Our awning doesn't work that way. You either have to take the sides and/ or front windows out completely or not at all. Like you say, it's cooler under a tree.

Cooler here today, but very pleasant.

Went to Snowshill Manor (yet another cream tea smile) and a wander around the manor - always something new to see.

Then we went to Sezincote House and had a tour of the house. We've done it several times, but each guide has a different take on it. Today, it was the guide's first tour, so she was rather nervous.

Back to caravan for a nice curry, courtesy of M&S.

I would love to! Wonder if they'll take the car back? Actually it wasn't that bad, about a grade D (at A level) so he/she might be ok.

Then why not sit under a tree, instead of faffing about with an awning.....and keep having a/c repaired?

Has it broken down again yet?

It's been an interesting if painful week. Last weekend had a large very painful abscess, face very swollen, 2 different antibiotics from the dentist.  It's taken a few days for the swelling and pain to subside.

Then today after an 8 month wait and 3 delays we finally picked up the new caravan! Handover went well , we were just daring the dealer to find a problem with our old van!! As it was never said a word.  So far all seems ok with new one. Decided to book a couple of nights at a local CL to check everything thoroughly as we have holiday in Yorkshire booked from the end of next week. Have spent this evening putting some of the stuff in the new van, trying to find places for everything. New van doesn't really fit on the drive,  so will drop it back at storage on the way back from the CL.

PS. Never shop at Tesco and no air con in the new van - not sure how we're going to manage. laughing

    Plus one 😆.

We have just had the most wonderful sunset - well what we could see if it. So what with the forecast and a bit of luck you should be in for some decent weather too.

Well once again the storm was a damp squib, I love thunderstorms as long as I feel safe. This last one was a few rumbles a quick flash and half a dozen drops of rain 30 mins later the sun was back out as hot as ever (I'm  not complaining) nice swim in the pool to cool down followed by an ice cream smile can life get any better. Hope your all enjoying the good weather back home.

It's  still 26c in the m/h no air con,  just a fan now we have the door closed for the night.

It's still working, IanH! Nice and cool! smile The awning gives us a lot of extra space for storage etc. After spending £350 for repairs, we might as well use it. tongue-out We keep the electric oven and hobs in the awning which we use for cooking our meals to save gas.

Using ehu to power up your hob/oven to save money.  Just think of the capital cost of the units and the additional weight which all the gear costs you every time you hitch up and move.wink

Lovely morning on the East Norfolk coast again this morning.

We have the 3 year old grandtwins coming over this afternoon for a sleepover whilst daughter and SIL off to the Take That concert in Norwich, what larkslaughing

Helen so sorry to hear about your painful abscess. I hope it is getting better.  But so very pleased to hear that you have at long last got your lovely new caravan.  How exciting!! I hope you have a really good weekend at your local CL and that everything works well in the new van. You will have a lovely time sorting out where to put everything and working out how everything works. I think the weather forecast is good as well.  I hope your son in Manchester is OK and that he and his colleagues are beginning to get over the trauma of the attack.

Bit of a keep moving day today getting ready for trip tomorrow. All washing up to date and now dry on the line, need to take it in very soon. House cleaned. Odd bit if shopping bought. All food gathered together. Himself has got his clothing sorted 😇 a first time for everything! I've got to put mine out. Himself has dentist for new crowns at 3.40. I don't think we're going to get stuff over to the van after all today, domestic reasons on that front too 😉. I want to get away early and the night owl says ok 🤔. Forecast looks good, site arrival time 8am onwards I expect I'll still be champing at the bit indoors at that time 😲. Thanks milliehull for your good wishes will be great to see son and his OH. Note to self ask no questions on any plans lol....... that'll be toughest of the lot 😂😂😂

Much cooler today about 26c  but with a nice breeze so very pleasant, although the storm didn't  really happened here it has had an effect. After cycling up to the shops to get fresh bagette  this morning I came back and made up a packed lunch. We then went for a 15 mile cycle along the canal, very good cycle path. Stopped for a late'ish lunch by a series of locks and watched the comings and goings, all very relaxed and lazy sat in the sun, perfectsmile. Right knee playing up today though, not had it this sore for awhile, so I've put some sport tape on it to see if that helps.

Now sat out in the sun having finished my ice cream and a crafty snooze laughing

Site very quiet today, yesterday we had lots of German vans come on but this morning they all went again, I think this weekend sees the end of the Germans spring holiday so they must all be heading home.

Have a good weekend all those who are going away.

£350 for a bit of stitching and a pole.......sounds like a real bargain, Malcolm!

How much did they charge you for re-repairing your a/c?

Currently sitting in the chair listening to the dishwasher. An hour ago it decided to pump its contents over the kitchen floor.☹️ I think it only uses about 5lt but it doesn't half make a mess. Hopefully I have sorted it, just monitoring a couple of empties to make sure. First OK, just waiting for the next. Normally we put it on when we go to bed, so it could have been much worse. Fortunately the OH put it on early tonight, otherwise it would have been 20lt or so to mop up.

We got a whole new set of poles. The a/c was repaired free of charge because it is still under warranty. It has a five year warranty.

We left Worthing soon after 9 a.m. and took the A27 westbound route to Southampton and then M3/ A34 before joining the M4 westbound. We had two breaks on the journey. The first stop was on a layby on the A34. Our choice of laybys was limited as the first couple of laybys were out of use. Our next stop was on the services between junction 17 and 18 of the M4 where we got ourselves a pasty from Greggs for lunch.

We arrived at the service department of Chipping Sodbury Caravans at 2 p.m. Both bulbs in the washroom needed replacing. They did it free of charge and we also got the service booklet stamped.

We arrived at Cirencester Park club site at about 3.30 p.m. and got settled into our pitch. Today, we plan to take a walk through Cirencester Park to the town centre to do some shopping at the pound shop there. Then tomorrow back to Worthing.

A 6kg propane gas cylinder can cost up to £25. That can get quite costly if you keep using gas. On overnight stops at services where there is no ehu, we have no choice but to use gas. However, we don't use much because one cylinder has lasted us over a year. Just imagine how much it would cost over a year if you had to use one cylinder every week! I reckon about £1300. You can buy a seasonal pitch for the entire season, with ehu, for less money than that!

We've just had breakfast and it's hot already so we've put the aircon on. If it's this hot early in the morning, I dread to think what it will be like by midday.

We had planned on a walk through the park into the town centre, however, the sweltering heat has resulted in a change of plans. We'll be visiting the Cirencester Tesco Extra instead where it's air-conditioned so we can shop in comfort and be rewarded with extra points!
