    Brue definitely different on my phone to what is was before. Boats and coloured houses is what I see now.

    Photo of Aberaeron has now appeared. Looks like a 24 hour adjustment on my android phone. I didn't try to speed it up .

    The rain has stopped, looks like we won't get much more. Quite humid.

    Off on a tour of this place tomorrow Cannington Gardens

    Have been before but will be on a special guided tour followed by tea. There are some good hothouses there, if we do get rain we'll be sweltering in the tropics of Cannington. wink

    Hope its shining all day, particularly in the foreign country known as Wales. Will I be able to read the road signs?

    Oh heck! haven't made it that far yet. Never mind meet with my Bro. tomorrow for a chat then try for foreign climes. Oops, forgot to bring my passport.

    Nice to see club members took heed of my warning - everyone seemed to be going in the opposite direction.  Well done lads and lassies you are now all safe from my lunatic driving, for two days.

    Today, because my SIL and daughter have purchased their first house I have taken a load of rubbish and cuttings to the tip with my daughter, Installed a rope ladder for my 2 grandkids in Bristol. Pressure washed a patio and path that I had removed all the dirt from between the slabs and cemented up again. Over the last 4 days I have sorted out a blocked rain down spout and got the blocked water to run away instead of pouring over the guttering! cleaned the dirt from a rather neglected guttering, soffit board and UPVC windows etc, Taken a shed down and converted it to kindling, cleared and levelled the area where it stood, taken another two huge loads to the local tip, refitted a curtain rail that was coming off the wall, and numerous other small jobs- and I thought I was retired! 😂😂😂

    I quake at the thoughts of the M5M4 today! We christened the intersection Death Alley years ago, and it is only a tad better now it has become a "managed motorway". Avoid anywhere near Bristol on BH and weekends at tea time!

    We are just home from a nice trip in the van we were dreading coming home today in BH traffic but apart from a couple of slow moving parts the roads were fine even the M8 through Glasgow happy days lol

    We have to use the M5 a lot to visit my Mum, she was disappointed that we didn't visit today but we just couldn't face it (or the alternative routes in central Bristol where the roads are often closed at peak holiday times for marathon runs, cycle events etc.) 

    Our next trip away involves the south coast....wonder if we'll do any better on the A27?! frown

    Don't build up your hopes about the A27!!!!!!! A bit like a Curate's egg good in parts. Dual carriageway one minute going through built up areas the next.

    No I won't!wink This is part of my book two holidays close together mistake, both at each end of the school holiday week, there may be traffic ahead (to mis-quote the song.) 

    Took my elderly neighbour to town this morning, I loaded the car with her "stroller" and she came back with an incredible amount of shopping, even a box balanced on the top! Done my good deed for the day, also some clearing up in the garden when I got back, everything is growing like mad in the warm and damp. A quick chat on CT and off out again. smile

    Walked 8 miles to see 'Diipers' not one in sight.  Got back to car park and decided to walk in the opposite direction, 500 yards and 3 of the little devils playing on the rocks in the water.  Pointless 8 milessealed

    At last!!! Packing the van for a 9 night sojourn. Been at home this last 6 weeks playing fetch it/carry me as MIL recovering from having a new knee. 

    This nice weather's been pointless for us as we haven't had a chance to enjoy it in the van. 

    Can't wait though.

    Sitting here on CT when I heard something on the window. Looked up and there is blood streaked across it! Went outside and neighbour also out there who said a Woodpigeon flew into his window, injured itself and flew off (badly) over our house. 

    Cleaning windows at eight o'clock at night! Other neighbours probably thinking I'm losing it.

    I was out in the garden, under one of the apple trees and felt a powerful swoosh past my head, I realised the Sparrowhawk had just taken off. He must have been lurking in the trees, we have lots of young birds around just now. In-flight meals take on a new meaning.wink

    Have a good time, we're having a quick turn around. Unpack van, clean it, wash clothes then re-pack everything for the next trip coming up very soon. Think we'll have a holiday when we get back......smile

    We seem to have mislaid our Sparrowhawk, Brue. The Woodpigeons could definitely do with a thinning out. 

    The best bit about being at home has been the birds visiting the garden. Believe it or not I was overjoyed at seeing 2 Greenfinches the other day. Haven't had them around for a few years now. Hope their numbers are recovering after that disease that was killing them off.

    I too enjoy seeing the birds in the back garden, sadly my education is incomplete and apart from Seagull, Blackbird, Pigeon and Robin I haven't a clue as to what they might be. Can't seem to ID them on the RSPB site.

    It's strange how a particular species seems quite prolific and then some years later is hardly seen and replaced by a previously uncommon one. When I was a youngster, blue tits were uncommon around here but loads of pied wagtails. Now the little jokers are all over the place but the wagtails are rarely seen. Haven't seen any greenfinches this year.

    I was recently thinking the same about Lapwings here ..... used to see loads just down the road from me.
