sites south west coast of France
Hi All
We are looking for ideas for sites on the south west coast of France, We will be arriving from the Dordogne Region where we will be staying at Camping perpetuum the 2nd week in June. We are 2 adults 1 caravan and 1 dog. We are not to fussed about entertainment but would like to be close to a nice beach and nearby village if possible. Any ideas would be great.
Thanks

Pavillon Royal, Bidart near Biarritz. We've been going for the last twenty-odd years and last year went to the Dordogne first, so it's easily driveable in half a day. Have a look in the overseas section.
The manager past away last year and the new guy has come from a large commercial site. He's nowhere near as approachable and indications are that the site will get a lot more commercialised. It'll probably be mostly chalets and statics in a few years but at the moment it's probably the best coastal site in the south-west

In case you don't want to go right down to the Spanish border there are about two dozen campsites to choose from around La Palmyre. Here's a photo to show how it was there at Camping La Palombiere in June 2016. But perhaps you want somewhere livelier?

Can echo Deleted User Users recommendation. We've stopped here in the past and St.Jean de Luz is a nice base. Biarritz is an easy drive as are the lower reaches of the Pyrenees.
Just a word about Perpetuum. Really nice site with lovely owners. Just be aware of the low hanging branches from the many walnut trees on site. Suggest you pick your spot by looking at available pitches before moving the van/mh onto it. Don't forget your ACSI membership and card.

Count me in for Pavillion Royals. Missed out last year for the first time in 15, real shame about the manager, Joel was it? Really nice guy and kept the site spot on. Direct access to a super beach and walking distance to Bidart one way and Biarritz the other along the beach if you time the tide right. Longer walk back though along the road, tide'll be in, or get the bus to the end of the road to the site. It is expensive but worth saving up for.

Its a few years since we were down there, but we liked the site Ur-Onea at Bidart. Its ACSi in low season I believe, and walking distance to a large beach
