So sorry to hear that you are poorly Bakers2. I do hope you feel better soon.

Have a great time at Conkers David.

I have spent the afternoon on Welcoming duty at the cathedral . It was really busy. Great to see and chat to so many people. I am now shattered. No great plans for the rest of the weekend.

Well had hoped for a relaxing day, but then OH decided to replace the window in the garage., so spent the day holding and passing tools. Then holding the window in the hole, while he drilled holes for screws  to hold in place.  It was surprisingly cold standing outside.frown

Moulesy... sounds like a lovely day, do like a good pasty.

    Ian...have to agree about  HS2 !

Sorry to hear you are unwell Bakers2 - get well soon.

Here we all are at Conkers.  The communal BBQ was postponed - far too cold to sit outside, so we all BBQ'd individually and ate in our own awnings/ caravans.  Here we all are though, for Post BBQ drinks, going on into the evening.  24 of us in one awning - thanks to our friend John.....

It was a busy evening at work, so the four hours went quite quickly. I also got my rota for next week. Four evenings including Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, total 17 hours.

Bank holiday Monday is going to be a busy day for us as it's our moving day to get back to Northbrook Farm.

Very cool and breezy here. I'll be staying inside enjoying a bit of quiet time while our son and family have gone out for the day.

They set off soon after eight o'clock - "to beat the tourists". He's brought his wet suit and is planning on swimming in Rydal water (open water training for his next Triathlon).

Then tonight - we'll be glued to the television.

Sorry for all the self promotion! But don't expect to see much (if any) of me.

There is parking available outside Pizza Hut but it is restricted to one hour in the daytime but no restriction after 6 p.m. which is when most of my evening shifts start. However, they have put me down for 5 p.m. start on Wednesday. Even so, there are times when the parking spaces are all taken up. So it's not always so easy. Luckily the Smart Car can fit into small spaces.

I've amended my moving dates to fit into the work rota. This means we'll be staying at Northbrook Farm from tomorrow until Saturday. Then we'll move to Broomfield Park CMC site for two nights before returning to Northbrook Farm. After that we plan to stay at Northbrook Farm until 25th May when we'll be leaving for the CMC National at Sandringham.

Broomfield Park is near Lewes which will be handy for visiting National Trust properties in that area next Sunday.

That's a lot less work than staying in a caravan, Oneputt, but a lot more costly! The last time we stayed in a B&B in 2015, it was £80 for one night!

It's gone rather overcast here and a bit windy. Too cold to sit out in the relaxer now.

We've just been for a drive down Long Furlong, along Titnore Lane and then on to Littlehampton road to the Tesco Esso petrol filling station to fill up fuel for the Smart car. It cost £25.10 to fill the tank. I'm going to need it for tonights work as I have four hours of delivery driving to do. I also got twenty extra points. I'm getting a new credit card from Tesco in the next few days that I can use for all my Tesco shopping to gain extra points. They can certainly add up to a worthwhile bit of extra money to spend!

After that we came home by turning left on to Littlehampton road and then turning left by the traffic lights. Then across the roundabout and on to the A24 north to Findon. Left at the roundabout and back to Charmill Cottage campsite.

Now we're back at the caravan and we've got some lunch cooking. The aroma of it is making me feel hungry. Earlier this morning we just had a light breakfast of muesli and toast.

I don't know how you can be bothered with all that 'shunting' around at this time of life Malc, wouldn't it be easier if you got a flat in the area?  And the uncertainty and insecurity of it all would worry me to death!  frown   It is fortunate that we are not all the same though, isn't it?  smile

It would be easier, TaffyY but the money would be a lot harder.money-mouth Property prices and rents are very high in this neck of the woods and where would we park the caravan and our two cars?undecided

However, my wife feels some relief from not having to go out to work anymore. It gives her plenty of time to manage our mobile home situation.

If there had to be a choice, I would be happier forfeiting the caravan and TWO cars for security but as I said, thank Goodness we are all not the same.  smile
