    Any plans for going down later in the year? Let us know if you are, it'd be good to meet up again.

    Our site is closed this month and we're off to warmer climes tomorrow - 15 days in Mauritius, very adventurous for us!!

    Today we have had a lovely family birthday meal today to celebrate our eldest son's birthday tomorrow. Gosh the years fly by! Unfortunately we are going to the funeral of our eldest grand-daughter's other grandad tomorrow.  Life's rich pattern.frown

    According to this article, the Bradcot Modul-Air Awning is a modular unit that comes as a base size, with an extension module that turns it into a full awning, if required.

    Note the words at the bottom though - NB THIS IS A TOURING AWNING AND IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR SEASONAL PITCHING OR PERMANENT SITING

    Even though we have a seasonal pitch at Northbrook Farm club site, the club rule is that awnings have to be dismantled every 21 days. So the caravan can be left on pitch all season but not the awning. So the Bradcot awning would be suitable in those circumstances.

     

    Malcom I am not sure if the manufactures would consider taking it down for two days 16 times in a year normal touring. It sounds more like the hammer one would get from being permanently erected.

    Soon after we purchase it at the National, we'll be going on a touring holiday for 2 weeks in Scotland so that would be touring use. We're thinking a half awning would suffice and be easier to erect and dismantle. A porch awning would be too small.

    Thanks Millie and HelenandTrevor.  (Couldn't get Millie's post to quote??)

    We arrived about 7pm as planned and had a good journey down.

    Now I'm sitting in the car in Asda car park in Penryn while Carol has gone shopping to fill up Annas food cupboard - using my debit card!  I really couldn't bear to watch so I have stayed in the car with the dog!

    Weather here is very odd.  Blue skies and sunshine one minute, grey skies and quite heavy rain/sleet the next.  It is as if someone suddenly switches the tap on and off again.

    If money was no object you would buy the air awning. It appears that fast food delivery pays very well. Despite what we are led to believe.

    Spent the morning in the local hospital with my wife ,as she went through various tests and checks ready for her hip operation which they say should be in the next 4 weeks , hopefully she will be fit enough for our trip to Devon over Easter

    At the moment, we're parked on the sea front by West Parade opposite the gardens and tearoom there. Very mixed weather. Heavy showers followed by some sunshine. Cold and windy though. If you have a hat or cap on here, make sure you hold on to it!

    We've done two deliveries so far this afternoon with gaps between each delivery, so we had time to visit Greggs in the town centre to buy some Cornish Pasties and two coffees for lunch. We also filled up fuel at the Tesco Esso pfs at 182 Littlehampton Road in Worthing.

    Now waiting for the next order. We're due to work until 22:00 tonight but if it's not busy, we'll probably start our journey back 10 to 15 minutes earlier to get back to the site before the barriers lock at 11 p.m.

    The Shogun is due its MOT by 9th March, so I rang the Mitsubishi service dept. and booked it in for 9 a.m. on Tuesday the 7th. I've also booked an Enterprise car rental to get us to and from there  to Broadwater Green in Worthing where our own car will be parked ready to start work at 12 noon.

    By the way, in case you were wondering about the inflatable tent that we are using in place of the awning, it's the same tent that we had before we bought the caravan that we used to live in for three months prior to the caravan purchase. We decided to keep it and now it has come in useful once again. During those three months it withstood all weather conditions. So if an inflatable tent can do it, why not an inflatable awning?

    Her main concern is if she has the operation to near to the holiday she is worried that she might do damage to the joint getting in and out of the M/H , we don't want to cancel,but her health must come first

    Just been down town to transfer ISA'S from Nationwide to Virgin Money as NW reducing interest to 0.75% got 1 year fixed rate now paying 1.01%. Also opened up regular saver paying 2.25% on up to £250 per month. Doesn't have to be a payment every month and can be any amount up to £250 or whatever you choose for that month. Rate will stay until 1 February 2018, withdrawals not penalised. Seemed a good deal so opened one of those too. They also do a basic bank account paying 0.75% but that's not enough to tempt me haha. 

    Now off to update the list that lives in our black box so the kids, and come to that hubby, knows what accounts we have with rough balance as now one doesn't have a book for all accounts! I have no intention of our remaining hard earned money being lost into a dormant account. Fat chance of that at present as I'm such a rate tart and rates are so appalling 😂😂😂.  Sometimes even I get confused. Sadly tesco haven't reopened their 3% current account.

    Had torrential rain showers but avoided those on the walk into and out of town but did need my brolly. Wind very chilly.

    wink Back at home now after a VERY relaxing 'wind-down' week end.Rocking & rolling all last night though with very high winds & rain.!! Had to raise the hydraulic jacks & put the wheels back on the ground for stability !! Ho Hum,surprised.

    We have a double step with hand rail for OH and a fiama folding hand rail fitted to side of caravan

    Quite screen.  My comment was VERY tongue in cheek.

    I think using the toilet or seating maybe a big issue too. I believe that new hips mustn't bend more than 90 degrees at least for a while. Might be worth checking out while you wait. I think they 'give' you adaptor for toilet at home.  I'm saying this as food for thought so you are ready rather than discover after the op. Are your entry steps shallow? Have a chat with a physio.
