Phoned Dr's at 8am engaged, dialled again didn't ring but voice said good morning 😆. Appointment 9am, Dr I've not seen for years, much mellowed 😉. Running 15 mins behind only an hour after opening! She changed my pills hopes these work, explained could last 3 months 😲 now 7 weeks and could recur with infections 😲😲. Showed me more exercises. Naturally today it all seems fine, good job they don't test you on the day! Routine blood test booked for Thursday morning. Gee it's all go 😆.
Visited lonely aunt - hubby cut her grass, beautiful flowers in it and I hung a new net for her. No change there 😉. But clear conscience until we return from our trip 😇.
Swift top up of food on the way back and now indulging myself in the garden. Sun has gone in and the stiff cool breeze is more noticeable but I'm not going in. Couldn't sit out earlier as next door had tree surgeons in with noisy tools!

Hi all, we are back with free wifi once again. We've just had 5 lovely days on a site at Doucier , found it by flicking through the Acsi book. What a lovely area, lots of lakes and waterfalls. We climbed one the other day took a couple of hours there and back but boy was it worth it. We have moved just over 60 miles this morning to Besencon, will stay for a couple of days, the old town is a world heritage site. The weather is still hot and sunny.

We intended to head into Austria again from Slovenia but the locations forecast was rain, so we followed the sun and now on the Adriatic coast in Italy and not a cloud in the sky
Six weeks gone and another four to go, retirement is wearing me out

We've had an easy day in the caravan today. It was quite chilly when we first got up this morning. After lunch, I fell asleep for a while and by the time I woke up the weather had changed. It's now very hot and sunny so I'm inside the caravan posting this with the airconditioner on.

Now that we're booked to get it fixed by Chipping Sodbury Caravans, it seems best to leave it to them. No point in my fiddling about with electrics that I know nothing about!

Lovely sunny evening. Now that it's getting later, it may cool down sufficiently to be able to sit out in the awning.

I just had a look at their website. It looks good, Chris. It seems Sapperton's a quiet village between Stroud and Gloucester.

Sorry, I meant Cirencester not Gloucester.
I'm having difficulty editing and posting on here as the system seems to be running very slow at the moment.

It's just a short distance down the main road from the site, Malcolm. Turn right onto the Stroud road and it's about a 10 minute drive. It does get very busy though, you'd have to book or the evening, but if the weather's good, as is forecast, there's a large garden out front which is perfect for lunchtime followed by a stroll round the village in the afternoon.

When in Cirencester I always have a meal in Made by Bobs. Excellent food and reasonable cost.

We've woken up to a lovely sunny morning here in Worthing. We've just had breakfast of cereal and toast.
Today we plan to visit Hat Hill on the NT Drovers Estate which has panoramic views over the South Downs, Goodwood and Chichester. We'll be taking a picnic lunch with us. On the way back we may visit WWT Arundel.

Arrived yesterday in Amsterdam, just after 12.30 to be sure of getting a pitch at Gaasper Camping, which is very convenient for the city centre.
They would not let us book ahead of time as we are a twin axle, not sure what difference that makes as we are no longer than, and not as wide as, some of the German single axles we have seen, and they claim To be suitable for longer vans.
If using ACSI you are allocated pitch, taken there by a member of staff, and directed how to pitch. UK vans must go nose in, but all cars must be parked nose out for safety reasons!
Nice level grass pitches, water and waste nearby, and we are close to the facilities, so all is good.
After lunch we put up the awning and repacked the car so we can use the back seat as my sister-in-law is coming tonight for 3 nights.
Today we have done the washing and organised museum and transport tickets, so we are all set for sightseeing tomorrow and Thursday.
Off now for some shopping

Spent the day sorting paperwork, mine and mums, including booking some hotels and secure parking for our Eurostar trip later in the year. It is interesting to note that it is not just the CAMC which has IT issues. The secure parking at Ashford let me book pay etc. Before it told me I would not be getting a confirmation as they had problems sending emails to BT mail, Yahoo and few others. They then gave an email to contact to say I had not had the email. Hopefully I will get something in the post.

We followed the route to the NT Drovers Estate. The post code led us to the village in Singleton but we failed to find the actual place, so we just drove around the village and then went on to WWT Arundel where we had our picnic lunch in the picnic area. Unfortunately, there's no shade in the picnic area so it got uncomfortably hot. Then we went for a walk around visiting the various hides and the reedbed walk. The Sandmartin hide was closed so as not to disturb them. The woodland hide was the most comfortable as it is sheltered by trees and there was a cool breeze.
Whilst visiting the Ramsar hide we saw a Herring Gull swoop down and grab one of the ducklings and then fly off.
On the way back we stopped at the Tesco Extra next to the club site to refuel the Smart car.
We're back in the caravan now with aircon running and at last enjoying a cup of tea in a more comfortable temperature.
Next we plan to do some shopping in the Worthing town centre.

Well done Tricky good to know how to tackle it, have he tools and be nimble enough 😆 to fix it.
I shut myself out recently putting an extra bit out for rubbish/recycling. I normally flick the snek in out of habit, but I didn't. Back door wide open through draught SLAM. Whoops! Years since I've had to haul myself onto the fence panel and unbolt the side gate and now we have a foot higher fence. Contemplated the situation and decided to try the gate. It wasn't bolted yipeeee in bolted and indoors via back door.
We have spare keys in the back garden but accessing these days not so easy! Time for a rethink I believe but block paved front garden offers no hiding place 😲. Any decent suggestions most welcome.

Cycled into Besoncon today, first 5 mins from the site was a bit horrible as we had to go via a very busy fast road but once that was past the next bit was ok as the road was quieter, then onto 6km of dedicated cycle path right into the town.
Very hot today at 34c even now its still 24c and its 19.23. Moving on again tomorrow to Epinal, will probably stay until Sunday if we like it then move on up to Luxembourg for the last week.
Can't believe that we have nearly finished this trip, what a good time we have had, this has to be one of our favourite trips we done. We will certainly come back over to this side of France again, need to do some planning next time though as there is so much to see and do.

Went to the theatre in Stratford last night. For a change, we went to the smaller Swan Theatre. It wasn't a Shakespeare play (it was a comedy called Vice Versa) and was really good.
Treated Mrs H to a meal out beforehand (Weatherspoons, with free drink........pushed the boat out
).
Good night out.

Today we went to two NT properties - Packwood House and Baddesley Clinton.
Despite the sat nav not taking us directly to the first one, incredibly, we were still able to find them
Particularly enjoyed Baddesley Clinton, where we had (another!) cream tea. Ducks were wandering around the outdoor seating area, including some young ducklings, who had clearly 'learned the ropes'.
One or two people looked a little put out by this, but I loved it. 'Somehow' bits of scone kept falling from my plate
There was a swallows nest in the rafters above the entrance porch to the house. Several little beaks could be seen protruding and the two parents were busily flying in and out of the porch with food.
Oh, and the property was very interesting too.
