New Handbook.
Our 2017/18 handbook arrived this lunchtime, great! Has anyone noticed the cover? As we members are aware the club has been re-named to incorporate motor homes as well as caravans. Wouldn't it have been better to have caravan as well as a motor home on the front cover and map? I apologise if I'm being rather sensitive and I appreciate motor homes need to be included in our club however let's keep it equal. Do any other members feel as I do?

An accurate book delivered much earlier in the year is all that matters to me.
My one gripe with this rebranding exercise is the deliberate withholding of the book which has inconvenienced members and may have caused CL owners to lose business.
So I don't actually care if it depicts a flying pig on the cover.

Can anyone actually be worried that the pictorial image chosen for the cover of the new club handbook has only a motorhome rather than a caravan and motorhome? Will we have comments from disgruntled members that the motorhome on the cover is a different make or model from the one that they cherish? Have the handbook designers upset any one who owns a tent? I think that the content of the handbook is of greater importance! Shall we just get back to enjoying our chosen method of camping helped by a very useful and comprehensive handbook!

With respect, that's nothing to do with having only a MH on the cover. Did you mean to post in the other thread?

I never judge a book just by the cover........😁

We received ours on Saturday, it doesn't bother me in the slightest what the front cover shows. As a MHer it certainly wouldn't even have elicited a comment from me had there been just a caravan on the front cover. What on earth does it matter; what bothers me more is that the Mildenhall site is still listed inside it, and as we now know that site is no more, although we have yet to hear it officially.

I'm happy with the book - it's the map that I don't like. IMO over the years it's become much too cluttered to be practical.

Thanks for that TW. As a caravan user I could not make out what it was!!

Same for us, but we do have an excuse for not having our as we're away caravanning, and not stuck at home!!

I find the symbols showing site facilities lack clarity; pale green on white may look good in design circles but black on white gives sharpness and clarity. The designer seems to think that the form is more important than the function which is to INFORM with CLARITY.

The motorhome members have had to wait 110 years to get a name on anything, so I think it's a nice gesture from the club to put a motorhome on the new book. We are caravan members but we are all in the same club.

Ours arrived a week or two ago. It went into my bag of holiday stuff, just in case I ever need to look at it.
Didn't notice what was on the cover. Also didn't notice what was on the cover of its predecessor, which went into the re-cycle bin unopened.

You seem to manage to find CC sites OK without it.

We got ours last week and for the first time I actually spent some time looking at it and the map found it quite easy to use, thought it was useful and will put it in the van when we next go away.
Question: why can't they produce the European touring book in the same way, the one we got years ago was so hard to find anything we gave up, has it got any better???
