We took the grandchildren to Flag Fen, the Bronze Age Archaeological site near here, today. They started off saying it sounded REALLY BORING and didn't want to go. When we got there they found it REALLY COOL (I think that meant it was interesting). The Soay sheep had just had some lambs who were very cute. We were very pleased to find that the public can now see the Must Farm boats which are in the process of being preserved. There was also plenty of outdoor space for them to run off some energy. All in all a good day but now feeling slightly exhausted. I think a glass of wine might be in order.

It's been a number of years since we went to Flag Fen - I think it was when we stayed at Ferry Meadows. It was a good visit and I think I still have the photos somewhere. Glad you had a good time.
We've spent today sorting out the caravan easy for our visit to Conkers over the very much extended Mayday weekend.
Like you, time for a glass of wine, I think. 🍷

Haven't got a pizza oven but do cook pizza from scratch, including making my own dough. Just be aware that the high temperature of the pizza oven is designed to cook raw dough quickly on contact with the oven base, along with the heat of the oven cooking the topping. If you put a pre-prepared pizza in the oven, the base is already partially cooked and may burn very quickly before the topping is ready.
Go the whole hog and make the dough, the results will be amazing!

Thanks oneputt. She broddled about a bit and then said I should get some antibiotics from the Doctors. Apparently it's infected but I'm not in danger of losing the nail. As expected I couldn't get into the Docs today, I've got to ring tomorrow and take pot luck in the mad scramble for appointments in the morning. It makes the CAMC booking frenzy look like a walk in the park. My GP is very selective with forward booking. I think it's so they can say no-one has to wait longer than 24 hours. Cynical mois?🤔

We visited two National Trust places. In the morning we went to Cissbury Ring. It was ideal weather for walking with a bit of cloud and a cool breeze. Quite a steep climb to get to the top but worth it because of the views over the coastline and the South Downs National Park on the other side.
In the afternoon we visited Slindon Estate including the village and the woodlands with an amazing display of bluebells.

I agree, IanH. When we collected ours from Chipping Sodbury Caravans, they said they didn't do the damp test because the caravan was full of our belongings. Last year we used a mobile servicing and it was no problem.

Mornin' All Bright 'n clear but cold. Covering of snow gradually disappearing, bird bath solid so they are getting a full spring clean then a refill before I start loading the Non Frozen food and those things I thought I'd possibly need, then rejected but on second thoughts ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, . Well, it's only a Bit of extra weight.
Off for a second coffee now, so See You All in a month or so, then it'll be fast approaching the time when nights start drawing in again .

It was a bit chilly this morning here in Worthing but plenty of sunshine and no snow!
We just had our lunch in the caravan. We had planned on taking a picnic lunch to Highdown Hill where there are picnic benches next to the car park but in the end decided not to because of the cold north wind.

The only thing wrong with means tested benefits is that you have to keep completing forms everytime your circumstances change and the amount you get depends on your income. So if your circumstances keep changing with variable earnings it could be a lot of hassle. You can also get trapped on the benefit system because your income may not necessarily improve by working because the more you earn, the less benefit you get. I could be wrong but that's my understanding of how means tested benefits are assessed. The state pension, on the other hand is much more straightforward because the amount you get does not vary when circumstances change. I remember the saying K.I.S.S. meaning 'keep it straight and simple.'
