As Croatia is becoming more popular, the website of the Croation Camping Union may be useful.

    Three useful websites for France:

    French Muncipal campsites

    Bison Fute

    French Fuel Prices

The Bison Fute link takes you to the French Government travel website calendar of likely traffic conditions throughout the year - predicting days when traffic levels will be much higher than normal.  The main Bison Fute website is also useful for many other pieces of travel information, and whilst travelling through France keep a look out for the 'Bis' road signs which will direct you on to alternative route suggestions if traffic levels are high.

I thought Peedee had posted a link on here for a site which tells you whether the Alpine passes are open or closed but it is not here and I cannot find it on another thread. If your reading this Peedee can you please help. Strangely I cannot seem to find one using Google very easily that has information that is easy to understand, or am I just a bit daft :-) Were off in 2 days so if you reply thank you in advance.

    Regards, Roy

Googling 'Neige, routes Alpes du Sud' comes up with the following websites:

    http://inforoute.hautes-alpes.fr/wir3/circulation.html

    http://www.inforoute04.fr/

I don't know if these were the ones referred to, but they may help.

Roy, the one I have been using is the traffic reports from >via Michelin.< Just search for the route you want to use and it will advise you of the road conditions e.g. search for Tunel de Somport. It is especially useful in the winter months along with the snow reports from >http://www.snow-forecast.com/maps/dynamic/pyrenees<

Peedee, if a road on the Michelin map, such as the old Brenner Road 182, is showing as partly closed with a no entry sign at one end only, as it currently is, does that mean it is closed in one direction only?

In this instance I would read it as you cannot travel south to north for the small part near Natters just south of Innsbruck. On other roads I have seen a no entry sign at both ends presuming the full road is closed.

    Regards, Roy

Sorted the above query now, yes it did mean what I thought but what a lot of difficulty I have experienced in trying to get road information for Austria. Even Michelin provided different information in different parts of it's website and between the App & the online version. All sorted now. Off tomorrow & heading for Venice then Garda if weather is good. Regards, Roycool

We are about to start our annual migration to France on the 20 August . I am confused about this new requirement for emission stickers.  I plan to travel down towards Paris from Calais onto the N104 around Paris to the A6. Then, down the A77 towards Clermont-Ferrand and then on to the south. Do I need any kind of sticker? May want to visit Montpellier or other large towns in the area. If I need a sticker can I get it in France?

Our vehicle is Euro 6 compliant.

    Many thanks for your help.

on our recent Iberian trip we used park4night app (website also available) which lists suitable overnighting spots, from full blown campsites right down to free parking areas.

whilst not for everyone, we had several lovely overnight seaside town locations, usually with the company of at least one other van and always felt safe.

a great resource...also useful for parking in the uk too...

If you went to the Motorhome National you may have seen the very interesting but all too brief presentation about touring the world in your own motorhome. While the focus was on far away places, e.g. the USA, John and Sue Hughes's web site not only contains lots of information about these trips but also on ones taken closer to home.

If you enjoy walking, hiking or cycling, a great free on line map here for the whole of Switzerland: https://map.wanderland.ch  Very easy to use, you can view maps as detailed as the OS in the UK.  Also as a free App "Switzerland Mobility" in the App stores: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/switzerlandmobility/id527194959?mt=8 and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.schweizmobil&hl=en
