It seems to be clouding over now. We just had our lunch in the caravan. Too cold to sit outside.

Leith Hill was also mentioned in the magazine and brought back memories of when we last visited, in the days before I started delivery driving! Spectacular views from the top of the Tower.

The article about Devon and Cornwall reminded me of our visit during the summer of 2015 although I didn't recognise any of the places mentioned in it.

Whilst we were there, we enjoyed visiting Lands End and St Michaels Mount and the National Trust property on the other side of the King Harry Ferry.

Now in Germany, SE of Dortmund on a nice site at the end of Hennesee.  Today we have driven up to Mohnesee of Dambusters fame, and are going to have a look at the dam and do some shopping.

    Sunny but a cold wind.

Only 6 amps at the site, so we filled both our LPG bottles in preparation for running heating on gas.  Was  down to -2.5 degrees last night

When I first got up there was frost here this morning too. Rather unusual for this time of year. Even now, it's quite chilly outside.

Hi Kj, I know that area really well having lived in Dortmund twice and Soest for 3 years. Mohne Dam and the surrounding area we spend many a weekend at, only 15 mins from the house. The town of Soest is/was a nice place to.

Sounds as if the weather there is as cold as its been here. We are heading off on Saturday, ferry on Sunday. Think we will head over to Chalons for the first night, then South from there making for the Med coast and Provence. Hoping for warmer weather. Where are you heading for or are you just taking it as you fancy?

6 amps is very unusual in Germany. Have you considered my Story suggestion?

Bit of shopping this morning, picked up some solar lights in Aldi, to replace mine which had been broken.

OH was helping eldest son move some of the bigger furniture into his new house. Spoke to youngest son who said he stopped to help a women at lunchtime who had lost conciousness, phoned an ambulance and stayed with her until it arrived.

One of the drivers handed in his notice today,  can you drive an "artic" Malcolm? Job available !! undecided

So sorry robsail. It sounds as though your Mum and Dad have left you with some lovely memories and that she had a good life. I hope dealing with the formalities goes smoothly.

I resigned as Chair of the student's committee at our Adult Education College in the autumn as did the Treasurer. Since then we have been trying to change the signatories on the bank account to no avail. We have filled in all the relevant forms twice, also to no avail. We finally got a meeting with the Business Manger - retiring Chair, retiring Treasurer, new Chair and new Treasurer this afternoon. After a meeting lasting more than an hour we got no further forward. Even the Business Manager seemed unsure which forms were relevant as the rules keep changing. Final decision was that we will close the account.  It was a very frustrating experience. yell

I don't think my licence qualifies me for that H&T.

Anyhow, I've just finished my first evenings work for Pizza Hut. I've got to work alone on this one. My wife's not allowed to help me. Something to do with employers liability insurance. Three of the deliveries were to Shoreham and three within Lancing. Six altogether. The Shoreham ones were nearly five miles from the shop, so not sure if the 80p per drop fuel allowance is covering it. The Lancing ones were all less than a mile. 31 delivery miles but £4.80 fuel allowance. I'm not sure whether I'm winning on this!

Seen it all now, MM replying to himself.

Back on topic, what I'm up to:

Nice sunny start in East Norfolk so after running some scout chores will try and make it to NWT Hickling Broad for a wander around.  The trust has raised the money (£1million, which is fantastic) to secure even more of the broad area.

The wood fired oven the visiting pizza man uses at Cirencester, cooks them from raw dough in about 3 minutes, as does the electric contraption, with a pizza stone, I was bought for Christmas. So if they were part cooked, as you mentioned earlier, I would think the base would cook in just over a minute.

Thinking of Cirencester, if you put wheels on it you could tow it to CAMC sites and run a little side line, if you visited Malcs site, he could deliver.😃

I think HMRC allow 49 pence a mile, so I suppose that even deliveries of one mile from the shop there and one mile back, total 2 miles should be 98p. So an extra 18p on top of the 80p granted by Pizza Hut. However, yesterdays three Lancing deliveries were just one mile total i.e. half a mile there and half a mile back but I still get paid 80p which is well over the HMRC allowance.

We've just had lunch in the caravan. Roast chicken with stuffing and bread sauce, gravy, roast potatoes, brussel sprouts and carrots. Nice to have a home cooked lunch!

It's a bit grey and overcast at the moment here in Worthing.

Busy times here on the farm.

Yesterday our son recorded an interview for Radio Cumbria, which was broadcast at 07:20.

About the same time our farm cat had kittens - well only one - which has dissappointed the grandsons who were hoping for more. She adopted us last Autumn - turned up already pregnant and had five kittens (which we sold). I think this is the end of her child rearing. A visit to the vet is planned.

I was sat by the computer this morning ready to click at the right time. We now have front row seats for Chris Rea in Harrogate in November. He's the one we both agree on the most.

Then shopping for the weekend (younger son and family) and as a reward for all the stress and hardwork three bottles of (different) Gin slithered into my trolley.

Hope the new kitten thrives Goldie, think I'd agree about a visit to the vet. We once had a kitten who turned up from a cat who lived semi-wild nearby producing lots of kittens. I managed to get her to the vet in the end but we could never tame her. The kitten we kept was lovely natured and we had him for fourteen years. smile

I booked a concert too for later in the year, seems a long way off but lots of seats had been sold already.
