    Yes & No

My main issue is the lack of suitable fresh water filling points and waste emptying points.

Many waste points are not easy to use just a grid in the road that you have to try to manaover your waste outlet over is not easy.

Whether this change of name will make the sites more motorhome friendly, only time will tell.

Im am in favour of the change in the name to reflect the fact that the site is for both caravans and Motorhomes.

I don't particularly like the new logo

I don't think the whole rebrand was needed and like others a waste of money

The site signage should be done on a gradual basis, as and when new signs are needed.

I suspect it was a motor caravan user who pushed this, when it could have been better spent on some thing physical that works for everybody.

When i opened the envelope this morning my first impression was that  it looked like a cheap piece of junk mail the new logo i dont like and i can't understand why thousands of pounds is going to be spent rebranding a brand that sells itself . Are members going to be told of total costs? Are prices going to rise to pay for this only time will tell.

A bit of a song and dance about nothing, even though we use a motor home. Would have appreciated being able to log in under my name or book pitches myself, instead of as my wife. She just happened to be the one who set up the original membership.

The name or logo, especially the logo, have no importance, just looks like marketeers squandering money.

Why are we having a pop at motorhomers now? They are not a new addition to the club membership.

Well I will join those who think that this "new" logo is a total waste of money. It looks like something my 4 year old next door neighbour came up with and know doubt some consultants have been paid vast sums of money.

A cheap and I believe more accetable logo would have been to keep the flag and horseshoe and as reprints etc are required changed the letters to cmc

I have no objection to the name change and in fact I have both caravan and camper but honestly cannot see the point for several years there have often been as many campers/motorhomes on sites as caravans,

If the club and I repeat club had wished to find some way to spend whatever this cost which must be comsiderable and if members had been consulted I am sure they could have come up with a better way, two examples to me would be more sites open in winter with most now having all weather sites and free wifi as is the norm on also ever commercial site.

This is like big brother companies just dictating and I thought it was a Members Club

Plus normally a Motorhome takes half the space on a site so this could lead to more available pitches.

How do you work that out? A M/H take up a pitch just the same as a caravan does, so same number of pitches used!!!!

It would be interesting to know what the logo change and rebranding has cost right from signage to uniforms.

If you have to watch a video to understand the logo then its wrong, To my mind it should explain itself

More could be done to improve  sites, especially some of the tired and fuddy duddy shower facilities.

I shall be delighted if  some real Motorhome Service Points can be installed on sites. Not all fillers or emptiers are on the same side

It seems to me that, far from promoting inclusivity, the new name has actually created a cvan/MH divide. There are some vitriolic comments in this thread that have no place on this forum. Are we not all members of the same club sharing the same hobby? I think it's time we all started acting our ages.

Read the 1st few pages of this discussion this am & read the last few pages this evening – far too time consuming to read them all.   I don’t think the changes will make any difference to what the club provides to members -  pitches, insurance, ferry bookings, advice etc.   These are still available to all members whatever unit is used & by whatever age group.   We can all carry on enjoying our time away.  Got my stickers – still no book though.

How come there has been no mention, let alone discussion in the magazine of all these changes. Is this the brave new world of inclusion? Keep all this massively expensive change just between a few people and exclude most of us. Most representatives in any connection very rarely speak for members/ constituents. They voice their own opinion. I for one feel even more alienated. Get the basics 100% before changing a logo that was ok. Get a better booking system for sites and rallies. Make the website less complicated and more inline with current practice. Fiddling while Rome burns. In a few years no one will be caravanning because we will only have small petrol or electric cars and small electric campervans if something isn't sorted soon.about the potential demise of diesel engines. Too many people playing at being important and missing the point totally.

I don't think that you have thought this through. Firstly I truly doubt that most caravanners have any dislike for motorhomers. We do generally come from the same tree.

If many of the motorhomers were not using a motorhome they would likely be caravanners as many of them have been. Why wouldn't motorhomer use a CC site? They use other caravan sites and why not.

Motorhomes do not take up half the space. They use what would be awning space to put out chairs etc as indeed I do as I do not use an awning. Motorhomers also take up a pitch. Full stop. Yes they could use a non awning pitch as could I. The CC sites do not make a two thirds size pitch for motorhomes and indeed some motorhomes bring a car.

Main thing is that there be harmony between members.

Given that this thread has so far summed up just under 900 posts with probably no more than 300 separate individuals expressing their dismay and objection to the rebranding, I doubt the committee are quaking at the thought of your activist ideas.

The Club membership quota being in the region of 800,000, less than 0.04% of members are having a good moan on this forum so you are unlikely to be worrying the committee in the slightest.

Generally, it is those that like to complain the most that will resort to airing their views on this forum, most of the other 99.9+% of the Club membership probably couldn't care less about the rebranding and have more important things to waste their time on.

Just saying, let the moaning continue... I'd imagine this thread will go dormant in a few days time and the attention will turn to something else

I think I am going to have cancel or weekend on a clubsite.  I was thinking I was going to have a relaxing weekend may be going to a pub for lunch  But looks like I am going to be a pioneer an adventurer and going to have to bravely pitch where no man has ever pitched before.  Trouble is I realise that I don't have the up to date vaccinations to prepare for this adventure and the Drs have no appointments available.

We joined a club for caravaners, they have moved the goalpost. I understand they want to cash in on the motorhome population but it should never be to the cost of the original members and loyal supporters. Please make proper space for these tall vehicles. Thank you.

    Many motorhomers are original members!!

If there are more motorhomes then we can look forward to more, narrower pitches. A caravan/awning/car takes up more space than a motorhome and awning and same goes with no awning. For example look at the amount of empty gravel at York Rowntree Park which is always "full".

A motor caravan burns just as nicely as a trailer caravan, if not more so.  The 6 meter space will still have to apply, so even if motor caravans were to be put on the non-awning pitches the usage of space would be the same.

A pitch is a pitch and fire regs will only allow the the min spaces between pitches as now so there will not be any smaller spaces

Alternatively, make caravanners park their cars in the car park and ban awnings. That'll allow more narrower pitches.tongue-out (The smiley indicates a tongue in cheek comment for those of you not familiar with the concept of humour.)

This is getting silly now. I repeat we are all members of the same club sharing the same hobby. Why are MH-ers suddenly the spawn of the devil?

There seems to be a mistake in the logo. It says Since 1907 Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Should that not read Since 2017
