How's your footy team doing?

Congratulations to you Seagulls fans. Chris Hughton derserves this and given the recent history of the club and it's fight from near extinction it's a great story.
Mind you a lucky deflected late goal by the Rams against the Terriers no doubt helped you to get promotion early.😇

He was Pliers. He kept saying "things like this don't happen to me"
all the way home from the match he was nursing the ball trying to decipher the various autographs. Some players had included their squad numbers which made those easy .
yes Town nearly secure in the playoffs just need a few more points to be sure. A tough game coming up on Saturday, Fulham at the John Smiths, they thrashed us 5-0 at Craven Cottage earlier in the season, and of course they're also trying to cement a playoff place.UTT

I think Crewe are safe now, hope so 'cos I won't get much in the way of news reports oop in t' Highlands, so I'll have to rely on Steam Radio I guess.
And those of you fighting for promotion, Play-offs or just plain old safety may I wish you good hunting

A crowd of us Seagulls fans down my local really really celebrated Derby's late goal !
I've a soft spot for the Terriers (a romantic connection - ex girlfriend in Slaithwaite), they've fought hard this season. Very much in contention for a play-off place but some fairly tough games coming up - Fulham, Wolves, Birmingham, Cardiff, all of which could spring surprises.
Good Luck!

What can I say Brian ? It's Fulham they've had the evil eye on us this season 9-1 on aggregate. I'm worried that the playoffs look dodgy now. We've a game in hand but it's away at Wolves who are on something of a revival . On the bright side, Leeds and Reading both lost but the Wendies have leapfrogged into third place we're now in fifth. It's all getting very tight. I guess I'll just have to believe. Whatever happens it has been a brilliant season for us, we'd usually be fighting to avoid relegation .
The Alex are safe now but it's a sad state of affairs for the Os.
Have a good tour of the Highlands don't let the beasties bite.

Hull City's win, yesterday was monumental - especially scoring two goals after that diabolical red card was issued. Fingers crossed that they might just avoid relegation.

I hope it is rescinded, totally over the top (the red card, not the tackle).
Unfortunately football is more of a business than a sport these days and bad decisions have severe financial effects for clubs and career effects for players. Mind you, I have every admiration for most ref's in how they make the right decision in instances where it takes a couple of slo-mo replays from different angles for the pundits to agree. Quite why we have touchline officials beats me as they never seem to assist at all. Ref's must be extremely fit and run further than the players as they are always up more or less in line with the play.
Good luck for the next games, Terriers.

Thanks Spriddler. This is our game in hand, Wolves away on Tuesday.
I was reminiscing today about the times we played Brighton. I remembered a mid week game in our centenary year, 2008, when we beat them 7-1 at home. We had Danny Drinkwater, now playing with Leicester, on loan from Man U, and Theo Robinson who got a lot of goals for Lincoln City earlier this season. He would have had a hat trick but missed his third by a whisker.
I hope you are promoted as Champions, it would be thoroughly deserved.

Well, not happy about Saturday's result. But given the mess we were in just 3 years ago, a top 10 finish in league 1 makes it a pretty good season overall. Hopefully we can hang on to most of the current squad and with a couple of additions press on for a Championship spot in a couple of years time. Need to stop the bigger fish trying to poach a good young manager too!

+1 but given their huge fan base, their budget and their world class manager I'd have been surprised if they hadn't gone straight back up.
Having seen both them and Brighton this season I much preferred the way the latter came to play football at our place. Newcastle came to frustrate and with the assistance of a disgraceful referee got the job done., but it wasn't pretty to watch 😤

Sadly, papgeno, entertaining the fans and having their gate money seems unimportant to clubs' income from T.V. and sponsorship when they have players earning £1million a month.
We've just had a fundraising do to raise money for new goal nets for my village team and we all feel valued and part of the entertainment.

Well done, Terriers! Never mind just the one goal, they've maximised their game in hand and with the pressure mounting, beating Wolves away is a good win.
I know how it feels as the Seagulls have been in the same situation during several seasons' run in to the last few games.

Yes - the appeal was successful and Niasse is now available for the Southampton match on Saturday, thank goodness. Must admit that even though I thought the Ref's decision was diabolical, I was surprised that the FA have actually overturned it.

Quite remarkable that Terriers have a GD of 3 and Reading with a GD of 1 are at the top of the table, just behind Seagulls (GD 35) and Newcastle (G 40) who both have double the number of goals 'For' than 'Against'.
Oh dear. Just heard on the lunchtime News that Newcastle and Wet Ham are being investigated by HMRC............

The local fans forum is alive with speculation about possible points deductions for NUFC and how it might affect us. If West Ham are involved then I don't expect any decision against them. They seem to be golden. Remember the Tevez affair?

Yes, it had occurred to me that it could alter the auto promotion stakes or play-off participants. I bet that there are many other teams shaking in their shoes since HMRC must have twigged that there's potentially rich tax takings to be had from the many hundreds of millions circulating in the grey dealings of the soccer 'industry'.
And in addition to the Tevez affair ISTR that Portsmouth were demoted (a whole league ?) for some misdemeanour or other.
Where there's big money to be made big risks are likely.

Well done Town! But the playoffs will be no good for your nerves, Rog. 😱
We enjoyed our trip to Wembley, in spite of the dissapointing result, stayed for a few nights at the Club's Denham site, very convenient for London and for Wembley stadium.
Manchester derby tomorrow night, not optimistic, but fingers crossed.....

I'm hoping for a trip to Wembley Pliers but as you say there's the small matter of the playoffs first. I'm not sure which is worse, being at a match or having to follow on twitter or other media when you can't get to the match. You'd have thought having so many close games would train the nerves but it doesn't seem to work like that.
Ah well Up The Terriers.
