Hi everyone,

The Club's website and Insurance services will be unavailable from 22:00 on Wednesday 14 June to 06:30 on Thursday 15 June. If you visit the website during these times, a holding page will displayed.

Many thanks for your patience during these maintenance periods.

Hannah

    Thanks Hannah

Hopefully a message like this can be put on CT every time. I did not notice one for the last two lots of maintenance. Were they unplanned?

Also I can't see any notification on the main site. Would it not be worth putting something on there.

Are you able to tell us what upgrades are being added during this downtime?

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for coming back to me and I'm glad you find the updates useful. A notification has just come through about our Insurance Services - this section of the website will be unavailable between 05:00 and 08:30 tomorrow morning, 13 June.

The last two rounds of maintenance were also planned. Because of the time of day, we wouldn't add an extra service notification to the main site. Generally speaking, the maintenance slots are for testing or patching of the servers, but where there are any upgrades or fixes, we'll keep everyone updated with the outcomes.

Surely if it is planned maintenance someone should have the opportunity to add a banner with dates and times?

I don't think they like to admit that it falls over without warning. What's that current phrase? Oh yes, "strong and stable".

All my site search gives me no availability for the dates chosen.....no dates have been chosen. Some sites have even disappeared?? Best of it when I do find a site and plane a route it always gives me a start position of Glasgow, not bad really when I am on the Cheshire Staffordshire border, progress or what, didn't have this problem when it was owned by the caravan club.....( a bit tongue in cheek methinks)

It looks like Willy Walsh's technician has called at CMC HQ and screwed it all up. How can you loose sites at this rate?

I wonder how other major companies in the liesure industry manage their 'essential maintence' without essentially shutting their website so often for hours at a time.  This really isn't a very good advert for the rebranding of the club etc..

I don't use any other websites to the same frequency as the CAMC, so I would not be aware of  any shutdowns to the same extent. However, I certainly get quite a few alerts from the bank saying their app will be down in the early hours of Sunday, for maintenance.😀

I can't claim to be an expert on websites but as a user but rarely do I click on one that says maintenance occurring. I online bank with three different banks - rarely off line. But good advance notice sometimes a week in advance and unavailable overnight. Never had an issue on flea bay or amazon fb etc so how do they cope? Even the council I worked for rarely had unavailability and they weren't well known for fantastic IT 😂😂😂

    Good morning to you all.

We were notified in the office that there was an issue with the UK booking system yesterday morning.

As some of you noticed, some sites were working and some were not. Huge apologies for this.

Some of the sites were not coming up at all and some were defaulting to our Abbey Wood (London) site.

As of first thing this morning, we were notified that all was working fine again.

Thank you so much for your patience whilst our Service Desk fixed this.

Please do notify us if you experience any further website issues.

The Website Helpline number is 01342 336612.  Thanks again!

I do sympathise with the club staff having to defend the indiefensible. I have a number of apps for other travel companies/ferry company's, banks etc., and they never seem to have multiple outages, in fact I can't remember the last time some of them closed.  I have stopped using the club to book ferries due the continued site problems. It forced me to look around and I found Ferrys Direct which turned out to be cheaper as well.

I am curious as to which helpline number you rang. We have been on a club site since Sunday and unable to access this site on either a Kindle Fire HDX which works fine at home or my iPhone (says site insecure and refuses to connect). Rang helpline yesterday morning got airangel who said Kindle may not be compatible but could not answer for iPhone and said would get back to me. Still waiting! Have now managed to wrestle connection to paid for CAMC  wifi from OH and no problem connecting on Kindle and making this post. It would now seem you have to pay for WiFi  to access CT or make a booking on a club site so I asked airangel how I could pay had I needed to renew my WiF since cannot connect ; no answer to that! Sometimes I think this  whole site is as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Even though the site is only bronze rated I have no problem with sending this post now I am on the paid for Wifi. The problem is the on-site front end log in page which should have an active link to the main club website  and it does not work. I have explained this to airangel and now to the club helpline who referred me back to airangel. It seems no one is capable of sorting this out.

We always have the £25 option as we spend over 100 nights on cc sites each year

I also have the year long option but I should not need to use this to access the main club website from a club site to check my forward bookings or use CT.

Just found a post about this issue by royandsharont on 25/03/2017 after previous work on the system. Rowena replied on 6/04/2017 that the situation had been resolved and we could access the club website for free again. Since I can get no resolution form either airangel or the club helpline can I ask if  you will please raise this with IT again Rowena

As you correctly point out back in March there was a problem accessing the free wifi element. This was supposedly fixed. Just over a week ago there certainly was no problem at Cirencester Park.

That was on an iPad. I did not try on my iphone but have certainly had problems in the past. I think there is some incompatibility. We also have the £25 year option and the phone signs on with no problems, the login screen pops up when you connect and I think this is part of the problem, as the highlighted text that says you can connect to the club for free, does not work. Where as on the iPad when I connect it never boots up the log in screen, I have to input a non CC web page (I use bt.com) to prompt it. However, if l go direct to the CC site it runs with no problems.
