have to sort the van again quickly for a trip back to Bristol! Passed Baltic Wharf today, will be seeing it again in a few days. Slightly bad planning. wink

Oh dear brue. We plan to be on the M5 tomorrow for part of our journey home from Wales. I hope it behaves itself. Have a great time at Baltic Wharf.

David I hope your car behaves itself for your trip. It sounds like a wonderful tour.

Helen your weekend away at your local site sounds wonderful for some R& R.

This education business can be expensive. A couple of weeks ago I was buying a graduation present for my eldest GS, yesterday my youngest GS brought his school report home. Now we've always rewarded good reports for both of them but his was excellent this time. I offered him a tenner he mentioned fifty and we settled somewhere in between 😀

BB, you will find the CCC site is very strategically placed, sandwiched as it is between Chichester Caravans, for any odd bits you may require and The Travellers Joy, which does a reasonable meal at prices which don't make your eyes water. Shore Road round from Bosham when it isn't spring tides is a pleasant rural ride towards Apuldram.
